    Quiet, uses less water

We bought the washer / dryer combo. My wife wanted front loaders in order to wash more and use less water. I was skeptical as I erroneously thought you couldn't open them once they started. Ooops. When there were installed, my wife had a smile that is the kind of smile a husband likes to see with a 'gift.' Not that I buy my wife tools for gifts. Anyway, so far, they are performing nicely. They are quiet and look really nice. We wanted the LG similar product, but the doors flung open and would hit the walls or fridge in the utility room. These doors open and stay where you leave them. We are in a drought right now in central texas, so saving water is important (it costs a lot!). We had the old washer/dryer for 10 years and they did well. The dryer stopped heating but the washer was fine.

no need to stuff bulky items in a too small washer. washer accomodates large item, but is still able to adjust for smaller loads. great cycles for all purposes. delicates are wrinkle free.

This machine is horrid! Oh and don't expect any help from Maytag (aka whirlpool, as there is no Maytag anymore! Whirlpool bought them up ) At first it was a great machine, until about 6 wks after we bought it, when it stopped mid cycle and gave me a code of F21. This code means that there is a flow problem in the drainage system. OK, so I check the drainage hose and it is fine, still giving me that code, so I call the manufacture for a repair man to come out as it was still under warranty. Let me first say that this is NOT my first front loader, we had a kennmore (or a whirlpool duet) for 10 yrs and never had a problem, the only problem I had with it was that it only lasted 10 yrs, the bearings went out, and when that happens to a front loader, it is cheaper to replace the machine. Anyway, I had the repair man come out and he found a total of 3 socks in the outtake valve under the machine. I was loading it per manual specifications, so I started baging socks, thinking this will solve the problem. Nope!!! 4-6 wk later it clogs again!!! This time we try to deal with it ourselves. We got a wash rag out of it, thinging that was all there was, we started using it again. Nop[e it threw the code up again. so called again to have them come out. This time he pulls out another wash rag and a dish towel!!! A DISH TOWEL! It just clogeed up again 2 days ago, the repair man caem back out and again pulled out a dish rag! Called Maytage, they will not replace the machine unless the tech says it is un-repairable, and then teh company will make a "determination " of if it needs replacing. It is stioll under teh warranty for a few more months, but I see having to use it again very very soon! The tech said this is a very common problem with this machine, and with this brand imparticular. He says he gets calls all the time about things being stuck in the outtake. I can't wash the loads the manual "claims" you should be able to, I have to wash very small loads, and it still clogs up like clock work, it doesn't spin the clothes well at all, it is noisy and constantly "walks " across the floor during spin cycles. bad bad bad machine. You get what you pay for, and in this one you will get a very cheap machine.

This washer shakes the whole house add vibrates. I've had the technician out three times and he can't fix it. It smells terrible unless you leave the door open right after the cycle finishes. You can't add clothes without draining the whole washer. Don't waste your money on a front loader. Buy a top loader.
