This Microsoft 65W Power Supply is exactly what you'd hope for—reliable, fast, and compact. Many Microsoft Surface branded products utilize magnetic connectors. The thin wires utilized by the connector can, over time, fray and, in some cases, break. When it gets to that point some people might attempt to repair the connector. For the rest of us, purchasing a replacement is the way to go. This 65w power supply is the general replacement for Surface computers. There is another model that produces more than 100w, but it costs considerably more. Inside the box, is the power supply with the hardwired connecting cable and a detachable power cord. The replacement power supply functions the same way the ones included with the computers (plug in the power supply to an AC outlet and then connect it to the appropriate jack on the computer. As is the case with the power supplies included with the computers, there is a USB jack on one end of the "brick" which can be used to charge or power an auxiliary device. To help prolong the life of the connector, consider not pulling on the cord but grabbing the connector itself. When used in conjunction with a Surface Pro, the connector can be oriented upward to reduce pressure on the entry point of the cable into the connector. With some care, the power supply can outlast the computer itself.

I love the design of this charger. I do wishe the magnet to keep it in was a little stronger so it didn't fall out so easily. Also, when you can get a generic version of this online for 1/4 of the cost, this charger definitely seems way overpriced...however, they do seem to charge better and last longer....so, maybe its worth it?

After my kitten chewed through the cord on my original charger, I went on the hunt for a replacement. There was nowhere that specifically mentioned Surface Book 2 as being compatible, so I went with this one in the hope that it would work and it did! Seems to charge at the same rate as my original one and it's holding up fine. Very satisfied.

I bought this charger as a replacement for my laptop. I was identical to the original and worked as expected. I do not like the design by Mircosoft in general but the product was a great fit.

My original power supply quit working for me. I had the original power supply since 2022, and it was starting to flicker off and on. My new one charges my SurfacePro 8 faster than the original one.

This was perfect on such short notice. After searching for my cord and couldn't locate it. I placed the order and was able to puck it ip within the hour. This cord is OUTSTANDING and is much better than the cord that came with the laptop.

The cord connection to the block apparently became broken from 2 years + of use and rapping around the charge block for storage. This was the same problem many other reviewers expressed with their MS Pro. I had the same issue with a Dell laptop charger; so it appears to be related to the similar design for laptop charges. The new MS charger cord is longer and more convenient. The new MS charger block and cord solved the issue of intermittent charging. Plus, the PC connection now lights on both sides of the connection for the user to see when the laptop is opened or closed. Price was reasonable and Best Buy priced matched, so I got the unit for 5% - 07% less that the price listed.

Works great!! I ordered this one to replace the one I lost, found it later. But both works great and in good condition. Decided to put one in the house and one in my car for commuting to school

there is no need to pay premium for technology... apple and Microsoft with the surface line make their items specifically non-standard so once you but their equipment you are 'force' to buy their parts. but generally they make their parts feel nicer and of higher quality... perception is reality I guess. last time I check reality is reality but these are the time we live in... for a simple charger $90+... ouch. got the part out of the box and it work perfectly
