I gave the Surface Go a 1 Star, it’s junk. The keyboard, purchased separately, does the job but it’s very small. The key travel and feel is much nicer than the iPad 9.7” keyboard, so that is nice. Too bad the Surface Go is not a useful device. In my opinion, Microsoft should include the keyboard with a device like the Go, since the Go is useless as a touch-only device. It’s not an iPad, which I would guess the overwhelming majority of people do not use a keyboard, since the OS is designed for touch. Windows 10 touch is like a “bolt-on” experience, it wasn’t designed for touch ... or rather ... it works with touch but most apps are not not friendly.

Alcantara not worth the extra jump in price

Should not be that expensive just because of the Alcantara material. I know its marketing and for sales, but not worth the extra bucks for Alcantara

I am rating this a three, as I am sure other people really love it. I, unfortunately, had to return it because it does not work with a Surface Pro 7.

The track pad is flaky. It doesn't register clicks all the time and lacks tactile feedback some times. Aside from that, it's decent, but should be cheaper. I use it for my car tuning and diagnostic software primarily.

I'm not sure why Microsoft charges so much for items that should be included with the tablet. I purchased this along with the surface go 2 and pen as a mother's day gift for mom.

I love the user ease of this detachable keyboard, but it definitely needs to be on a flat surface to work well. I have a difficult time using the finger pad and getting it to respond to my clicks.

Used to regular size keyboard so this one is too small. Takes a while to get used to. Portable enough to carry everywhere.

      Hi Astrid,

Thank you for the feedback. One of the great things about the Surface Go Signature Type Cover is that its size makes it easy to travel with, as well as protect your screen. Surface also has full size wireless keyboard options that you can take a look at here: https://www.bestbuy.com/site/microsoft-surface-keyboard-silver/5663301.p?skuId=5663301.

A Little Small But Works In A Pinch

Bought a few days after getting a Surface Go. The touch keyboard with the Go is not quite there yet so I opted to get the Type Cover. The key response is amazing. The layout makes the most of the space it has, however that said it's still a small keyboard and can take some adjusting to. I also noticed the trackpad sticks more than I'd like it to causing some unintended selecting or drag/dropping.

      Hi there,

Thanks for reaching out. We'd like to take the time to chime in and let you know that Surface Go Signature Type Cover does in fact offer back-lit keys as a feature. To adjust the brightness, use the "F7" key. We hope this helps!

Item had a defect that caused the screen to lower brightness when attached, and had to be returned. Second one is working as intended and definitely helps utility.
