I've only had my Surface pro 12.3"-Intel Core M3 with deluxe key board for a short time but have found it to be very capable. This computer is very fast and can run smoothly with multiple tabs open at once. I am not a gamer or power user. I run Microsoft office applications, do casual browsing, family related video and photo editing, and some work related things and have found this computer to be more than capable. I recently purchased the Microsoft pen. The pen paired with the computer almost instantly and I was doodling within a minute or two. The pen is amazing thus far. I was able to use a 128 gb micro sd card to load on several applications, music, videos, to save space on the computer's hard drive. I found the applications working fine so far. Battery life is expanded quite a bit when computer is set on battery saving mode. I have found the battery saving mode does not affect the awesome display at all. The display still pops and is beautiful. I was considering a high end chrome book but settled on this machine instead because you can do so much more with it. I would not hesitate to purchase this computer again or to recommend to others who may be considering purchasing one. Did I mention the keyboard that comes with it is excellent as well.

I am... was in Love with this thing until I noticed the light bleed at the bottom of the screen. I had read reviews from other surface users who have had the issue with their own devices and I thought, "maybe I am one of the lucky ones." I was wrong! I had to exchange the first surface I bought because there were issues with the screen flickering at times, and now this. I have dreamt of owning a surface since the first RT version came out. I finally got the opportunity due to a wonderful sale and now this happens. I will have to return this one. I really tried to avoid the light bleed, but it appears in portrait mode and it really bothers me. At first, I thought it was just a kind of feature on the surface then I noticed it more at start up. Maybe to other people this is no big deal, but for something this expensive I can't help but notice it. I am also afraid it may lead to an even worst issue. I AM REALLY GOING TO MISS THE KEYBOARD, WHICH CAME WITH THE DEVICE! - This is noticeable at start up - Some reading screens in portrait mode - Ctrl-Alt-Del screen - Pictures below show portrait mode and Landscape mode using two different background colors. As I mentioned earlier. To some this may be no big deal, but I had trouble ignoring it because I spent too much money on this and I would like to have it for a while. Whhyyy Me?

I have had many laptops over the years and find that the Microsoft Surface Pro fulfills everything I need a laptop to do. It boots up quickly since it has an ssd, uses facial recognition to reliably unlock the computer, and is very light. I have added the Microsoft pen which is a great way to interface with the computer and a docking station in case I want to use an external drive or other device. The keyboard works even better than I thought it would and it is nice to be able to detach it for tablet mode rather that continue to carry it as in other 2 in 1's. I had purchased a competitor's 2 in 1 for my wife, but she got frustrated by a malfunctioning fingerprint ID and liked the weight and detachable keyboard of the Surface Pro. So we returned the competitor model and we got her a Surface Pro. I like it a lot and expect it to continue to meet my needs for quite a few years.

Previous reviewers are understandably miffed when they thought they were getting a great deal on an i5 or higher Surface Pro. I'd be too. However, I'm reviewing this for what it actually is and that it's the lowest model in the Surface Pro line that comes with the cheaper keyboard. Granted, it's not a powerhouse but it wasn't meant to be. Not everyone needs an i5 or above. For straight emails and browsing along with the pen support, this a fantastic deal at the 600 price I paid. Local BB also PM'd a burgundy pen for 73 so all in all, I think I got a pretty good deal for both. I'm actually typing this review on the Surface. Some may argue that you can get a nice Chromebook with touch support for far cheaper and they are right, you can. However even with touch support, they do not support pen support with ANY amount of pressure levelswhich was something I was looking for. In fact, the new pen supports over 4k pressure levels. Highly recommend this combo deal if you can get it.

This is quite simply one of the best portable devices you can find on the market today. I had received this as a Christmas present and it so far is absolutely wonderful. Design::: 5/5 - Microsoft has put a lot of effort into making this a compact, sleek, portable, and yet sturdy device. The device is thin and light, and very fast. Performance::: Being a fanless design for a quad-core is incredible. The tablet does get a bit warm but nothing too crazy. It speeds through most things and Windows Hello login is very fast! Multiple tabs and programs are no problem for this device. Battery life has been very good so far too. Value::: 5/5 You're hard pressed to find a laptop with as nice of a display, as quick of the processor, and a fanless design. The kickstand on this device is fanominal, Even though its better served on tables or desks, it can serve as an on lap device decently. The display is vivid and sharp, touchscreen is responsive, and its going to be very hard to find a better value proposition. If storage is an issue, grab a 128 or 256gb micro SD card + use the cloud and you're good to go. Don't need so much drive space physically in today's age.

