    Bad Antivirus

    I have used different antiviruses but this one was the worst. To begin, it slow down my computer, it change my audio settings, didn't clean my computer properly. When I started my computer it took up to 45 seconds to show me the user names and after typing my password in it sometimes took up to 5 minutes to login because it would show me a black or blue screen. After removing McAfee my computer works at its normal speed.

    I picked this up during a sale BestBuy was having and love the value/features. Glad to know I'm being protected in some regard - with up to 5 devices, I'm currently using it for three and it gives a little piece of mind by doing so. Includes virus scans for your files, web browsing security (let's you know how 'safe' or 'unsafe' a site may be when you visit or search) and has a few other bells and whistles - like data backups for your phone, for instance. Overall, a very sound product.

    Not the best antivirus software but better than none at all. I have issues with the scan feature. I can physically tell my laptop is running slower, but when I conduct a full scan I’m told the laptop is clean. I believe that the cookies and so forth could be the issue but not savvy with computers to know the in and outs. I have not had files harmed since installed, but my laptop has not increased speed performance since install either.

    The last two time I have bought McAfee it has been very frustrating. Some of it has to do with my windows 10 PC. But I feel it is also this software. Both times I have installed McAfee I felt like it was fighting me. First part of uninstalling old software goes flawlessly. Installing new software is where I had problems. Freeze ups. Saying it can't install. Then after a couple of days it installed like nothing was wrong. Don't know if I'll buy it again.

    This is my first time trying out McAfee, and it was mostly due to how much bang you get for your buck. This product frequently gets deep discounts, and so it's usually far below competitor prices. Alongside that, it does tend to offer more for a cheaper price. I've been using it for a while now, and it runs silently in the background with no noticeable slowdown. This was especially helpful for me, as I was on a budget and needed something quick.

    Have been using McAfee for many years. It provides reliable security for all of your devices. Best Buy had the best price for the 5 device protection. Only annoying thing about McAfee is that it tries to get you to sign up for auto renewal which is more expensive than purchasing in store. You will have to turn off the automatic renewal setting after installation.

    I bought this for my laptop. I get all kinds of irritating popups on my computer so I wasn't able to go to the website and download this software. The popup won't allow me to. I believe the actual CD would have worked for me. Bring the CDs back McAfee! I was able to download this software on my phone which was pretty cool.

    Had some issues downloading this and had to call company. They referred me to a third party that had to install it for me. They went through and cleaned up my whole network and when They were done told me it was $99 a year for their service. They then tried to bills for 500 for 5 years of service. Finally paid them something and they promised to help with 5 computers. Was not happy with that, but McAfee seems to work good.

    Giving poor reviews because the pop-ups you get with this product are really annoying. You already have the product installed, but keeps asking me to add features to their own product, for a charge of course. Very annoying, would spend the first 10 minutes after turning in my computer, trying to close all the notifications.

    After a horrible experience with another anti-virus suite (Kaspersky), I went back to the tried and true McAfee. McAfee doesn’t bug you with advertising pop-ups (Norton) and doesn’t trash your computer (Kaspersky). I’ve used them all...and I should have known better than to try anyone other than Mcafee. Highly recommended.

    Purchased this version for a business with 4 workstations and 1 server. It got rid of several viruses and 5 gigabytes collectively of files and data we did not need. Runs scans seamlessly in the background and will notify the user of how many files were scanned and any threats that may have come about. Great product and user friendly interface.

    Easy to download and install. It runs in the background with no hassles. I would like a report on what specific problem files it has removed if any. You have to search for the statement that says Last Scan was "X Date" and no Time is given. This information should be displayed on the Home page. Otherwise, so far, so good.

    I bought this hoping to secure 5 computers, first time using Mcafee, always purchased Norton for over 10 years with no problem. Big mistake, only worked on 1 computer, could not load on the others, terrible product, no wonder it's offered for free across some platforms, never had a problem with Norton, waste of money, will not purchase again.

      I'm sorry you had this experience. What did you do to try and install onto multiple computers? If you tried entering your download code again, that is likely the issue - it only needs to be entered the first time. To install onto multiple devices, you can either log into your McAfee account from that device and click on "Download" or you can log into your account from anywhere and send an email or text to the device you want to protect. You then access the email/text, click on the link and the download should begin. If there was another issue, our support should be able to help you work through it. It sounds like you have already gone back to Norton, but in case you want to try, you can contact our support team at service.mcafee.com and our support is always free. I do hope you try us again.     Always good to have protection on your computer, even when you think you know what you're doing and where you're surfing. McAfee scans your computer in the background so you continue doing what you're doing without any annoying pop ops alerting you of the search. You can set it to automatic or manual. Really easy set up.

    The Mcafee program is great for the price. However, don’t call the customer service, they’ll attempt to use scare tactics to sell you more security that you don’t need. It does the job it’s intended for. Must put debit card to activate account and auto renews . So, once activated get a new debit card.

      I'm sorry you had this experience. Are you sure you called the correct number? We've had issues with fraudulent numbers claiming to be McAfee and trying to charge money. Our support number is 866-622-3911. We don't charge money for support, and I'm not sure what they would have tried to sell you since McAfee Total Protection is a comprehensive protection package. Also, we don't require you to enter a credit card to activate your account - only to enroll in auto-renew, which is optional. You can skip that step and still activate, or if you've already enrolled, you can cancel at any time by going into Settings in your account, choosing Auto-Renew settings and then cancelling the service.     For anyone looking for a Virus protector for their PC , get this one. I am very pleased with McAfee, it does a Great job. I have been using McAfee for a few years now with no problems at all. My current version is expiring soon, and lucky for me, BB has it on sale. What a Great Buy!

    This product can be used on laptops, tablets and phones which makes it handy. It gives numbers of what has been detected, what has been removed etc in a quick view to understand how it is working. It does not take long to download it initially onto devices either which is great!

    I didn't realize that this product's box would only have a code in it. I thought it would be a CD-Rom like in previous experiences, but having the code made it easier than expected. I flew overseas and was able to install it on my laptop while on vacations seamlessly.

    This latest version of McAfee Total Protection runs more smoothly than the older versions. So far, it has not detected any viruses so I cannot say how effective it is yet. Thus, I am going with 4 stars until I get more experiences with it.

    Norton renewal was up and while shopping on BB, McAfee looked like a value purchase. Reviews and recommendations from online and associates were positive. Easy install after uninstalling Norton. Was very satisfied with Norton but McAfee was much better value pending good performance.
