Customers love the 365 Family subscription for its ease of use, compatibility across multiple systems, and great price. Many appreciate its performance, software features, and cloud storage capabilities. Installation is straightforward, and users value the regular updates and tools like Excel. However, some customers dislike the yearly subscription model, and a few have experienced issues with Outlook.

I must admit that I am a "newb" to Office 365. My most recent version was Office 2016 Pro Plus.
For some reason I had the false belief that the 365 variant was just a pay version of Microsoft's online offering. And (as usual) I was wrong.
Since my internet speed in my home office is relatively fast (usually around 300Mb) I decided to download the ISO instead of the regular online installer. Upon clicking install, I was informed immediately that 365 and my previous stand-alone version would not play nice together. So I hesitantly uninstalled 2016 Pro Plus.
Am I happy that I did? So far, a resounding YES!
All of my documents/etc are still there. Everything I was used to previously. The 64bit version is a nice touch as well. "My Office" is now the hub to all the office programs.
What is even nicer is that you are given 1TB (yes terabyte!) of OneDrive storage, and 60 minutes of Skype minutes each month. Just for using the product. These are definitely bonuses that I wasn't expecting.
Now for the super-duper-coolest part - you can invite 5 other people to install office 365 (and they also get their own 1TB of OneDrive, and Skype minutes each month!!!!)
In my opinion, those who haven't switched to the 365 variant SHOULD. As from what I understand, the standalone version will not receive updates and/or support as much as 365.
What's to lose?
And, if you decide to decide to sign up with automatic recurring payment, you will get a 13 month subscription instead of 12.
All of this together, tells me that Office 365 is the way forward. And a positive way forward for Microsoft with their office suite.
Get it!
