    • The glasses maintain a classic Wayfarer-style look (Ray-Ban) and succeed at blending wearable-tech with “normal” eyewear. This helps with social comfort. For example, reviewers noted the outward light leakage is just about ~2% so the display isn’t obvious to bystanders. • The display is tucked into the right lens (i.e., one eye) and sits just off the central line of vision so as not to block your normal view. • The display claims a 600 × 600 pixel resolution and ~20° field-of-view (FOV). • Brightness rating is impressive: up to 5,000 nits according to Meta. This is bright by wearable display standards. • On the electronics front: the glasses include a full custom projector + waveguide lens system, which is cutting-edge in terms of optics for this form-factor. (A teardown by iFixit confirms the waveguide technology and the seriousness of the engineering). Display & use case • In usage, folks found the text in the display very readable (despite being small) when indoors or under moderate lighting. • Because the display is off-center, you can still easily maintain your view of the real world; the overlay appears more as a small “floating window” rather than dominating your vision. This is beneficial for mixed reality / information glance use. • The fact the display is hidden from outsiders is a nice privacy/social feature — you don’t sport a giant glowing screen in front of your eye. • The glasses bundle broader smart-features (camera, voice/AI assist, gesture controls via a wristband) which amplifies what the display enables.

There's a lot to impact with these glasses. The ordering process is ridiculous. I had to fly to a Best buy over a thousand miles away just to do a demo, only to find out after the demo! They didn't have any in stock to sell me. They wouldn't even sell me one and then I wait for it to show up a few months later. I couldn't pre-order. Ridiculous. I had to wait until finally I was invited to buy... Lol. Anyhow these glasses are very very neat new technology. The display in the lens is fantastic. Super adjustable for angle brightness position and all those things that you care about. The sound is very very good. I bought some aftermarket silicone slip-on noise diverters that pipe the sound over my ear holes and it's quite loud. Very good stereo, very good base. As far as the glasses go these are in their infancy. They have a few apps, not very many. I've been able to integrate them and get them all to work after much difficulty. But they're lacking the robustness they need to have. Like on messages I can read a text but I can't click a link I can't see a picture in the message, however what's not does let me see a picture. Anyhow they're working out the technology. And like any technology the leading edge is the bleeding edge. These are expensive and I'm going to patiently wait for meta to improve them drastically. They do function though very well. The neural band works very well. Once you train yourself on about five or six different things is easy to manipulate it to do what you want it to do without having to touch anything. I rarely rarely touch the side of the glasses to do anything except to turn them on and off. I'm not a fan of the contact charger for the wristband. Prefer induction. And I'm also not a fan of meta AI. Med AI is very basic and in it in its infancy on learning and understanding and giving decent information. Asking meta to identify the picture of something I took, unless it has text, doesn't work usually very well at all. But I know meta is pouring billions into AI and they will catch up to Gemini after a while. It would also be nice if they could show a video or a web page on these glasses, not to watch a video fully or to explore a web page fully, there's not enough detailed resolution for a lot of that, but to be able to display a part of a video would be very very helpful. For example I want to if I'm working on a car and I want to know how to take the alternator off a specific model, I should be able to ask meda AI to display a YouTube video showing the removal part of the alternator. As an example. Same with recipes and cooking and lots of other things. I'm not returning them and that should say a lot about how much I like them. I just hope Meta follows through with a development and improving meta AI. Their VR glasses the quest 3 is amazing. I've used over a dozen different VR glasses over the last 10 years and these are by far the most superior for the buck hands down. I'm hoping better puts that much energy into these display glasses because they are the future, and they may very well be a cell phone replacement someday. There you go That's a good one

