My daughter attends college and needed to have Microsoft office on hand plus she can utilize it on many computers! So happy we purchased the office 365 home plus she was able to get a discount for being a student

It took me awhile to come to terms with a subscription vs. "buying" Office. What you by is a license to use on one device. It is not like buying a tool you can use anywhere. Buying 365 Home gives you 6 licenses and is always up to date with any new version..

If you simply want to save documents to your hard drive, there are too many extra steps that you have to remember to take since everything automatically saves to the cloud. On top of that, you have to constantly log in to access your documents that are in the cloud.
