Great Addition to a Great Series

The latest addition to the Metro series meets all expectations and brings new excitement to the game series. The sandbox style approach to the game is quite different from previous installments, but it works and brings a whole new experience to what was already a thrilling, and terrifying story. Anyone into the series will love the game, anyone looking to try a new series will enjoy it as well. The only hiccups are some new UI/Map interface additions that were not present in other games and can make things a bit confusing during gameplay. Other than that, the story moves a good pace and presents the player with new challenges they were not able to experience in the previous two games.

Metro Exodus is a first person shooter and the 3rd game in the Metro series (2033 & Last Light). Exodus takes our main character out of the Moscow underground and above, into the world. In this game there is a more open world, non linear feel to the adventure. *minor spoilers You will travel by rail through Russia's country side. Taking you to 3 different open world maps along the way. The game play is very good and if you like Metro you will enjoy this one as well. I have played all 3 Metro games on XBox and this is one of the best. Scavenging is still a must as resources and ammo are in short supply. The variety that the open world gives is a much more free experience. You no longer are forced to fight everything in your path, as there are many paths and options to each target. The radiation and mask/filter use are a bit toned down compared to previous titles, which I actually was thankful for. Pros-The atmosphere and gameplay are very much enjoyable. Cons-Load times are a bit rough and save points can be a bit challenging. Overall a great game and would recommend to Metro fans or anyone who enjoys non-twitch shooters.

The game is fun and graphics are amazing! The game’s atmosphere is rich and engaging. I had a good time playing it. Good the day and night system I like that I’m able to customize weapons.

I've been thoroughly enjoying this game. I played Metro 2033 and Metro Last Light a few years ago, so I was super pumped when they announced Metro Exodus. I like it better than the first two, and that's saying a lot, because I really enjoyed them! I like the sandbox style of this game and it's cool that the majority of it is not in the metro. It just sets it apart from the other two. There's a few issues here and there (the biggest of which is getting hung up on something when moving around, particularly when sneaking) but the good out-weighs the bad in my opinion.

Just a beautiful game! some of the best graphic locations I’ve seen on Xbox. The story is great, fast pace, and interesting. The guns have interchangeable parts and feel realistic

As others have said, it has great graphics and a good story. The shooting is not as responsive as some other games but not enough to take away the enjoyment.

This a must buy for anyone that enjoys shooters, interesting monsters, dark atmosphere and a great story. I bought this due to my love for Fallout, and was not disappointed. My one and only gripe with the game is that you can't control the movement of the character as fluid as some other shooters (ie. Far Cry). The new feature to have the backpack that allows you craft certain ammo, and change scopes, barrels etc on the fly. This feature will be loved by any gamer that is also a gun nut!

This game is truly a huge evolution for the series. This is a stunning story driven survival FPS. It incorporates the previous survival gameplay elements with sandbox open world gameplay for a truly refreshing take on the series. Graphically one of the best games on the market, and it plays as good as it looks. A must play, even if you've never played a Metro game before.

I purchased Metro Exodus on PC, but being unable to find a GPU in today's market, yet having found an Xbox Series X, I grabbed this game. Pre-patch this game ran very well, but lacked some of the more ambitious ray-traced lighting effects and shadowing of it's more advanced PC counterpart. With the patch installed the game runs at just under 4K (somewhere between 1600 and 1800p). But the biggest enhancement is the how much more realistic characters and the environments look with ray tracing. The game is still equally as performant, running at 60fps, and is a great shooter and example of what the Series consoles are capable of. Well that is until the new Unreal Engine 5 games start coming out as soon as next year. All around if you are a fan of the Metro series, or like me didn't really dive into the series until this game, I highly recommend grabbing this game. On clearance this game is a great value, but consider the Series X edition that already has the patch included on disc as well as all of the extra DLC if you are interested in the extended story and levels.

I’ve played the 2 previous metro games and this one is still as good. Besides the graphics being one of the cleanest in the series the gameplay is a little slow. Movement is slow and combat is slow. I thought it could be faster when aiming and shooting multiple enemies. Just seems a little off. Once you get use to the pace of the game it’s a great adventure with more gameplay than the previous games.

Amazing graphics on the XBOX 1 X. The story is excellent and the characters are memorable. The combat and exploration is fantastic for a shooter because they have done such a wonderful job with the world, set pieces, and enemies. Shooting isn't as snappy as say Call of Duty or Battlefield but its great for single player and doesn't take away from the overall experience.

Great Shooter in an Immersive world

The metro series has always been good for building an interesting story in a desperate world, But Metro Exodus broadens the scope. Its builds on player exploration, freedom of choice, great shooting and survival tactics in a very immersive world. Take your time with this one and absorb it all in, and your will be rewarded with a great game.

From the Underground to the Surface

Metro Exodus takes you out of the confined corridors of the Metro & lets you explore vast dangerous landscapes full of radiation, dangerous creatures, bandits, and even cannibals. Every inch of the world is full of rich detail that fully immerses you in these large environments. While the game isn't open world per se, there are multiple large maps that are completely open to the player to complete story missions, side missions, find collectibles, etc., however they wish. You're not guided down a narrow path, but the journey is completely up to you as to how you wish to complete it. In addition, the choices that you make, not all of which are entirely predictable, will determine the ending to the game. While Metro Exodus isn't completely flawless, as I have had a few crashes on Xbox One X, and the aiming feels off at first -- though you do get used to it, I feel that Metro Exodus is still an absolute masterpiece. The amount of detailed crammed into every inch of this world, into every conversation & interaction, etc., is beyond anything else that I've played this year.

Then you’ll love this one. If you’ve never played a Metro game, it’s not your average FPS. It’s heavilly story driven and the controls are a little clunky compared to a COD or Destiny, but that’s the point of it.

Good shooter game with a above average story-line. The controls could have been better but the special effects were on superb. I would recommend but it is not a classic material game.
