I wish I grew up with the Mega Man series because these classic games are so much fun to play! My first exposure to playing Mega Man games was several years later and when I bought Mega Man 2 on Wii and later on Mega Man 7 and Mega Man X on Wii U. I enjoyed the games so much that I wanted to play more of them! When it was announced that the Mega Man Legacy 1+2 Collections were coming to the Nintendo Switch, I just had to buy them! Besides playing the classic Mega Man games, Capcom has created these fun challenges that you could do while re-playing some of the games. Examples like going through the stage within a time limit. Also, if you have the Smash Bros. 4 Mega Man amiibo and the Golden Mega Man amiibo, you can unlock new challenge modes in the game. Also, Capcom has added Save states and a rewind feature to each Mega Man game. If you mess up, you can rewind and retry a certain action again. Want to save at a certain place? You can add a save state to save your progress. I didn't experience any technical issues with the games. I've also provided a couple of photos showing off the case of the Legacy collections. Plus, it comes with a free cleaning cloth that has Mega Man and friends celebrating Mega Man's 30th Anniversary which is pretty neat. **The Half-Physical Half-Digital Release Controversy** There is a minor complaint that I have about the packaging of Mega Man Legacy 1+2 collections. The way Capcom handle the physical copies of the Legacy collections was an odd choice. I bought the physical copy of Legacy 1+2 because I prefer to buy physical games if possible. Capcom had Legacy 1 on a physical cartridge, while Legacy 2 was on a digital download code. I mean, what's the point of having a physical copy if you're only gonna have 1 physical while the other one's digital download? **Final Thoughts** Is getting the Mega Man Legacy 1+2 Collections worth playing and worth the price? I would say yes because you get all Mega Man games bundled together.

This game is wonderful. I CANNOT stop playing. This Game takes what I Loved about Megaman X and blew my mind. Not only does it show you rare demo drawings, licensed merch, and stuff probably never seen before, It has the "Day of Sigma" movie stuffed in as well. AND with the fun and very intuitive Dual Maverick Fight mode, its a fun new spin on a game franchise I love deeply. PLEASE, if you love Megaman, OR if you like a challenge, BUY THIS GAME.

And I love it too plus it keeps them from wrestling each other

I grew up with MegaMan X, and to a lesser extent MegaMan X4-6, so I have fond memories of these games. The MegaMan X series is loosely a continuation of MegaMan games, but none really have much of a story. You play as MegaMan X (or his red companion Zero from X4 on, or the newcomer Axl in X7-8) as he tries to put down out of control Reploids (replicate androids), each level is themed around their boss, and when you beat the boss you get a power inspired by them, which is usually strong against another boss. MegaMan X is an incredibly challenging game (but rewarding) with some great music. Don't expect much of a plot, and know that many believe the series got worse as it progressed (usually X4-X6 is said to be the downfall's beginning), but I personally enjoyed all the games enough.

This is a great collection of MegaMan X games. It plays very well in tablet mode; I haven't played connected to the TV yet, so I can't comment on how that works. I have heard mention of some minor input lag with this version, but I didn't notice any playing with it. One standout addition was the Novice Hunter mode, which is essentially an easy mode for the games. I found it helpful to play on this mode for about half an hour or so when I first started to get used to playing these games again, since I hadn't touched them for so long. It could also be fun if you have young children, so that they can play the same games you do without having a rough time with it. For adults, I would definitely recommend playing with a pro controller. I played in handheld for a bit, but the button layout was causing my hands to cramp up due to the small form factor of the joycons, so I ended up using the kickstand and playing with a pro controller instead. Finally, my major caveat: the cartridge in the box only includes X collection 1 (1-4). Collection 2 (5-8) is included as a download code. I have heard the PS4 version includes both games on a single blu-ray, and almost bought the collection on that platform because of it. I finally decided that off-TV play was more important than having a physical version of both, but it is worth noting that you don't actually get the whole collection in this box.

Great bundle and games . everything looks and plays as it should. slightly better picture if you put on the hd upscaling setting in game settings. if you like classic look you can always switch back to that pretty easily . brings back tons of memories playing megaman x on my super Nintendo. Well worth it for new players or old players looking to relive some classic games. also worth noting it has a challenge mode where you can pit yourself up against 2 bosses at a time, has music player mode so you can listen to the classic soundtracks for each game, and a museum of classic megaman artwork . 10 out of 10 recommend.

X is a series that I really enjoy, X1,2,4 are games I come back to often every year as they're fun to blast through. The collection here? It's a mixed bag. For one you don't get all the games- you have to download the rest which is immensely irritating. You buy games to not take up space on your tiny SD card, not some half and half nonsense. This is further annoying since the PS4/XB1 versions of the game come with another disc for the other half- AS DOES THE SWITCH VERSION in Japan, where it's sold together OR separate. No such options here. The second half of the collection is the larger of the two as well, setting at a hefty 6.6GB vs the first part at 2.9. As for the actual collection you do get a lot of stuff, merch pics, the ability to play the Japanese versions of games*** the anime from the PSP title (but not the actual PSP remake) and the XChallenge. (Japanese versions of the game do not have the original Japanese intros, infact Megaman X6's English intro which had japanese is entirely replaced. All commercials that had japanese have been removed as well). Nevermind changes to X4 where they have removed a 'potentially offensive scene' and darkened certain scenes to help not set off epileptic fits- something that isn't done to much more aggressive flashing in any point later in the game, cutscenes or otherwise. Sound emulation is off on the PS1 titles, it doesn't make it sound bad, but different. Sound effects seem to be much better mixed, where you can hear the enemies making noise where in the OG you couldn't. The issue is, the SNES titles (X1-3) do not save your game like the PS2 collection where it had a new screen to display your powerups and what not- it just remembers your password. So if you get the hadoken fill up etanks etc? Doesn't save that stuff. This is something they had on the PS2 collection but couldn't manage now, something the PS2 version also did was remove/lessen slow down in games- this one does not. The X-Challenge is pretty okay? You can't pick your fights, they're all preselected boss-rushes. You fight 3 sets of 2 enemies with a set number of lives and get to pick from 3 powers, and as X only, no Zero. Some fights are fine, others are INSANELY hard on the normal difficulty and Easy is TOO easy. The first half of this collection is pretty gold, X1 is great, X2 is also really good, X3 is ...alright, X4 is great. The second half is where the series got a bit funky....and bad. X5 is okay, X6 is the worst (with great music), X7 is runner up for worst, X8 is alright... I hope that explains the mixed bag part of the title. There's great games here, but the execution is lacking and half the collection is arguable in it's value should be on the cartridge, there's really no excuse for it not to be given the games that have easily fit. (their reason is so they can sell them on the store separately and they need different SKUs & physical versions to match, it's a poor excuse) Should you get it? I got it because I want portable Megaman X and while the games can be got on PSP/PSV you don't get the SNES titles, just the PS1 games. So, options are limited. Should you? That's up to you, hope this review was helpful.

