I bought the laptop for my granddaughter a recent grad who now needs it for work. She was working on a laptop with a cracked screen and I couldn't take it anymore. She did the research and decided this surface was best for price and speed and size. She's very happy with the product. I have a Surface Pro 4 i5 that I use for work and I love mine as well,

A good ultrabook priced a bit too high. I've had my Surface Laptop Go (which I will just call Surface from now on) for a few days and will be keeping it. I have a powerful desktop and was looking for an ultrabook with great build quality, something that could do the basics, has a good display, was thing and light, and had features I liked. I kicked around different models from various manufacturers but they all seemed to skimp on one or two of my basic requirements: build quality or performance. I found a nice Asus that performs better than the Surface but the display and build quality was terrible. I've had experience with Surface products before and know that Microsoft's build quality is excellent. The Surface Laptop Go carries over the desktop of the Surface Laptop (with a metal top) squeezing things down to a 12" display. Facial recognition has been replaced with a fingerprint scanner (that conveniently lights up), Pen support has been removed, storage is capped at 256GB and 8GB of RAM, the unit is made of aluminum instead of magnesium, the bottom is plastic, and the keyboard backlight has been cut. But this is a full sized keyboard with a nice sized trackpad that supports all gestures, the fingerprint scanner is fast, the keyboard is nice to type on, the display is bright and maintains a 3:2 aspect ratio (good for using a word processor or browsing the web), and it still includes USB C. The USB C port can accept a charge but MS still uses the proprietary Surface connector with this. I'm fine with that, I'd rather have a magnetic proprietary connector that frees up the only USB C port on this than have to purchase yet another dongle just so I can charge this and access the USB C port. The Ice Blue color is more of a dull silver, it reminds me of the iPad Air 4 blue color and well matches it. The touchscreen has been responsive and gets bright enough that I haven't missed the keyboard backlight. Some reviewers complained about the display being low resolution, it's essentially 1080p with some of the sides cut off. Text appears crisp and easy to read, colors pop with the display covering 99-103% of the sRGP spectrum (76% Adobe RGB). I haven't had any issues writing a document in Word, open and editing a large Excel file, or browsing the web with either Edge or Chrome (though Edge performs better on this). The integrated graphics are Intel's lowest (the G1) but it's more than capable of driving an external 4K display (or two 1080p external display), playing high framerate 4K videos, and doing some extremely light gaming (like Untitled Goose Game or some of the older Lego titles). The processor is a full 10th gen Core i5 that outperforms the Surface Go and even the Core i5 chips in the Surface Laptop and Surface Pro series. RAM is limited to 8GB but that's more than enough to accomplish the tasks this notebook was designed for. Thermals are also well handled. The fan has kicked on a couple of times but it's whisper quiet and, most of the time, the fan remains off for everyday use. Battery life could be better. I'm averaging about 8-9 hours of real world use with the screen brightness set to 75%. That's jumping between Word, Excel, Chrome, Edge, Outlook, Netflix, Teams, and a few other things. I tested the video playback battery life (75% screen, local videos, airplane mode) and managed to get close to 12 hours which isn't too bad but hours behind other ultrabooks that cost a bit more. I wouldn't necessarily pay full price for this unit. I think that, at $700, there are better options especially if you can find a sale. But I price matched a competitor at Best Buy and was able to knock some off the top. If you can find it for a lower price, and are fine paying a bit more for build quality, then I recommend the Surface Laptop Go. For me, I'm willing to sacrifice a keyboard backlight if it means getting an ultrabook at a nice price with high build quality. The Laptop Go looks like a $1000+ ultrabook and matches the build quality of more expensive models. For me, that's what mattered the most so I pulled the trigger and have been happy. You might find better deals from other manufacturers but they won't match the build quality at this price and they all come with bloatware you have to remove. I didn't have to uninstall a single app or program when I first set this up. No Candy Crush, McAfee, Norton, or anything else like that. All OS and firmware updates come straight from MS. To me, that's worth paying a little more for.

I absolutely love this computer. It is slim and sleek and the finish is so smooth, and I can get my work done AND play games. If youre a hardcore gamer this wouldnt be the computer for you but with the mid level specs I can play most of my games no problem. It comes with a built in 720p webcam so I can do my video calls for work, and then game in my spare time. My only gripe is storage space, but for the price and what it can do, I am very happy.

My husband gifted me this laptop for Xmas and I am satisfied with it, but I am not too happy with the battery life. It doesn't last very long and I honestly expected the battery life expectancy for this laptop to last me all day, considering the fact that it is much smaller than regular laptops. Unfortunately, the battery life on this laptop I would say lasts you only half a day and then you have to charge it again. You can fit this laptop into a medium sized purse. I love the color on it. It's almost like a Rose Gold color - it has a pinkish hue to it. This laptop is compatible with an Android phone - you can sync your phone to the laptop. Lastly, unfortunately, the keyboard is NOT a backlit keyboard.

Was looking for a lightweight laptop that wouldnt break the bank. Got this at a great price. Processir is fast, screen res is good, like the powerbutton with built in fingerprint reader for quick start up. Screen is a little smaller than i thought it would be but thats on me i should have measured to get an idea when i read the specs. Details said it had a tablet mode, it doesnt flip to tablet but it does have touchscreen.

This is a nice computer if you like small full featured specialty laptops. It does everything any laptop has to do. It is nice to look at and very practical and light. Regrettably this laptop was returned for a larger laptop. But if you want an easy to carry and powerful laptop get one from this series. My daughter says it’s cute. Great for a student.

So far i have been loving it. The battery life is quite a long time. I could watch 3 or more movies and still have some life left. Fairly easy to use. I dont use it for work yet, but for leisure it is a joy and pleasure to use. Very fast. Quiet keys for typing. Display screen is crisp and bright. All around great laptop. Love the magnetic charging port.

Practical, light, easy to use and beautiful minimal design. I purchased it right before a trip to Hawaii and I loved how light it is. The touch screen is a plus. The only negative thing I can think of if that the screen is glossy, which can be difficult to see outside with bright sun.

Small but powerful! SSD and i5 processor makes such a huge difference in performance. I like the portability and use of a tablet, but having this laptop has made me love it more than a tablet. Just the fact of been able to use it on your lap is a must for me now. Been a Windows laptop, the battery is good but could be better.
