Megaforce is one of those movies you can't help but love, not because it's good, but because it's just that bad. The entire plot centers around a pair of fictitious countries that are at war and the Megaforce is called in to help... who also just HAPPEN to be around the same area at that time. They operate sort of like Men In Black, above the law, no trace they exist and can pretty much go where they want, when they want. The plot itself isn't very deep at all and at some point, you're only going to be watching it for the vehicle battles which are actually not that bad. There are dirt bikes with missiles, dune buggies with lasers, mobile command centers with remote controls to the smaller vehicles, and an air dropped refueling weapon depot. It's something straight out of GI Joe.

The basic plot is a about a Clandestine Army that is base in what could be the Nevada Desert that is Bank roll and supply high End Sci fly Army Vehicles by various world Nations. This Army (''MEGA FORCE'') is called in to action when A Peaceful Mid East Country is invade by a neighbor Mid East Country. This is the DVD of a movie I used to watch back on TBS and occasionally on VHS back in the 80s. In fact, I bought this as a birthday gift for my friend and we watched it for the first in at least 20 years. This is a campy, 80s movie about a quick-deploy super paramilitary force, lead by Barry Bostwick as Ace Hunter. Think GI Joe, but with flowing hair and spandex. It's squarely in the "so bad it's good" category, but it's a fantastic ride anyway. Great gadgets, decent special effects (at least for 1982) and if you liked movies from the period such as Buckaroo Banzai, Critters, Spacehunter, Krull, Ice Pirates, and the like, this is a movie for you.

'80s cheese so good they even had their own line of Mattel diecast cars. I grew up with this movie and even had some of the diecast cars as a kid. I finally pulled the trigger to add it to my movie collection.
