I recently purchased the Microsoft Surface Laptop (Copilot+ PC, 13.8" Touchscreen, Snapdragon X Plus, 16GB/512GB, 2024 – Dune), and it has exceeded my expectations in several ways. The Dune color is sleek and modern, and the laptop itself feels premium and lightweight—THE BEST for me is it's PERFECT for carrying around campus.One of the biggest highlights. The battery easily lasts all day with regular use—email, browsing, video meetings, and note-taking. It’s a huge upgrade from my previous laptop.

Best purchase I ever made for school!!! I was very hesitant to buy it and thought it was just something that everybody hyped up, but I am actually so impressed and you do get what you pay for!! The Surface Laptop has exceeded my expectations, making it an invaluable tool for my studies. The sleek design is not just aesthetically pleasing but also incredibly comfortable to use for long hours. The powerful performance allows me to run demanding software without any lag, and the battery life is surprisingly long, keeping me productive throughout the day. It's definitely worth the investment.

I’m obsessed, I’ve had it for a year now and it works wonderfully. I use it for work and for school and I have no issues at all. The touch screen is a great added feature when I’m tired of using the mouse pad. The battery life is fantastic I don’t need to charge for 2 days honestly and holds a lot of storage for my needs. I highly recc.

Good laptop overall, its fast processor and dedicated graphics card for video editing, a vibrant and high-resolution display, a comfortable keyboard and responsive touchpad, long battery life makes the laptop a good one.

I have always used Microsoft Windows as my favorite operating system but have not had a Surface laptop in many years. I was thrilled to find out about the new AI Surface Laptop enhanced with Copilot+. I chose the Sapphire color for the new Surface and was blown away with how beautiful it was in person. I realized it had been many years since I had any laptop that was not the standard silver color, so the Surface immediately stood out. My friends also commented on how beautiful the color was and how nice the display appeared on it. I did notice that even though the laptop color was amazing that fingertip marks did e up being noticeable on the lid from usage but would wipe away with a microfiber cloth.
I had read all the specs Microsoft shared about the product before releasing it to the public and I was curious how fast the Surface would operate with the Snapdragon X Plus chip with 10 cores and a Neural Processing Unit. I have to say that after I quickly did the initial setup, I realized that the system worked quicker than what I was used to. I was also drawn to this model because it had plenty of storage with the 512GB SSD.
A new feature that I found after setting up my Surface was the new Windows Hello security feature which lets you setup signing in with a PIN or with your biometrics information. I chose to use my facial recognition since it would be faster than me trying to make the entries on the keyboard. I was surprised how accurate and much quicker it was for me to get past the normal sign on area with the device validating via the webcam that I was truly the person who installed the biometric data. I decided to research the new feature and was thrilled to find out how much more secure the Windows Hello security was than the standard methods adding to the encryption methods as well.
Overall, I cannot say enough good things about how much the device has matured since my previous experience, but it has spoiled me from going back to regular laptops.

I love this laptop. I bought it for college and have been using it for about 2 months now and it is very portable and not heavy. It has such a good battery life which is what I was looking for in a laptop as the school rentals were the worst because the battery would drain in like 2 hours. Face ID and touchscreen is the best and it has such an easy and sleek design!

I was honestly worried about 2 things:
1. The screen size being 13.8
2. buying the plus version with only 16gb of ram.
I was blown away by how fast this machine is. The screen size is perfect and the machine really flows. I was running over 15 tabs in chrome while I was listening to spotify and doing light programming and it didnt even break a sweat. battery life has been solid at about 8 ish to 9 hours on 70% brightness. Very very happy with my choice.

