game is fun plus the edition has neat stoof like CD

It's good. For what it is. Metroid always demands the best from the collectors. Yet for some reason this game has not been as popular as anticipated. The story feels new. Try it. You may like it.

As a longtime fan of Metroid this game surpassed my expectations. Samus controls beautifully, she has new abilities that freshen up the classic 2D gameplay, and the game is great for either speedrunning or taking your time and searching for items. Highly recommend playing on a 3DS system as the 3D effect works better than I've seen in any other game! (The special edition doesn't add anything amazing, just a sound CD with a pretty good selection of Metroid tunes, and some cute reversible box art that makes the game look like Metroid 2 on Game Boy. Whether that's worth paying extra is up to you. I like mine.)

13 years later, and we finally got a classic 2D Metroid, and it's great! Who would have thought? It has a fantastic soundtrack, featuring remixed tracks from multiple Metroid games that sound better than ever. The graphics look nice, held back a little by the hardware but the art style shines. Not to mention, it probably has the best 3D implementation of any 3DS game released. If you're a Metroid fan, buy this game now! And if you aren't, you're in for a great experience.

For a flat 2D game, with enhance visuals and new mechanics, Nintendo somehow pulled it off into a 3D modern game. The color/designs are fantastic and the music is nostalgic. Aside from the game, the special edition box art/presentation is beautiful with metallic colors that pops and reflects, even amiibos are of good quality. Nintendo really outdid themselves with this release for a remake.

A true return-to-form for the greatest game franchise of all time. Nintendo truly hit this one out of the park. This masterful remake of Metroid 2: Return of Samus pays homage and respect to it's source material all while innovating in all the right ways. If this is any indication of things to come - I am so excited to see where Nintendo takes this fantastic franchise! #BringBackMetroid!

As a fan of the Metroid series, I felt this was an exciting adventure that took Samus back to her roots while improving on the 2D mechanics of previous games. The graphics could be better, but that would require more capable hardware. The story introduces new facets to the lore and has me asking for a new mission.

Love this special edition which brings me back to my first Metroid. The new animation and mechanism in the game are quite balanced with both challenge and joys.

The pack ins look fantastic and will look great with your collection. Do store pick up if you can though, mine got shipped a bit roughed up.
