Convenient small set anywhere and listen Quality sound and plenty of volume through earpieces. Great features for a simple device, play all tracs, play random tracs, choice of sound quality. My wife likes listening with the ear buds. I gave it 4 stars because I prefer an external speaker which I have but creates an extra part. No problem though I recommend it either way a nice small inexpensive cd player really enjoy.

Doesn’t spin CD after 3 days of use. Totally useless. When it did “work” the door kept saying it was open and start the CD over again. I also bought this for a review course with CDs but it’s useless and still I cannot review.

A cheap flimsy way to get nostalgic and portable..

The Memorex products aren't exactly known for being examples of cutting edge product design, and I'm not even 100% sure that the Memorex company is producing these products, or if its just a licensee of the brand creating cheap electronics, but that being said, if you're still looking for a way to take your favorite newfangled "Compact Discs" on the road with you. The playback capabilities were solid, and the audio jack was fine when used with higher-end headphones, like my Beats Studio 2's and their AUX cable... There's a very specific reason I mention that -The included headphones are awful and even crackle when plugged into the port - To the point that I thought the audio port itself was defective upon use. Turns out the included headphones just aren't worth it. Rubbish! The unit functions well enough - The anti-skip works well as long as you don't knock the device around too much, and the controls are a bit mushy but this isn't a high-priced product. This isn't a Sony Discman competitor, but Sony stopped making those a few decades ago. If you have a need for a new portable CD player in 2020, this is your only option, so I'd recommend. With your own headphones its a passable and functional replacement for the players of yore.

It quit working after a few hours of listening. A change of batteries did not help. I do not know what to do about this unfortunate situation. Please help!

Nostalgia for me, toy for my kids

So right to the point, I've owned a lot of portable CD players growing up from the super high-end Sony car discman units to nice looking units from Panasonic that cost a lot less with similar features. I've never owned anything as cheap and flimsy as this Memorex unit. In fact, I'm surprised it even works at all! It just shows you how much tech regression can occur for a tech to still work. That being said, this thing is really like I said, nothing more than a toy for children, or nostalgia for someone who has a CD collection or used to have a portable CD player. They really found the bottom of the barrel pricing for such a unit and made it. Here's the major lowlights: 1) No RCA or digital output to attach to a higher-end AMP or DAC. Just a 3.5mm headphone jack. 2) Can't even see the spinning disc through a window so less exciting for my kids. 3) Sound is lower quality than lossless digital formats even with a CD. 4) No wireless headset connectivity methods (BT) 5) No access to wifi or other streaming media or even radio (to be fair, most CD players did not have FM/AM either). Its CD and CD only. If you've read this far you are probably thinking...yeah I'm just going to stick to streaming music from my phone and ripping my songs from the CDs I still have. So despite its shortcomings, I'm giving it high reviews because it did invoke a sense of nostalgia to be able to play a CD in a handheld device, and my kids are absolutely fascinated by it. That joy alone is worth the asking price!

Terrible design and operations. Zero memory for short stops. Loud clicks for any operations. Occasional and random start/stops. Basically a piece of crap. Don't even think of buying this.

I've got loads an loads of CD's that I've digitized into my music collection. It was fun to pull some of them back out and listen again in their original format. The Memorex personal CD player is a great little player for reminiscing through your old CD collection. Playback quality is good and the EQ presets (Rock, Pop, Surround) have noticeable different audio dynamics. The included wired earbuds fit surprisingly well for an inexpensive set. Much better than ones I've spent a fair amount on in the past. I played a number of discs of the course of an afternoon using the included AA batteries. Not sure how long a set of batteries will last but these are still going strong. There is a power jack (box says 5V and unit says 4.5V) to use but you have to supply your own adapter. I also like that there was a random play mode and the ability to program the order you want the tracks to play. The unit did have a little bit of trouble playing a discs having even light surface scratches. It also struggled quite a bit playing a disc that looked to be in really good condition. Works great with near perfect CD's but seems to have some difficulty with a few or more scuffs/scratches.

I am one who loves “new school,” but I am very much a fan of “old school” too! This little hidden asset punches with a big bang in a sentimental-retro way! The performance of this CD player is great as it gives out decent sound when playing CDs. I have a bunch of CDs mainly from the 80s as I feel was the best era of music, but my collection does include both 60’s and 70’s music too. Additionally, the inner-ear buds are a plus as this is my primary preference when listening to music, they are very comfortable for easy listening as they come in small, medium and large. In summary, this CD player affords an easy plug and play type of experience which is truly an enjoyable experience if you’re one who enjoys taking a step back in time!

CD players in 2020 are like Walkmans for people 20 years ago. Except CDs still retain the purest form of lossless sound compared to music streaming platforms. And so to take around a Memorex portable CD player on your commute to work (once Covid-19 things start to hopefully die down), you'll be garnering all the attention you may or may not have wanted because you're bringing back the old ways. All of the buttons work, CDs play as they should, and this just brings you back at an affordable price.

I still own an extensive CD collection but CD players are becoming scarce - you wont find them in newer autos for example. Well, this device will solve your mobile cd playing problem. It works really well, sounds good, and the anti-skip feature is very effective. The included headphones sound good and cone with multiple inserts to accommodate various ear canal sizes. I am still waiting for that mini stereo cable to arrive so I can connect it to my portable bluetooth speaker (in the car).