I am a windows guy through and through and have eagerly awaited the day that I would be able to have a laptop with solid battery life and not have to be tethered to the outlet or a power bank. That day has finally arrived and it could not have come sooner as I was starting to think that I would have to switch to Apple just to get a laptop that could keep up with me.
Now for those who follow Microsoft as a company and all that they do and have accomplished should already know that this is not anything new as they have tried previously with Windows RT and they made some grand promises that never panned out. This time around though I think that it will work as there are more developers working with Microsoft and from my time with my Surface 7, I think that Microsoft will deliver this time around.
:::Initial Impressions:::
Sapphire Blue! That is the device I chose and I love it so much, even the box it comes in matches the color of the device. It is a little disappointing though that Microsoft did not make matching chargers missed opportunity there. Upon opening the box, it is pretty much what you expect the device, power cord & documentation. Opening the laptop, it powered on just by opening it much like a Chromebook would.
This is very much the usual Windows setup & experience that you would expect the only big difference here is that you will not find X86 internals. What you will find under the hood is an ARM chip made by Qualcomm.
:::General Thoughts:::
You might be wondering so what is the big deal with these devices, why are they being hyped so much and who is this for? Like I mentioned earlier this is Microsoft’s answer to what Apple is doing with their M-line of processors that power all their devices.
These devices are brought to the market with promises of better battery life, AI enabled features that aid you in whatever you may need assistance with. I tried co-pilot and co-creator with paint it made a beautiful work of art with my nonexistent art skills.
Now who is this exactly for? Now this is best for the casual everyday user like a student or professional who would rely heavily on the Office suite of applications. The biggest issue you will face is that not all applications will run on this device or the Snapdragon Elite because developers need to add support for ARM powered devices.
You will find YouTube videos of individuals testing out what works and what does not. I would say that this should not deter you from looking at or picking one of these up because I most certainly have been enjoying my time with my Surface. It is only a matter of time before X86 emulation gets better, efficient, and more apps have ARM support.
Individuals who want to game on these devices can but do not expect it to outperform a gaming laptop with NVIDIA or AMD graphic’s it is not capable of that yet but may possibly be able to do so in the future. Android phones are a testament to that if you stop and look at the high-end devices and the games that run on it then I would say that Windows on ARM is looking good and it has a bright future ahead.
As far as hardware in concerned you get two Variants the Snapdragon Plus & Elite. They are similar but with minor differences between the two. The design of the SL7 is like past iterations so you know it is a quality device. It feels good to hold and has some heft. The trackpad has been improved and feels amazing in comparison to my Surface Pro 9, the keyboard is good and responsive and backlit it gets plenty bright, the screen is amazing and the usual 3:2 ratio.
Battery life is amazing in my use, some light gaming, work, and media consumption I easily got 15 hours with Spotify, co-pilot, co-creator, cloud gaming on Gamepass and a few other apps opened. You get the 39W charger included but I have the 67W charger and that is the way to go for a quick charge.
:::Pros & Cons:::
Pros:
- Amazing battery life
- Quiet
- Same windows experience
- Love Sapphire Blue!
Cons:
- Not every app is ARM compatible
- No light indicator when charging via USB C
- Cannot install games on this device with Native app Gamepass
:::Closing thoughts:::
I did not touch on specifications because these are not Intel or AMD devices and there are only two choices with minor differences but both provide comparable experiences.
I am looking forward to what Microsoft & Qualcomm can do here it is off to a good start and I might just end up picking up a surface pro-11. I love my SP9 and all that it had to offer.
Microsoft, please bring back the surface Headphones they were amazing. Imagine an AI powered set of headphones please make it happen.
:::TL;DR:::
Microsoft is experimenting again and has made some big changes that will change how you work, play, and do everyday tasks. Pick one up and check it out for yourself.

This laptop is honestly such a good investment. I got it for college and it was so easy to use and and is perfect for college life. The battery life is solid, I have a little trouble with it every once in a while because I am using adobe products that take a huge toll on the battery. The touch screen is game changing when it comes to editing and having to zoom in on pictures.