Dude, seriously, this Best Buy launch is a total disaster. I'm in Tennessee, and there's a store in Brentwood that supposedly does demos. I went on October 3rd, and guess what? No wait for a demo, I just did it right then and there. I paid for the glasses, and the rep said they'd ship by October 13th or 14th. October 14th rolls around, and I get an email saying it's delayed. I paid $800, and Best Buy's just holding our money hostage, not even offering anything for our patience. They were quick to take my money, though. And the customer service? Forget about it. You can't even talk to anyone in the store anymore. They stopped that back in 2020, I was told by an employee. The worst part is, the rep usually deals with people with thick accents who barely speak English. I keep getting mixed messages, like my package is at a warehouse, you'll get it by this date, then it's delayed. I just called customer service to see if I'd get a different answer. No one's been consistent about where my stuff is. I told them how frustrated people are who bought those Meta display glasses, how we didn't even need an appointment to try them, and the rep said, "Well, that's what Best Buy management told us in training." I've got screenshots of chats with Best Buy agents saying my package is at a warehouse near me, or it'll be here overnight, or it's delayed until October 28th, and if I don't get it, I'll get a refund. I asked what if I don't want a refund, what if I want to wait? They said I'd get a refund whether I like it or not, basically. I don't know if Best Buy even reads the reviews or cares. I think the only way they'll respond is if this gets on the news, so the whole country sees it. I wonder if the company itself even knows what's going on with Best Buy and how frustrated customers are when they were promised a ship date and got nothing. Are they even aware that customers paid almost $1,000 for those glasses, only to be told they're delayed and they're "working on it"? Basically, you'll get it when you get it, and if not, you'll get your money back. Then, if you still want the glasses, who knows when you'll get them? Anyone reading this should check out the Reddit page about the Meta display glasses to see what others are saying. Dude, if Best Buy had just been straight with us and said those display glasses might take a while, most of us would be cool with it. But they gave us a ship date, and then it got pushed back? That's what's annoying, you know? Best Buy's marketing and communication skills are seriously lacking.

The technology is still a bit beta and if you intend to use these synced with an iPhone for emails or Outlook, there’s vast room for improvement. However, my primary warning to anyone interested in these is how they fit. I own the previous generation of Meta glasses and they fit perfectly. These slide down the bridge of my nose all day and there’s no real remedy to fix the problem. There’s too much tech in the arms to heat them in order to adjust. Buying alternative nose pieces doesn’t work because the charger will knock them off and the ear pieces you can buy would look dumb. It clear the weight in the front of the frames is an issue even though I don’t notice it. The charging can be an issue too. There have been a couple cases where the glasses and case drained even though I wasn’t using them. These issues wouldn’t be sure a huge concern if it weren’t for the price. So buyer beware!

The Display The in-lens display is generally described as bright, clear, and subtle. It can show notifications, photo previews, live captions, and navigation directions without being overwhelming. Many find the ability to glance at info without pulling out their phone really useful. Hands-Free Communication Features like reading and replying to messages, and even taking video calls, without taking out your phone are highlighted as a major benefit

I bought meta display glasses after driving 240 mi (to do demo. Then I waited 90 days to receive order. After I received product, I used it for close to 1 week before display glasses wouldn't charge properly in case. I went to Best buy and unfortunately had to return item since product was defective. Then since my local Best buy could replace or sell me new meta display I later had to drive 240 mi to do demo again so I xould be put on list waiting for invite. Its been 2 weeks and still waiting to be invited t9 sales evemt. I am trying to remain positive about product but I dont think my situation is being handled right by Meta.... Im have owned facebook ray ban and gen1 meta glasses with no problem w8th those but my confidence in meta display product and Meta ia shaken. I am tech savy but this situation is highly disappointing

They are prey cool and futuristic, it had great features, sadly many of those limited by the availability of apps and or features, such as the walking navigation, which includes only a small number of cities. The wristband it’s a bit uncomfortable for the needed positioning and how tight you must wear it. Also, at times can be frustrating to connect and/or use. The display feels like “witchcraft” and obviously it’s the most attractive feature. On and all, 4 out of 5 stars.

Overall its nice, but maps only works in select cities. Will search and find addresses easily, but if not in California or miami it will send the directions to your phone and not use the glasses. And while looking at the map the direction indicator is stuck looking southeast. Closed captions messes up frequently so not sure how well the translator will work especially if you are not familiar with the language. Has alot of potential, tried to return it but just missed the return window. So hopefully updates to the map and translator come out to make it better!

It’s a fair attempt for a first gen product. The features are there but until they expand on their app features like turn by turn direction via glasses these are just a novelty and you are better off just buying the gen 2.

It took some time to get them, but I absolutely adore them. The only downside I can think of is that when you place the glasses in the charger, it can scratch the middle of the frame, which isn’t ideal. To protect it, you’ll need a liner, so I recommend getting one.