Before I purchased this surface I had the surface 3 and I was extremely satisfied until it was stolen from me. So satisfied i talked multiple classmates into buying the surface 4. I decided to buy the surface pro 4 myself expecting even a better quality than the previous. Unfortunately that has not been the case. I do not normally leave reviews but can no longer deal with the frustration that my tablet has brought me . Since I first bought it i always had issues with the pen not working but I never gave it too much attention because I did not care to use it. Some time down the line the screen stopped being responsive I bought the warranty and it feels like waste of money. I had to wait a month for them return to me a refurbished surface. If you simply exchange it for a refurbished surface why the wait its ridiculous especially considering how important these devices become in our day to day lives. So fine they return the surface I get home only to realize that the light sensor doesn't work effectively and blacks out the whole screen unless plugged in. Since then I have been using it with the issue but now again the same issue has come up in which the screen loses responsiveness. Now I'm faced with the dreaded choice of even having to consider buying a new one when I never fully got to experience the usage of such an expensive product.

I originally bought a Surface Go for $399 which did not come with a keyboard, so that was an additional $99. I then saw that this Surface Pro (m3) was on sale for $599 (including keyboard), which was only $100 more than what I paid for the Go. So I exchanged the Go for this one and I could not be any happier. I only use it for doing classwork on Google Docs and One Note, but I can already see the speed difference between the two. This surface Pro loads pages much faster, despite only having an m3 processor. The upgrade from a 10" to a 12" screen was definitely a plus too. If you're contemplating between getting a Go or this one, I'd suggest you get this one. It's completely worth the extra $100.

I only use this Surface Pro for basic things like web surfing, streaming videos and movies, online classes, and sometimes general word processing. This laptop has enough power to handle these tasks so I'm definitely glad I chose this one. I think the resolution of the screen is really good. Since I stream a lot of Youtube videos and movies, I wanted to get as close to 4k resolution as possible so settling at 2736 x 1824 was a good compromise for the price. The included detachable keyboard is nice also. There is plenty of space between keys and the mouse pad is a good size. The only thing that would make it better would be backlit keys. The stand is also pretty cool, as you are able to adjust your screen to just about any number of various angles. Additionally, I enjoy how light the laptop is which makes it easy to travel with. This laptop is a great option.

Gor it for 600, at 360 discount but my goodness, the tax was 44. I don't know it could be found at that price point anywhere, I buy every major tech product from best buy. Some products have defects, but the service has been great when I had my geek squad protection plan, I should have bought the protection plan for this product, but I wasn't sure if it is something that I would want to keep. I just wanted to try it, and so far, it's quite well. I'm still learning about windows 10 in Surface. I am long time windows and mac user. I can't say that I am disappointed with the purchase, except that hurt my bank balance a really big hit because I am a student and I am not the extremely narrowed to any ecosystem. I got a moto g6, galaxy tab s2 8", a basic Kindle, 2014 MacBook air which is still kicking around though I had a screen problem. I need a second computer, which is why I was hyped up.

So far this has exceeded my expectations, especially for the black friday price point. I was very worried about the m3 and almost returned it before opening for the i5 but i am glad i saved the 300 dollars. I havnt noticed any lag at all and its soo silent and light. The pro signature type keyboard is AMAZING. Could not be more pefect keyboard for this size device. I had looked at samsung galaxy tab 3 as i like samsung phones and tvs but the keybaord was tiny, cramped, and very cheap looking and feeling. So glad i didnt go that route and discovered this surface. Bought this to replace a far more expensive vaio laptop and this feels like an upgrade. Thanks best buy for the zero percent financing to top this deal off!

The Surface Pro is just an amazing device. Microsoft has done an amazing job at making a low end spec'd device, that performs like a high spec'd device. For basic office activities I never find myself running out of power. I did some light gaming on it as well, to test it out, and it runs just fine. The battery life is amazing. I can go all day without having to juice up. My one and only complaint is that they only give you (1) USB port. However, there is an easy and cheap fix to that. A simple multi USB extender solved that issue. The keyboard is just the best keyboard I have ever used. The whole keyboard is back-lit. And the material they use is smooth.

