I searched for a machine with steam and good features that wasn't huge like many of the newer models. Utility room is not large, and this was a great compromise. Not designer-looking, but fit the needs at a good price, and Best Buy price-matched which helped!

Left soapy residue on dark clothes. Spun good.....probably because it didnt use enuf water

This was a clearance item and I was super excited to find a great deal on a large-capacity washer. Less than 48 hours into having it, I decided it had to go back. I washed a thin, double-sized comforter THREE separate times on THREE separate wash settings INCLUDING a power wash/deep clean cycle which is supposed to include more water and I had soap residue come out on the wash each time. I even experimented with different detergents (powder vs liquid) and used MUCH less than the dispenser even said. I don't have time to mess with wash cycles that should get clothes clean the first time, nor do I have time to spend waiting for a full wash cycle to complete before finding out the load needs to be washed AGAIN. Terrible product. I am returning it for the LG front loader I used to have (we had to replace because of a bearing) because at least I know the clothes come out very clean and there is no "trick" to the wash settings - what you see is what you get. I would NOT recommend this product. STAY AWAY!

Couldn't fit a front loader, so had to get top loader. Cleans well.

Great machine for the 2 of us. It is very efficient and quiet.

3 words: PIECE OF JUNK!! We bought the washer back in Apr '16, it's been six months and we've had nothing but issues with this garbage. For starters, we have the same issues as a few other people, where the machine leaves stain/residue left on the clothes. We've tried several things and the only solution we've come across is to put the washer on extra rinse. Additionally, we have had 4 service calls within this 6 month time period and are scheduled for another one next week. Things that have went wrong or to be replaced are: water valve, clutch, control board, bearing assembly, detergent dispenser, & now...the gear box. I have put in numerous calls to Maytag/Whirlpool..NOTHING..just the same ol BS of "we'll keep repairing it unless a master tech deems the washer un-repairable". Where is the customer service? Why are we stuck with a machine that has had 5 service calls/repairs within 6 months? Such an inconvenience to my family. Do NOT purchase this washer or buy Maytag/Whirlpool products, save yourself the hassle..i wish I would have!!

I have never experience a better product than this

I bought this in Aug of 2016 mainly because of the brand. I can't think of another purchase I've regretted more than this one. Every week I'm reminded of how crappy this washer is. It works as it was designed to do ... with minimal water and with minimal cleaning ability. I've tried every setting, added water manually and still the laundry is barely wet or sometimes still dry. If there was an upgrade plan from Maytag I would drop this sucker in a second. This really tarnishes the brand for me. I'm tempted to stick it out on the curb and just buy something else.
