For the artists out there: yes. This thing is fast, beautiful, and works awesomely in clip studio paint. The pen pressure is amazing. (Only with surface slim 2 pen so far) Only con: heavy. Backpack carrier needed. My poor shoulder bag was too much on me. But i am sickly.

I have really enjoyed this new Surface Laptop Studio 2. Since Microsoft Windows is the OS that I am most familiar and comfortable with, it is exciting for me to see the quality of experience finally arriving in Windows that I have seen in other operating systems. This laptop/tablet hybrid brings the hardware capable of bolstering that experience as well. I love how this laptop changes the way that I work. It has an awesome on-board GPU that gives me the capability I need when plugged into power and the On-Board graphics that enable long work hours with lower battery consumption. The way the display flips and folds enables a whole new collection of ways to work. The laptop is a bit thicker than my Dell XPS was, but it doesn't bother me. I love the way the edge allows for the stylus to sit pocketed underneath without being knocked off every time I pick it up to go to a meeting. The way I can easily flip the display down to write notes and then flip it right back to access the keyboard. I also think it is cool that I get this functionality without having to compromise on the thickness of the display. In the end, it is an expensive laptop, But I feel like it is still a very good value considering the overall experience using it.

At first I absolutely loved this thing. I was coming off of a surface pro 9, time for a change. I tried the SP11 first, but I had performance issues with it despite all the places reviewing how amazingly fast it was. 30+ seconds from power on to desktop was just the start of the disappointment. So I grabbed this. Fit and finish were amazing, no issues whatsoever. Screen was beautiful, sound reproduction was very surprising, one of the best laptops I've had as far as sound goes. Movies, music, all sounded far better than I had hoped. And it was FAST. Booted quick to desktop, things that open in 8 or 10 seconds on my Surface Pro 9 with a faster upgraded 2 TB SSD and 16 GB of RAM on here opened in about 2 or 3 seconds. Everything was a great step forward compared to what I'd used for the last two years. It's heavier, but I was expecting that, and I don't have to traipse through airports anymore lugging my hardware, so it wasn't an issue. From the house, to the car, to the office, and back. That's all the carrying I have to do, and occasionally to a client site. Easy. The keyboard was great. Since I was coming from the SP9 and the keyboard there, this was a much better feel, better travel. And this was my first experience with the haptic trackpad, and I found I really liked it. But then I wanted to see what battery life was like. So one day after work, where it had been connected to my Surface Dock 2 so it was fully charged, I left it unplugged. I did not open any web browsers, I just wanted to see what I would get if I had it running and just had Outlook open to keep an eye on my mail - something I would do if I were at a client site. And I was sadly disappointed. I did not even manage 4.5 hours, with NOTHING open but Outlook. And probably an hour or more of that was spent with the screen off due to inactivity, and I'd walk past it, hit the shift key, and wake up the screen again. This was on the default "recommended settings" power option, not the better or best performance option. Screen was set to half brightness. So I immediately reset it and packed it up and returned it. I wouldn't upgrade to something with such a lousy battery life.

I have never spent this much on a computer before ($2,500 on sale from $2,800) and I can tell you whole heartedly that it is worth the money. I dont know about everything it can do because I am learning as I go to be honest. But this thing is so nice! I am so glad I bought the newer pen as well. It sticks to the laptop by magnets no worry about losing it. Yes I did buy the Best Buy membership for $180 because it was cheaper and better than the warranty for the computer. I believe Microsoft wanted almost $300. It has 2 USB-C ports. 1 USB-A port. Same side. Other side is charger, audio port and SD card port. The tablet feature is so cool. Its the biggest tablet I've ever seen. I will seriously only buy these laptops when I upgrade I am that happy. And I'm not wealthy by any means. I got approved for a best buy credit card for $3,000 and my toal came to $2,970 or so. The laptop the pen and the membership plus tax etc. I got 2 years no interest financing with the credit card. So thats $125/month. If thats not worth it to you than I cant help you. But for those that cant afford 3k upfront and have decent credit you can get a credit card and pay it off. I hope this helps anyone.

I'd say the price is a little high, but ultimately this product is exactly what I wanted as far as convenience. The tablet mode makes taking notes easy as well as digital art, along with the laptop mode that gives me ease when having to type up letters and reports. There are for sure cheaper options and if you like bigger, then you probably won't want to take this route, but if you're looking to splurge or prefer convenience, this is not a bad option.

