The Microsoft Surface Laptop has some outstanding features. It is very sturdy and sleek, and comes in some beautiful colors. It is very thin overall which is amazing considering the processing power and capabilities. It is lightweight and portable. The first thing I noticed was the outstanding display, with a thin bezel, that makes it seem much bigger than 13.8". The touchscreen is extremely responsive. The colors are vibrant and images crystal clear. The keyboard is lighted and smooth - very comfortable to use. The touchpad is also very responsive, but I did have an issue of it freezing up a couple of times during some applications. I had to close out the app and restart - then the touchpad came back. The charging cord has a very unique connection design (so it's not universal). I don't care for it because it is magnetic and can stick to the side of the port, rather than being inserted properly. It also pops out very easily if on my lap. If it's on my charging stand, this wasn't an issue as long as I made sure it was plugged in correctly. However, it does charge fairly quickly and has an amazing battery life. I have used the laptop for well over a day and a half with it still registering 40-50%. The Snapdragon processor is impressive, fast and provides great performance. The laptop itself is wonderfully designed. Some of the new software, driven by AI, is helpful and will improve productivity, and some fell short of my expectations. There are Studio Effects features for live chats/videos that are nice, including a blur background, which is easy to turn on with one click under that battery icon on the taskbar. There is a Microsoft Office icon on the taskbar, which is an efficient way to access the office software. The new Cocreator in Paint is supposed to assist is the creation of drawings/graphics. I found it very cumbersome to use, and the AI images were not always reflective of what I drew. It was also slow and not responsive enough. The laptop has a Copilot key on the keyboard, which opens the Copilot software. This features is good for research and finding resources on specific topics, but sometimes fell short on the content. For example, I asked it to list all the nonprofits in my county (I was specific with the county name). It listed four organizations, but one was in another county, in fact another state. It also listed five un Google maps results, two of which were not in my county. The Designer image creator is spectacular however and can be accessed through Copilot as well. Copilot is also time saving, fun and creative for things like helping with recipes, planning trips and provides hints for things to look up. Overall, this Surface Laptop is terrific and will become my everyday, go to device. I look forward to some of the software updates in the future.

    A Really Cool Laptop

I want to start off by thanking the Best Buy Tech insiders Network and Microsoft for sending me this new Microsoft Surface Copilot+ PC Laptop. I have had many Windows laptops & desktops over the past 44 years as well as other computers. I always preferred the Mac to Windows for various reasons but of late, as of Windows 11, I am enjoying the Windows platform a lot more. The past few Windows PC's were pretty slow as compared to the Macs that I owned. Until now. This Microsoft Surface Copilot+ PC Laptop uses a Snapdragon X processor which is as fast or even faster than a MacBook Pro M3, that is very quickly making me like Windows more than before. It is so fast, when I open the lid, the Windows Hello recognizes me instantly and gets to the desktop within a few seconds. Microsoft Edge opens in about a second whereas opening Google Chrome on my Mac Studio M1 Max takes about 3 seconds. I don't want to review this laptop by comparing it to my Mac but I think I will be using it more often than my Mac. This Surface laptop has a touch screen and I like it as none of my Macs have ever had a touch screen (except for my iPad). It comes with 16Gb of RAM and a 512Gb SSD for storage. It has 2 USB-C jacks, one USB-A jack, a headphone jack and a charging jack. This particular laptop is a beautiful sapphire blue color with a very smooth feel to it. The touchpad is very responsive and you can set the active area for the right click and can have haptic feedback for clicks if you want. You can set various gestures for the touchpad as well. The resolution of the screen can be set as high as 2304x1536 which is like 2K+. I was able to stream the screen to my LG TV wirelessly as it automatically detected the TV without having to use an Amazon Firestick, Chromecast or AppleTV. The camera records video at 1920x1080. The paint program has changed drastically. Paint has a great new feature called Cocreator. Cocreator allows you to draw a picture and will generate a new image based on your drawing using AI. Even if you can't draw, Cocreator will make you look like a great artist. Another feature is ImageCreator which uses AI to create a picture totally using your text input. This brings me to another great feature called Co-Pilot. Copilot although it is available on the web, there is now a dedicated key on the keyboard that brings up the Copilot screen. From that screen, you can use one of the functions to help you as "Your everyday AI companion". You can chat with Copilot and ask it any kind of question. You can create graphics by clicking on Designer and like ImageCreator, you can describe what you want to see and it will generate the image for you from scratch. You can choose Vacation Planner and tell it what your perfect vacation would be like and it will bring up a list of suggestions as well as photographs using Bing Images. There is a cooking assistant that will bring up the ingredients and the recipe. If you ask it to show what the finished meal would look like, it will generate 4 pictures of the meal. Finally there is the Fitness Trainer where you can have it generate a routine for you or answer any questions about exercise using AI. Studio Effects can have your webcam follow you as you move side to side and zoom in or out as well when needed. Using AI it can keep your eyes looking directly into the camera even if you are looking at different parts of the screen. Live Captions can display the text of any video or audio that you are watching. One last thing to mention about the Microsoft Surface Copilot+ Laptop is that it doesn't get hot. I have had it on my lap for about 2 hours and it stayed cool.

No idea as between online customer service and in store customer service the product was lost, finally delivered to a store for pick up and didnt have the hardware promised. The entire experience was so bad I am challenged to imagine a situation where I would ever purchase something from BestBuy again.

Nice but not perfect It has had several glitches already such as keyboard not working, turning off/freezing up with a black screen. I’ve only had this computer for a month. Not used daily, but used regularly with no major programs running. The aesthetic is nice

Went into store and was sold surface laptop 7. I was encouraged to purchase a new surface pen and assured it was compatible by the store rep and his manager. Only to come home and find out it the pen needed a charger that wasn't mentioned by the sales associates AND per microsoft, the pen is not compatible at all, which is conflicting with information on the bestbuy website. Sales associates dont know the products their selling at all.

This Microsoft Surface Laptop in sapphire is such a beautiful machine. The color grabs your attention from the moment you open the box. It's a sleek beauty. Thin and light making it so easy to port around. The 13.8" touch screen has a thin bezel allowing maximum viewing and is very responsive to touch. The charging cord is different from any I've used before. It is flat on the end and slides into place. I like it very much but wonder how hard it will be if I need to replace it. It's powerful and quick. The Snapdragon X Plus processor has no problem taking care of business. I haven't had any problem streaming videos or listening to music while playing Microsoft games in the background or using the Co-Creater in Paint, checking emails or chatting with family and friends. I'm still learning in Co-Creater, or the program is still learning me, maybe both? Describing what I want to create doesn't get me the exact results I'm looking for yet. But it is very helpful and the more I use it the better the results. I'm no expert, I just like creating so my experience is limited. I intend to use this to expand my experience. This is a powerful, sleek beauty of a machine. Quick and responsive. Different from any other I've used and I very much like and recommend it.

My new surface that was a Christmas present has still not arrived. Apparently it’s in Houston Texas. Has been since December 31st. No updates, no contact number. Maybe I will get it in time for next Christmas?
