works OK but skips and sometimes turns it's self off.

The anti-skip feature did not work, even when immobile.

What a wonderful memory to bring back! This Memorex personal portable CD player is barely larger than a CD and so lightweight. It comes with the needed 2 AA batteries (optional power adapter not included) and wired earbuds with extra ear tips. There are no speakers on this unit. Open the top and pop in your cherished CD, close lid and press play. The sound is not amazing but it is surprisingly better sounding than I thought it would be! It’s very good for what it is & very clear. There are some settings you can change like to repeat the whole cd over and over or repeat 1 song or shuffle. You can also program specific tracks and the order the tracks play in if you choose. To change the sound, there is a very basic equalizer that didn’t seem to really do too much. There is also electronic skip protection. I actually didn’t see this existed at first and was able to turn the unit upside down, sideways and I shook it. It continued to play even turned upside down and sideways without issue. When I shook it, it very briefly stopped playing and then started right where it was. This is a fine, little, good sounding CD player. If you’re in the market for an item like this, I would highly recommend it!

Will not stay closed properly allowing gapping which causes it to keep stopping and starting the CD over from the beginning. Other reviews mentioned this...should have listened. Now I tape it shut which works but not cool for a brand new player.

Nice but you can only hear while wearing earphones

It did not work I put the cd in the player with new batteries and it did not play at all Just dead. I payed for nothing. I am taking it back.

The CD player is fine for around the yard/in house. The 60 second anti-skip allows you to move the CD player around without interrupting the music. I was a bit confused by the packaging stating the CD player had a 5V Power adapter and the unit say’s 4.5V. The CS Player is light weight but does not have a slot for a carry strap, or a pouch to hang it off your body. The sound quality is ok with the provided ear buds. The CD player had a problem playing some of my more used CD’s, there was no problem playing any of the new or like new CD’s. The Equalizer is minimal with 3 settings. I did not notice any difference in the playback on each setting. The program feature allows you select the order of the playback. The CD player had large easy to identify buttons for next track, previous track, and fast forward.

Didn't work very well in the car volume would not go up that loud i had my volume full blast and you couldn't hear it with the windows down i took it back

The play is not user-friendly. The buttons are not clearly labeled and the sound quality is disappointing. Depending on intended uses, may not be a good purchase.

Bought it back in August by October 12 it cut out skip. I replaced the batteries and had the same problem. Sorry I did not get the replacement warranty going back any way to see what Best Buy can do for me been a customer for over 20 years never had problems until now. But so far this I will not recomend this to anyone

Memorex has made a Personal CD player, not too much different from ones made many years ago. The sound via the mandatory earbuds is solid; I noticed no skips, even when moving around. However, my issue is there is no speaker, and no Bluetooth, so you are forced to use headphones or the included earbuds. The player would have been so much better if you could just listen off the device. It runs on 2 AA batteries and has 3 EQ presets, but I did not find a significant difference at any of the settings. All this said the price is very low, and if you have a big CD library you can't go wrong unless you dislike earbuds.

This purchase was fine. However I have major issues with the Geek Squad on another $300 purchase of a car radio and installation and have not been able to resolve it with Customer Care and the Geek Squad after "chatting" online for over 45 minutes last night. I have NOT been asked for a review on that purchase for some reason.

Bought two in case one failed down the line. First one stopped working after 6 hours. Second one would not play a disc at all. Totally bummed. Memorex not responding to warrantee. Have had Memorex players before and had success. Not sure what is going on.

Received the CD player on 9/1/21 and it stopped working on 9/30/21. Call the company on 10/1 and talked to Zach who confirmed it was defective and said he would email a return authorization. It is now 10/9/21 and I had not heard anything from the company. Very disappointed in the company and Best Buy for dealing with them.

The portable CD player has already stopped working. Not sure why it's no longer working. :(

Cheap sound. You get what you pay for. Wouldn't buy again.

Not the most ergonomic CD player but I enjoy the anti-skip because I do remember walking funny from class to class with a CD player in my pocket (huge) just so it wont skip my favorite parts. You've got to really appreciate the small things. Also, there's something about the sound a CD has that's different than a digital file. All in all I would recommend simply because it was built right. I like that it has the ability to play MP3's as well. It's a very simple piece of tech and it has very basic functions. This is the perfect vehicle for a trip down memory lane.

I was really disappointed in this item. The quality was of the sound and ease of use were awful. It was a complete waste of money. I bought it for a trip and didn't return until after the 15 day time period required to return or exchange the item.

Very dissapointing. I didn't like the sound quality.
