I really liked it. I thought the second album was better but wasn't disappointed. I feel my blood boil as the music consumes my ears. I just want to drive faster and faster but I'm stuck in traffic. Yet I am happy as I wake up banging my head on the way to work. The coffee helped too. Get it, play it loud, and enjoy.

Not "more of the same." Great album!

THIS ...IS...DETHKLOK!! A refreshing new album that isn't plagued by a "more of the same" feel or sound that one could expect from a band on their third album. This is an evolved group. Transitions are crisp, riffs have gotten a little more dynamic, and vocals are well seasoned.
Don't get me wrong, you'll know that it's Dethklok. It doesn't detract so far from the previous two albums that it's a turn off. Either by accident or with some sense of thoughtful purpose, these guys have captured the essence of a few other bands. Or better yet, as I did, you might even think that they've done a collaboration with other bands as you listen to the album. Song 5 (Starved) has a Meshuggah feel to it, while still being very much Dethklok. Song 12 (Rejoin) has a little Machine Head vibe. Again, still be very much Dethklok. I can't say it enough, they've evolved and they're just...better.
I'm not a great source for an epic death metal review, but I just. front man and other things got in the way of that. Maybe next time. Until then, I'll appreciate a great album from a band that's only getting better. They harp on their good qualities and smack you in the hears with what they do best. Oh yeah, and their front man is still awesome!
