Customers are saying

Customers enjoy the Comfort Desktop 5050's keyboard quality, ease of use, and wireless functionality. Many appreciate its good battery life and reasonable price. However, some users point out the lack of a caps lock indicator light as a drawback. A few also experienced occasional connection issues with the keyboard and mouse.

This keyboard has a fairly good feel, unlike the "mush boards" that come with new PCs. I wish the Microsoft keys had a just a bit more resistance, like mechanical switches, but otherwise I am very pleased. The programmable function keys are especially nice. The ergonomics of this keyboard have worked better than I expected and my touch-typing accuracy is much better.. The mouse has excellent tracking, especially after I started using it on a solid metal mouse pad instead of a fabric-covered one. I can draw very precisely with it. Bottom line: short of having a more expensive keyboard with mechanical switches this is one of the best keyboards I've used because of its ergonomics and the programmable function keys.

The keyboard is actually pretty good for the price. There is plenty of room to rest my wrist. The mouse feels quite cheap in comparison to the keyboard. My biggest gripe is that the USB receiver must be stowed in order to turn off the power. I bought the set so that I could operate and shut down my computer from my bed, but the way it powers off, that makes it so I can't turn off the device without removing the reciever. It can even be a little tricky to stow the reciever as it is possible to stow without managing to shut the power off. That is unfortunate, but there may be a power-saving feature that I am unaware of. Overall, it is a decent set for the price.

This is the third keyboard I have purchased. Two for work office and one for home use. Comfort design with the ergonomic curvature of the keyboard. Bought all when on sale, so very affordable price. Love all the short cuts marked on keyboard and the shortcut keys to open windows on the top row on keyboard, alllows for a lot less toggling. Favorite keyboard have had and have had many over the last 30 years. Also love the wireless response, which other keyboards have had a delay issue with when typing but not with this board. One thing I would like to see for improvement is a softer touch to keys. I am an extremely fast typist and the keys are a bit stiffer than I prefer so this is the only draw back.

Needed to replace an older keyboard that was starting to have some problems. This set was just the right one. Keyboard and mouse, both wireless. Good combination and a good price as well.

Finally, Microsoft has a keyboard that appears to support decent encryption on the communication. The down side, I didn't find a "sleep" button on this keyboard-I had to figure out the command to assign to a programmable macro key instead.

The mouse has a nice size to it, I do wish it had a on/off switch however. The keyboard is very responsive and has a nice touch, one feature I didn't realize that I really like is the risers can be moved to the front, this has really helped alleviate the carpel tunnel pain I generally get from extended keyboard use. My only other complain would be the dongle connected to the computer sticks out pretty far. I really like the logitech dongle as it was nearly flush, so it didn't snag or require removal when putting my laptop in my bag.

Replaced a LogiTech wireless keyboard that had become erratic in performance despite new batteries. So far, after about six weeks, all seems to be going well with the Microsoft keyboard and mouse. Satisfied with design and ergonomic features. So far, so good! I only wish it were possible to turn keyboard and mouse off when computer is shut down to save battery power.
