Blue screen freeze wit error and loud sound
||Posted .Owned for 8 months when reviewed.I purchased SurfaceBook 3 in 2021, and it has been working fine in the first 6 months, however recently it shuts down a couple fo times in the middle of my work calls, and the screen freezes with a blue screen showing an error with a loud sound. I can't take any action until the system runs it course. It has been quite annoying as i have to cut off currently from work calls and can't log back in without waiting for at least 5 minutes. I can't figure out what the issue is as this is a new laptop and used very carefully.

Excellent laptop/tablet combo
||Posted .Owned for 1 month when reviewed.Great purchase for our college student. Best of both worlds laptop/tablet. Best feature removal of screen for tablet use with stylus to take notes in class. Works well with all the college programs. Streams video well. Speakers are just ok.

Disappointed
Posted .Having a terrible experience with this computer. After 2 weeks I was carrying it and it just cracked (due to the hinge if you grab it from the front the screen will crack). 6 month’s later the battery just stopped working. Wish I had gotten an apple instead. Best Buy will not back up the product and neither will Microsoft. Just left out in the cold.

Overall a good product
||Posted .Owned for 1 month when reviewed.I have been using Surface products for 7 years and would not buy another product. I like the Surface Book 3 however I have two complaints: 1) the computer has to be turned on in order to release the screen, 2) the micro SD card is in the keyboard part of the computer and not in the tablet portion, which means that if you have all your info stored on the SD card and release the tablet portion, you can't access your files; you have to copy them to "computer".

Good but not Great for 2020
||Posted .Owned for 1 week when reviewed. Its definitely unique and very interesting but for the money, its just not enough. -No thunderbolt -Almost 4 lbs -Less than 4 hours of battery in tablet mode (real life) -Weird gap when closed gives it a larger than normal form factor -bezels around screen are large for 2020. I would seriously recommend a lenovo yoga c940, hp scpecture x360, or dell xps 13. All of these are 2 in 1 laptops that are cheaper and outperform the surface book 3. Microsoft needs to revamp the surface book for it to be a serious competitor. This is the same physical form factor since 2015.

Excellent for the price
||Posted .Owned for 1 month when reviewed.I bought it used, fair price for the product. As a student, the laptop is good, as it has a high-quality screen resolution, as well as being versatile, becoming a tablet. Together with the pencil its use is done wonderfully. The battery life as a tablet is about 2 hours, and as a laptop it goes up to 6 hours. The USB-C port can also be used for charging. Its facial recognition function is extremely fast, but it does not work when the screen is upside down or vertical.

One of my fav laptops
||Posted .Owned for 1 month when reviewed. This is the second time I’ve bought this laptop, first one was the first time they released the surface book. I love this laptop very much. It’s portable, I got a case that makes me a lot less worried to take it with me on the go, and of course the whole screen thing is great. It over performs most laptops I’ve used, and all laptops with the capabilities it has. The only issue I’m having is my touchscreen keeps just not working randomly. I’ve talked multiple times with Microsoft, it’s been happening since the day I got it, and Microsoft said an update would fix it but I keep having to call them back. Not great but the customer service is. It is annoying the pen comes separate and now I bought a $140 pen for the touch screen to not want to work.

Surface book freedom!
||Posted .Owned for 3 weeks when reviewed.Great value. Does the job I need it to do and being able to break it down to just a tablet really makes life easier on me. I do wish they charged separately as well sometimes just the tablet is all I need but I have to take the whole unit for charging. The connect and disconnect is super easy! I enjoy Microsoft products because it is the same system we use at work so I can take work home !

Great computer if you're fine with the price
||Posted .Owned for 3 weeks when reviewed.I love using my surface book in both laptop and tablet mode. Although it works fine as a laptop, I find myself using any excuse I can to pop the screen off and use it like a tablet (either to draw or take notes). The only reason I don't give it 5 stars is because the shear performance at the price it costs, just isn't there. I got the base model (so it's got a nice 10th gen i5 processer), but the graphical performance and storage space are lacking for a $1600 computer. I understand that this is the base model, so the specs aren't going to be great, but for a base model, even with the cool tablet/laptop capability that it has, I would expect a price more around $1000 or maybe even $1200. Charging $1600 seems more fitting for one of the more high end spec models.

Love it.
||Posted .Owned for 1 year when reviewed.I love to be able to use it as a tablet or a laptop. It has come in very handy for college. I like that the keyboard is also a back up battery but I wish both batteries would last a little longer than they do.

Freedom At Last!!!
||Posted .Owned for less than 1 week when reviewed.Tired of being tied down to my desk top to do invoices and accounting through the desktop version of my accounting software, I decided to buy the Surface Book to allow me the versatility of working where I want. My Wife owns one and i liked its features enough to purchase my own. Touchscreen capable and disconnecting to use as a tablet are awesome. Battery life seems very good. I now operate in a cloud based software and love the ability to be mobile. Great solid manufacture.

Great device
||Posted .Owned for 3 months when reviewed.Wounderful upgrade from the old unit we had. Very fast boot up. The separate tablet option is great. The only, very minor issue, the color of the keyboard. In direct and indirect sunlight, the letters are difficult to see.

No need to look further
||Posted .Owned for 1 month when reviewed.I bought this laptop for my brother's graduation present since he will be heading off to grad school in the fall. He absolutely loves it! The fact that the screen detaches and turns into a tablet makes his note taking options more versatile. The light-up keyboard is perfect for environments that do not have the best lighting. Also, the employees were really helpful and patient while I asked a bunch of questions. Best investment I have made in such an item, I typically only purchase mid-range laptops for myself. Now I wish I had one of these.

Great device
||Posted .Owned for 1 month when reviewed.Leaving my 5+ year old laptop behind I am transitioning to the Surface Book 3. So far, I am pleasantly surprised. It runs Windows 10 and all my apps well and with the USB-C to HDMI adapter I can run on multiple displays without a hitch. This is truly a wonderful change from my laptop.

Very versatile laptop for all your electronic need
||Posted .I was apprehensive about the price however after buying several cheap laptops over the course of 2 years that continued to break I finally bit the bullet. I can safely say this was worth every penny! Very simple set up, easy to use and the ability to turn it from a laptop to a tablet is so useful for work and school alike. I recommend buying the surface pen with it if you do any type of presentations or just like to draw. The last plus is the keyboard and screen size, the key board is well laid out (other than the arrow keys feeling a little cramped) and the screen size is perfect for movies!

Good. But did not really meet expectations.
||Posted .Owned for 3 weeks when reviewed.I upgraded from a Surface Pro 3 to the Surface Book 3, and well, so far I haven’t felt much difference. Also, the UAG Case and the screen protectors available for this model are underwhelming to say the least, with more drawbacks than even the ones made for the decade old Surface Pro 3. I have had a decent experience but I’m not at the point where I’d recommend you to make the same upgrade.

Surface Book 3
||Posted .Owned for 8 months when reviewed. The Surface Book 3 is just the right size for traveling when I don't want to take my larger laptop. It also allows syncing with my Galaxy S20 Ultra, so I can see everything on a bigger screen. I am glad I got the hard-sided one for sure especially for its durability. I may have picked a larger memory had I thought about it more, but the cloud where my pictures and documents are stored seems to take the load for now
