I bought this more for the power bank and look at the speaker as a bonus, it worked for 2 weeks and then would not charge. Took it back to Best Buy and they would not do anything!!! Waste of $20

Worst speaker ever! I purchased the speaker and 3 weeks later, it wouldn't charge. I've tried many different chargers but no luck.

I bought this this speaker with the intent of using it as a travel companion, hoping that it would fill in for my Sony SRS-X3 (great speaker BTW) when I was away. I did not have high standards for this speaker, but I thought I would give it a try and see what I could get out of it. First thing, appearance and ergonomics. I liked the way the speaker felt, and I was surprised by the mass on this thing. I assume this to be the metal body and large battery's doing, but it felt good, and initial impressions were good. The rubber flap to access the charging port was difficult to lift, and turning it on, it was a little odd with the controls. Power on was fine, the battery indicator lights work great, but the volume up and down threw me for a loop. "+" skipped the song forward, and "-" went back. To change the volume, you had to hold the button down, and it left me with a vague feeling about volume level, something I wasn't really used to. I eventually just changed volume on my phone for simplicity. Off to a strange start, I thought I'd play some tunes and give it a go, but this is where it really fell apart. TO BE CLEAR, the sound that came from this speaker is acceptable, but it doesn't quite live up to other reviews I read on this product. The speaker itself has a 1x3W speaker, and I assume a passive radiator, that would give it better "bass" (more on that in a minute) than you might expect from a tiny speaker. That being said, the single driver falls on it's face if trying to play anything that gets "busy." Listening to something like Warren G's "Regulator" sounded good and clear, almost enjoyable, with decent bass. No, you won't get Bose levels of bass here, maybe just something like a hum from a bass guitar, but nothing with a thud, definitely not going to feel it from the speaker (unless you are holding it, then you can feel the little thing try). Switching to something like Woodkid's "Iron" though, just didn't sound clear or very good for that matter. Higher volumes made this more apparent, and is eventually why I returned the speaker. Other features like speaker phone worked well and sounded pretty good on the receiving end, but got complaints from the other user that they couldn't hear me. I gave it a go myself, and I couldn't hear anything much either. Definitely a no-go. Now, this is acceptable of this kind speaker, especially at a sale price, but anything more expensive (or full price) and I would turn it down in a heartbeat. The nail in the coffin for me was BestBuy's own INSIGNIA brand bluetooth speaker. For $9.99 (at the time of this review), I got something that sounded much cleaner and, to my ears, pleasant. There really wasn't any bass, but it never really pretended to have any to begin with, and for $10, I was thoroughly impressed. The vocals were clear and at higher volumes, there was really no distortion. Volume controls controlled my iPhone volume, and were very clear and easy to understand. $10 sounded pretty good to me, and more importantly, was something I would be okay leaving in a hotel room on accident if I had to, rather than my Sony (only because they don't make it anymore, and it sounds better IMO than what Sony has to offer these days). Of course though, sound is subjective. These are just my thoughts.

At the cost of it, I thought it going to sound good but lacking bass, but this took me by surprise. The bass on this is insane. It is similar to a JBL Flip 4 speaker, but without the ruggness and waterproofing. And it doesn't stop there, there a port to charge your devices and that is what the JBL Flip 4 doesn't have. At this price, its worth every penny, as long as i don't get it wet or drop.

Yes, for the money, best quality BT speaker ever. Sound is crisp. Battery life is "off the chain". After only 1-charge, been playing non-stop for over 15-hours. Battery indicator still shows full-charge. Bomb!
