Customers frequently mention the large capacity of this 6.2 Cu. Ft. 10-Cycle Top-Loading Washer, finding it ideal for washing bulky items like comforters and significantly reducing the number of loads needed. Positive feedback also highlights the washer's strong cleaning performance. However, some users note that the spin cycle may not fully dry large loads.

THIS MACHINE IS FOR ANYONE THAT HATE DOING LAUNDRY

This machine is for anyone that hate doing laundry every week and goes two or three weeks before doing laundry, or for a large family, or for a family caring for an elderly or disabled person where there are lots of soiled quilted bed pads to wash daily. I've only had it a week so far but I love it. The very first day I did 15 queen sized sheets, plus 30 coordinating pillow cases in one load... it was filled to the brim. I used the sanitize with oxi feature and hot water and it washed everything BEAUTIFULLY. Totally clean and I didn't even use deep fill (I forgot about it). Tide pods are my detergent of choice and I only used one pod plus the oxi clean powder. I did fill oxi to max. This is not my 1st Maytag top loader HE machine, so I know how to load it so it will clean well. My advice to those that are not happy with the cleaning power is follow the loading instructions they give you to the letter. Its very important to keep the clothes touching the walls of the drum. Just go higher and higher around the drum. Make sure you can see what I call the "nickel" which is the round piece in the center of the tub when you are finished loading. If something has covered the 'nickel' push it back against the wall. If you use those fabric scent beads, put them in first before loading, if you forget then pour them over the nickel but not on your clothing, otherwise you might end up with white stripes or streaks on dark items and will need to rinse again which defeats the purpose of using them. This machine is so quiet, it purrs during the spin cycle. But what I have found is don't use it on the highest spin setting, its quiet powerful and a little noisy, I did see some slight machine vibration on that setting. Instead I use the next to highest spin setting the most and it is perfect thus far for my spin dry needs. The only thing I can't speak to is longevity. I just don't know if the newer Maytag's last like their predecessors. My first maytag machine (which was the cheapest one they offered at the time because it was all I could afford) lasted 25 years with only two service calls! My second Maytag, Bravos XL mvwb850yw only lasted 5 and 1/2 years and I paid almost 1K for that machine, so it wasn't cheap. Like many of the top loading Bravos models of the early to mid 2000's (mine was a 2011 model) the ball bearings went out and some places want to replace the tub to replace the ball bearings, which is an $800 repair. Some will do the bearings only but that is still a $400+ repair for something that will occur again. You can buy the kit on Amazon to do it yourself for about $40 bucks, but that involved removing the tub, above my skillset after watching you tube videos on it. After much back and forth Whirlpool (who owns maytag now) did offer to pay for the parts but the labor was still going to be in the hundreds and the repairman I talked to at my house was pretty sure it would occur again within 5 years because he felt there was design flaw in those models. He explained it all to me but I won't go into it in this review. So after explaining this to Whirlpool (they didn't agree or disagree about the design flaw) they sold me this machine, brand new, well below what I would have to pay for it in any store or online ( I checked everywhere before agreeing to the resolution). They gave me a temporary pass to their employee purchase website so I could order it. I was able to buy this machine AND a 5 year extended warranty for less than what I would have paid for the machine on my own, so I will give them kudos for giving me that resolution. It was as frustrating process but I guess in the end they did come through, although a free replacement would have been ideal, I have to be reasonable in my expectations from corporate America today. Unless there is a class action lawsuit involved anything you get in compensation is a plus. In the end I like this machine so much better until I may have been all for the best at the end of the day.. everything for a reason as they say. I have a elderly parent living with me that moved in about a week before the other machine went out. Now I can handle all of her washing needs with ease, I can even run the washer while she is asleep (its next to her room) because it is so quiet. It also has a time delay function which is great too for when the machine gets older and I'm sure noise will come with age. I wish I could have afforded to get the new dryer too, but I couldn't. My old bravos dryer is pretty large though, I believe its 7.3 cubic feet. When I put that first load of 15 sheets and 30 pillow cases in my dryer it was full to the BRIM. Thus if you wash a capacity full load in the washer and have an older dryer you may have to dry in two loads. Fortunately my old bravos dryer did manage the load but it took a long time. Now I will split them or keep wash sizes slightly smaller. I just did so many sheets at once to test it out and also they had piled up while the other machine was on the blink. I was really shocked to see that it handled it all so well. Some had old stains on them that I had made note of and even they came out from the oxi boost I suppose. My suggestion to everyone is to read the owner's manual thoroughly before washing, especially if you're coming from a front loader or an agitator top loader because how you load this machine is different. You have to load it as if there is still an agitator in the center even though there isn't one. Also, if you don't really need the highest spin revolution setting of 1000 rpm.. why use it? Its only going to put more wear and tear on your machine. Drop down to the next to high or lower setting. Finally, it try using the pods, even warehouse clubs sell their own version cheaply. one pod is all you need soap wise. If you must use powder or liquid, then follow the manufacturer's amount, not going over max fill.... too much soap in these machines are never a good thing. This machine is a joy and I pray it last much longer than 5 years... but to be safe I got the max warranty I could buy, LOL.

This is an excellent washer with a huge capacity, lots of features for all kinds of loads, attractive, runs fairly quietly. My only slightly negative comment would be that it would be helpful to be tall to reach to the bottom of the bin to get clothes out because of the the large capacity size of the unit. But, overall a great machine.

Wow, in the beginning loved this washer it is commercial grade?? broke down 2x. Had to return and purchase a Samsung 5.4 top loader. Favorite feature is delay...starts hours later at your leisure.
Did not like that you can not just rinse, have to go through the entire cycle 26 minutes later.
With the size washer I put 2 king comforters in no prob.

This washer definitely cuts down on loads, if you have a lot of items to wash. Also love the fact we can wash our comforters at home!

My comforter finally fits and is clean after being washed! I only wish the new washers had agitators. I still think they clean better but I am very happy with my Maytag so far, since purchase about a month ago.

We bought this washing machine because we wanted a machine that can handle an active family of five. It does the job and requires less loads of wash to get all the laundry done.

I have always owned and trusted Maytag washers and dryers due to the quality and reliability. It was time to replace my 20 year old units and wanted the top end models. The sanitize feature of both is a plus.

I have nothing good to say about this machine. I have the same issue with this machine. Maytag nor Best Buy could repair it. Machine states it has a 10 year limited warranty and I purchased an extended warranty. The wash plate continues to tear our clothes. Especially dri fit clothes. Geek squad sends out A&E (Sears company) to repair it. And till this day I still cant get it repaired. Oct 2020 is when I put in a service call and hear we are in April 2021, and I still have the same issue. I am on my way to Best Buy in McAllen, TX on Ware Rd to get someones attention.
