I just really like this movie. I have watched it a few times over the years and recently purchased it on Blu-Ray and it looked awesome. This is one of Liam Neeson's best movies, in my opinion. Strong performances by Stephen Rea and Aidan Quinn and others. I think that most of the major events in Michael Collins are historically accurate and I am also sure that there is much Hollywood story telling as well. I highly recommend this movie.

A GREAT PERFORMANCE BY LIAM NEESON WHO RE-ENACTED THE LIFE OF MICHAEL COLLINS WHOSE FIGHTING TACTICS BECAME A MODEL FOR 20th CENTURY STRUGGLES. A HISTORIC STORY OF IRELAND'S FIGHT FOR POLITICAL FREEDOM FROM ENGLAND AND THE COST OF THIS FREEDOM.

This is an excellent, well-written film with great cinematography, acting, and music. The director's commentary is also very insightful and worth your time.

Great historical movie with Liam Neeson as the main character.

I ordered a new Michael Collins DVD. When I played it and at the middle of the film, the disc began to stop then play then stop again. Upon removing the disc, I noticed several scratches on the disc. This was suppose to be a brand new disc. I played other disc that I have without any problems.

The movie was based on a biography of Michael Collins exploits as an Irishman who wanted Ireland free of the Royal British rule. It portrayed the violence the British did to the Irish population including women and children and the violence the Irish resistance did to not only the British but the Irish that collaborated with the Brits. Excellent movie
