    TOUCHES THE HEART...

Addresses an issue that far too many people have had to face and does so in a heartfelt way. The characters are lovable -- you root for them through insurmountable odds, gain a perspective of how the realities in life that are dealt can change one's path in an instant...and respect that a right to choices we could never imagine having to make for ourselves...or by our loved ones belongs to us and our loved ones alone. A remarkable story for our times.

    Very Touching & Beautiful Movie

It's not often that a movie truly moves me to tears and when they do, they are unforgettable. This beautiful film should come with a warning to have tissues on hand. It is a sweet and heartbreaking romance and no, it doesn't have your typical happily ever after but that is what makes it so beautiful and sad. The acting is wonderful and there is plenty of humor and touching moments. Some people may be critical because it does address legalized assisted suicide but it's done so in a way that is realistic regarding terminally ill or severely incapacitated individuals. I loved both the movie and book but I should warn those who read the book but haven't seen the movie yet, there are plots and characters that didn't make it into the film - Will's sister is not a character in the film and the trauma that Louisa experienced is NOT in this film. But if you read the book, you will notice moments that allude to Louisa avoiding what happened in her past. It might have been an overwhelming film to include her plot - it worked better in the book.

A Tearjerker that Earns Its Tears

If you're buying a ticket to Me Before You you know what you're getting yourself into. The movie itself, based on the novel by Jojo Moyes (who also penned the screenplay) and directed by first time feature director Thea Sharrock, knows what it is and has no qualms with embracing the tropes of the romantic drama genre. Its ultimate goal is to have tears flowing from your eyes as you leave the theater and if you are indeed buying a ticket to Me Before You and subsequently crying as the credits roll you are probably happy with said purchase. That is what audiences are looking for from a movie like this and for the most part, Me Before You delivers. What isn't necessarily expected from such a film, but that Me Before You tends to deliver in spades, is an endearing quality of humanity. It isn't anything new to find a relative nature to the characters at the core of the conflict in movies such as this, but with our two leads here Moyes smartly adds another layer to their relationship that takes it beyond being non-traditional and not just based on if issues of the heart will keep them together or draw them apart. Rather, this caveat elevates the story to one that forces us to contemplate the courage needed to redirect a life that has been thrown completely off course. That may sound slightly dramatic in itself given the tone this film initially takes on is quite affable, but when it comes down to it-when the relationship has been developed and the tears inevitably shed there is left a large amount of respect for Me Before You for not only embracing the recurring archetypes of its genre, but for daring to try to improve upon them. Whether this be through the act of stronger characterization in our female lead than typically seen, the sometimes downright dislikable nature of the male lead or the generally high quality of acting on display-there is something pedigreed and understated about the final product that allows skeptical audiences to appreciate its willingness to improve upon acknowledged tropes while pleasing the target audience in a way they may not have known to be possible before. All in all, Me Before You is a tearjerker that earns that title through improving on and adding to the familiar while still hitting every box on the genre checklist.

If you love movies like The Notebook or Sense and Sensibly , you will absolutely love this beautiful story of two people who in the process of making each others life better under tough circumstances , fall in love . Emily Clarke & Sam Chaffin head the cast bringing to life JOJO MOYES , 5+million best selling novel that took readers by storm. A sequel is already in play. Just a beautiful story you shouldn't miss. Kleenex will be mandatory.

So I bought this movie specifically for Emilia Clarke, it looked like we could see the personality we see in the behind the scenes for GoT that she's not allowed to have on the show. And we totally got to see it in this movie. She's a dork and I loved watching every scene of her. I'll have to marry her one day. Oh and the movie was really good too. Can't say a lot without spoilers actually. But if you love Emilia, check this out.

My girlfriend watched this with her friends and told me that it made her cries so much in the movie theater, I thought maybe I will buy it as a gift for her. When we finally pick this up and watched it together, we both ended up weeping like babies. It's just a beautiful love story that everyone should watch and experience. I strongly recommend it to anyone who is either looking for a holiday gift or just a valentine gift.

I bought this movie (even though it was not on sale during Black Friday/weekend). Emilia Clarke is a phenomenal actress and she did a fantastic job in this movie. My kids made me buy this movie after they read the book. The only thing I would complain was that the bluray container was broken when it arrived.

If you're not someone who likes a romance film...no surprise here, this film is likely not for you. But if you are someone who likes romance and most importantly drama- you will enjoy this film. Read the book - loved it. Saw the film - loved it even more. Of course there will be those who say the book is better than the film. However, I think they did a great job adapting!!

My daughter recommended this movie after hearing good reviews and I'm so glad we got it. The best movie I've seen in a while it's both funny and touching. A great story. I don't want to say much and ruin it for anyone but it's a must see. We bought it on Black Friday and already watched it two times in a month. Recommended it to a friend and she loved it too. Great story.

I enjoy films of all genres including romantic comedies. This film is a heartfelt story of a love between two people with challenges one financial and one extreme physical disability. The outcome is not necessarily unpredictable but the journey is beautiful and compelling. This is a film I will return to occasionally and get lost in all over again.

My daughter and son went to see this one in the movie theater and really enjoyed it. They even bought the book. So when it came out on Blu-Ray I had to buy it and check it out. I wasn't disappointed because although it doesn't have such a happy ending the story was excellent along with the acting. I really enjoyed this one and I know you will too.

How far can you go helping someone who thinks his or her life isn't worth anymore? Emilia Clarke character (Clark) shows us just that and how your life turns around in the process. This is not just another forgettable movie because it really teaches you and if you open your heart then the producers will think the mission was accomplished and the movie certainly will stay in your mind. Watch it with someone you really care about and you will see why.

The unperfect love story. Characters work very well together. Very happy and upbeat but the ending is the biggest tear jerker. I went through a box of Kleenex and I had read the book so I knew what was coming. Yet I watched it again and cried again. This is the perfect movie when you need an emotional release. I recommend this movie very highly.

This is such a beautiful modern love story with a twist I didn't see coming. By the time the movie was done I was a puddle of mush and salt water tears. This movie made me laugh and then cry. It's an emotionally moving flick that will keep you clamoring for more far after the credits roll. One of the best love flicks since the Notebook.

this is a good movie, it teaches the value of life and experience and the importance of not judging those who make decisions that you may not make yourself. Love and life are strong, enduring and fragile at the same time. No story better exemplifies this than Me Before You. It is well worth a watch with an open mind and an open heart.

I had not seen this movie in the theatres but had heard that it was a great movie and did well in the box office. Purchased this movie and watched and was way better than I had expected. If you are someone with sensitive emotions, definitely have some tissues around because it will get the tears flowing. Great movie!

Me Before You is one of the most painful yet beautiful films I have ever seen. Will Traynor had an horrible incident which has left him paralyzed. Will has giving up all hope until his caregiver Louisa Clark walks into his life. They embark in a journey that changes their lives forever. Definitely a must buy in my book.

I watched this movie in the theaters when it came out, not knowing what the story was about. I watched because I like Emilia Clarke and Sam Claflin. I enjoyed the acting and the story (but without giving too much of the story, I was expecting a different outcome). I just had to have it in my collection.

This is a good movie. If you read the book like I did, you will be disappointed to see many of the key moments in this story were left out. So my suggestions, watch the movie then read the book.