As a research scientist, I recently had the opportunity to use the Microsoft - Surface Laptop Studio 2, featuring a 14.4" Touch-Screen, Intel Core i7 processor with 32GB Memory, GeForce RTX 4050 graphics card, and a 1TB SSD in the latest Platinum model. Here's my review: Design and Build Quality: The first thing that struck me about the Surface Laptop Studio 2 is its robust and versatile design. The build quality is exceptional, with a sleek platinum finish that feels both premium and durable. The hinge mechanism, which allows the device to transition seamlessly between laptop, stage, and studio modes, is particularly impressive. This versatility is a boon for researchers like me who need a device that can adapt to different work environments. Display: The 14.4" touch screen is nothing short of stunning. It offers vibrant colors, deep blacks, and excellent brightness levels, making it ideal for data visualization and detailed image analysis. The touch responsiveness is top-notch, which is helpful for interactive tasks such as drawing molecular structures or navigating complex datasets. Performance: Powered by an Intel Core i7 processor and 32GB of memory, this laptop handles multitasking with ease. I've run multiple demanding applications simultaneously, including data analysis software, simulation tools, and document editing, without experiencing any lag. The inclusion of the GeForce RTX 4050 graphics card is a significant plus for computational tasks that require GPU acceleration, such as machine learning model training or 3D rendering. Storage and Connectivity: The 1TB SSD provides ample storage space for large datasets, which is essential in research. Data transfer speeds are incredibly fast, reducing the time spent on file operations. Additionally, the variety of ports and wireless connectivity options make it easy to connect to various peripherals and networks. Battery Life: Battery life is critical for fieldwork or conferences, and the Surface Laptop Studio 2 doesn't disappoint. It easily lasts a full day on a single charge under moderate usage, which includes data analysis, writing papers, and web browsing. Conclusion: The Microsoft - Surface Laptop Studio 2 is an outstanding laptop for scientific research. Its combination of performance, versatility, and build quality makes it an excellent choice for researchers who need a reliable, powerful, and adaptable machine for their diverse computational needs. The only potential downside could be the price, but for the features and performance it offers, I believe it's a worthwhile investment for any serious researcher.

My first one crsshed and i got an asus rog xflow 16. Mlw tjis is minlr but rarley will you find these in new products but i was unlucky quite unlucky acutslly 2 other products that were defective i wont mention them but nonetheless i glt them exchanged and saw what they could do still includigm this one. I can say t⁸his one has an dedicated gpu that plays any game tried on it. It works flawlessly with no jitter and no lag bit tjat is to day for a bout half an hour until i started palying more it would lag during gsmes and would be mlre lag and jittery as the time progressed making it prettu much unplayable and losing any appeal and any games by that i mean getting booted for sich a horrible connection . It wasnttje wifi either its juat a bad macbine i got but i have got another one and this one does not do that all luckily. It has a loud speaker infact . Its a great screen witj a pixelsense density which gives it a more interactive exprrience allowing multi touch . It has a good content creation aspect making it a great gaming and comtent cretion combination for mitlipt types of users. The best features are the 120 hz refresh rate and qhd resolution with low latency digitizer allowing it draw and use the stylis in a very interactove ad intuitive way allowing for more control over your work with a good balancrof fluidity and ridgidity n your movements when wlrking that most artists will see and indsrstand when they grab this and utilize effect. This hence the paper like feel ehen writing aspect microsoft was promoting explained in their ads. I saw as a great featuree better ustilized though with microsoft slim pen 2. It has ok battery life but still not good enough to nlt try improving next gen. 6 hours max usally i get but sometimes im licky to get 8 . The 4050 gpu i believe os the reason its draws enlugh to leave so little left but i think considering most people using this will most likely be using this in conjunction with other devoces meaning you might be at home but if not at least comsiderng its the best peotable drawing work device you can get these days considering even wacom all in one tablets last maybe 3 to 5 hours and even the you will have old out dated tech with the same price tag this studio 2 for drawing slrk intense pirposes equals win. Though that is if you need a touchscreen othersiwse consider a macbook m3 to try . but i have an exceptional cinqit ans i still myself find it hard to consider one over the other the cintiq is necessary as a work horse but the studio 2 is just something unique and valuable in its own right for work. as well just doesnt feel right without one considering myself as an artist knowing of its functionality wouldnt feel wise if i knowingly knew of it and didnt get it as an artist. Its great laptop in genral good for gaming but exveptional for content creation

A great PC. The flexibility of using it as a PC with the keyboard or as a touch screen tablet is fantastic. The screen size and viewing quality are very good. The PEN is also handy. Lots of memory and overall speed are huge bonuses. Setup and transferring our information to it was also easy. And we look forward to using it for a long time.