I've had this laptop for about a month now, and I have no complaints.
Prior to this, I had a 16 inch HP laptop that was insanely heavy and essentially had to be plugged in at all times after a year of use (a constant issue I had faced with HP laptops). Now that I have this laptop, I must admit that its much easier to carry around and much more comfortable to use in general, as the battery has lasted me much longer--- even after days of intermittent use.
The higher price point of the laptop is honestly worth it. With this computer come many good features, including high camera quality and ability for multitasking. One of my biggest concerns was being able to access programs like ChimeraX and not have the battery be totally drained from using it while also switching between apps.
Overall, I'd say this computer is really great for anyone who is planning on using it for schoolwork or remote work. In my opinion, this laptop is Microsoft's closest attempt at recreating the Macbook, as the weight, dimensions, and features are comparable.

I had a Surface Pro7 for about 7 years. I loved the longevity of it, but didn't love how the screen detached from the keyboard, so you had to be sitting at a desk to use the laptop since the screen didn't sit up on it's own.
When looking for a new laptop, I knew I wanted to get another laptop in the Surface family and this laptop is perfect! The battery life lasts a minimum of two days, even with constant use, but lasts up to a week if you're not using it often. I wanted a laptop that could run some simple games like Minecraft and Stardew Valley with no lag and not have the laptop overheat, and it runs the games perfectly!
I don't have anything I don't like about this laptop, it's truly my dream, plus it's my favorite color!
Highly, highly recommend.

I can only give it four stars at the moment because I have not had enough time to spend with it to see it’s full capabilities
I will say it’s gorgeous than lightweight touchscreen, and everything you could expect from Microsoft surface
I love how it still has a USB port when most others do not that feature has come in extremely handy in the minimal use. I have had with it thus far.

I recently purchased the Microsoft Surface Pro Copilot+ PC, and I'm thoroughly impressed. The 12" touchscreen is vibrant and responsive, making it perfect for both productivity and media. The new Snapdragon X Plus chip delivers smooth performance, and with 16GB of memory, multitasking is a breeze. The 256GB UFS storage is fast and reliable, keeping everything snappy. Its sleek platinum design feels premium, and the device is super portable. Overall, it's a powerful, modern 2-in-1 that's perfect for work on the go. Highly recommended!

The Microsoft Surface Laptop 7 is an attractive and well-rounded device that blends portability, performance, and sleek design.
Design and Build Quality
The Surface Laptop 7 exudes a premium feel with its aluminum chassis, which is both lightweight and stylish. The addition of the Alcantara fabric on some models adds a unique touch, though it may not age as gracefully as the all-metal unibody of a MacBook.
Display
The 13.8-inch PixelSense display is a standout feature with its 3:2 aspect ratio and sharp resolution (2256 x 1504). Colors are vibrant, and the touchscreen capability gives it an edge for creative tasks.
Performance
Powered by Intel’s 10th Gen processors, the Surface Laptop 7 delivers solid performance for everyday tasks, including multitasking and light creative work.
Battery Life
Microsoft advertises up to 11.5 hours of battery life, but real-world use typically lands closer to 8-9 hours, depending on usage.
Port Selection
One of the Surface Laptop 7’s limitations is its port selection, featuring only a USB-C (without Thunderbolt), a USB-A, and a Surface Connect port. While the inclusion of USB-A is appreciated for compatibility, the lack of m
Keyboard and Trackpad
The keyboard is comfortable with good travel, though it doesn’t quite match the precision and consistency of the MacBook’s Magic Keyboard. The glass trackpad on the Surface Laptop 7 is smooth and responsive, but it’s slightly smaller and less tactile compared to Apple’s industry-leading Force Touch trackpad.
Conclusion
The Surface Laptop 7 is a beautiful and functional laptop that shines for those seeking a Windows-based alternative in a premium design. It’s an excellent choice for users who value the flexibility of Windows and touchscreen support,
Best For: Students, professionals, and creatives who want a premium Windows laptop.