This is great collection for Mega Man fans. All 8 Mega Man X games are packaged into this collection with lots of content including a music collection and an anime (Day of Sigma). The Switch port of this Legacy collection plays very well. However, my only nit pick with this collection is that X Legacy 1 is the only physical collection in the cartridge. Legacy 2 has to be downloaded with the download code provided (which is stated on the cover). So if you want to play every game in this collection, make sure you buy a new copy. Other than that, this is an excellent compilation to keep you busy for a while.

I'm 40 years old. If you remember these games when they first came out. You will not be disappointed. The only issue that i have with this release is not of the game itself. It's the way that it was released and executed by splitting up MMX1-4 and MMX5-8. Also, if you don't have at least 5GB on your system. You won't get the second half of the game since it's only available as a digital code. I like buying physical game still and this was a disappointment. Game play itself is good and the transitions plus difficulties are still there with some cool bonus stuff. It's worth double or triple dipping to purchase.

Although the second half of the collection isn't nearly as good as the first all the games other than 7 are solid to outstanding. The first 4 games easily justify the $40 price tag themselves especially when you look up the cost of original SNES carts for x2 and x3. This game also has a new mode the x battle mode where you take on 2 bosses at once, great fun and value pick this up.

Great games that have some of the best video game characters in history. The challenge is still there with Mega Man games have the most fun and tough side scrolling difficulty of any side scrolling game. Not necessarily the NES style difficulty, but manageable difficulty. Get this game!

Capcom has finally released the Mega Man X games. The collection is divided into 2 collections. On Switch Mega Man X collection 1 is on cart and then they give you a download code to download collection 2 from the Nintendo E-Shop. It's for that very reason why I am docking a star for the review. I can't imagine it being to difficult to put collection 1 and 2 on a 16 GB or smaller cart. X Box One and PS4 get both collections on separate disks but Switch owners buying physical just get the first game physically and have to download the second collection. I don't understand why Capcom keeps doing this other than trying to get more money out of the consumer. As for the games itself collection 1 is the star of the show with Mega Man X games 1-4. The museum mode has an amazing collection of bonus content from box art for all the games, figurines made, commercials from the games releases and an animated short film. The menus are smooth and there is a wealth of content including X Challenge mode that has you fighting bosses, 2 at a time from the various games mixed up. The only game I found to be almost unplayable was Mega Man X 7. Overall the collection holds up and there is some great added content. If you ever played Mega Man X and enjoyed it you owe it to yourself to pick this collection up. Mega man 7 aside I would recommend this game.

Being a Mega Man can I love that I can take this collection with me everywhere I go on the Switch. Love replaying all the classics and really enjoy the additional features such as double boss battles to up the challenges. Great game collection and a must play for all fans

This series is a must have for any switch owner, Youll get x1-x4 on a physical cartridge and a download code for x5-x8. the x5-x8 will need 6gb of storage. the game has some cool features like textured lines to mimic the old tv or smoothing effect.

I grew up playing this series of games all the time. I'm glad to have the ability to play them again. Especially with the portability of the Switch. I forgot how quick your reflexes need to be, and how much you will need to repeat levels to memorize how to get through. The music is awesome on these games.

I love the Mega Man X games, especially X1, X2, and X4. This collection has not disappointed me. Its great to be able to play all of the X games on the go. Hopefully, this will sell well enough that Capcom will make a MegaMan X9 in the near future.

This is a fantastic compilation game that's only hurt by the fact that a download is required to access half the games. Download aside, this is a fantastic buy and an awesome collection especially if you've never played the Megaman X series.

Capcom has done a great job bringing this port of the Mega Man X games to the Switch. My only complaint is that Capcom has yet again only put half of the games onto the cartridge and the rest of the games are only available via a download code. Other than that, the games play great!

I would recommend any collection that included Mega Man X. It's one of the greatest games of all time. Adding in the other X games makes it that much better. The downside is the second collection being a download.

I've been playing Megaman since the very first one on Nintendo and this collection doesn't disappoint. Everything is packaged up together and gives you great options to play in easy, normal, or hard mode. When I was a kid I used to use the Game Genie to make it easier because Megaman X was crazy hard. That's not an option any more, but easy mode is a nice way to play in the middle and have fun while maintaining the challenge. Oddly enough, after playing my way through the whole package, Megaman X was the hardest to play still, even in easy mode. The others you'd take in less damage, while in X you still took on plenty! I'll play this for years, and hopefully more Megaman games come in the future!