I got the Surface Pro 6 M3 and it's just great. I don't think there is a better deal out there for $599. I just got a 128gb sd memory card to store files, so I can save space on the internal disk. It's fast for the everyday use, perfect size, lightweight... I love it! Don't let the specs fool you! If you are not going to use a lot of open apps at the same time, store a lot of stuff on the internal disk or high demand memory/processor/disk apps you don't need the most expensive models. 100% recommended!

Horrid, not user friendly. Keeps on trying to get me to use "trail" for new Word program and doesn't have close for it. Customer service was not good. Difficulty getting Skype to work. When logging into my Skype account, tablet kept creating a new account so I ended up with two Skype accounts... Privacy settings are difficult to use, and directed me to 3rd party websites to "opt-out". Sending me to 3rd party websites? It's not rocket science... Should be simple, "tell Microsoft not to share my personal data". They make it as difficult as possible for privacy. Trying to use Kindle on full screen, then getting back to main screen is nearly impossible... Do not recommend this product.

I was looking to replace a failing laptop and tablet. The Surface looked like a good compromise between the two. Since I am not a power user, the ram and memory have proven adequate for my needs. I don't view the storage memory as a limitation as I keep my files on One Drive. Also a microSD Card can be added if local memory is needed. When Best Buy offered the Surface with the Type cover for $599 the math made sense. So far it operates faster than my 3 year old HP laptop and I don't miss my Samsung tablet.

This is my first time owning a 2 in 1 computer. I must say this computer has good build quality. I know this computer is a base model but overall when just doing normal tasks it runs fine. I'm not using very intensive software but I'm sure that it might have some issues processing that. the keyboard is very nice. Very soft and it's backlit as well but I have a small issue with the touchpad on the keyboard. When you physically press on the pad it makes a loud click. It's something small but when you're in a library with students they notice. I do think that overall this a great computer for students. I wish Microsoft would stop pricing the accessories for this computer so high.

I've only had my surface pro for 3 days and I cannot seem to get away from it! I have forgotten about my phone. I am okay with the processor that it comes with because I will only be using it for the basics, like typing up school papers and watching videos. No need for an i3 or i5. The only negative thing about about this will be the 128gb of storage. Upon downloading a few apps, I am left with just half the storage now. Other than that, best electronic I have bought so far.

I just recently bought the Surface Pro 5th generation bundle package at Best Buy and I am very satisfied with this purchase. At a $599 special, the offer was just to hard to pass up. I had reviewed & tested many 2 & 1 type laptops for over 4 months before this purchase and had narrowed down my choices to just a few contenders. The combination of the brilliant 2736 x 1824 screen, the best keyboard I have ever typed on, and the incredible battery life of over 13 hours out did the competition for me. Can't be any happier on this purchase.

I wish we returnedthis item. We purchased it for our 10 year old to work on her graphic design techniques. I did a lot of research and found that this laptop had a lot of positive reviews and a lot of professionals use it. We arent happy with the response time of the pen. More over, we had to download bluestacks to have an android platform so she was able to use the programs she was using on her samsung tablet. We are samsung all the way. I wish she just let me get her the hp laptop I wanted to get her at the fraction of the cost which had a much larger screen.

I was between an IPad or this and chose this because I figured I would have tablet mode and a laptop mode where I could use excel, word, etc. First off, apps are almost nonexistent as compared to what we’re used to on our cell phones. This defeats the purpose of having this as a tablet. They don’t even have any of the banking apps. No capital one, Bank of America, etc. You have to go into the internet browser and add a shortcut. Long story short, if you want a laptop get this, if you want it because it can be a tablet go get something else. This is garbage. I’m returning mine today. I opened it last night on 12/8/18.

I had doubts about the Core M3 Intel processor and was going to upgrade to an i5. No need, since I am using this for mainly word processing and watching videos. It's pretty responsive as long as you're not running to many programs at once. Netflix and other video apps look great. I was amazed how bright the screen is, the colors are beautiful and the Keyboard illumination rocks. the screen is a little small but it makes up for it with clarity and brightness. I have no regrets buying this if you are looking for a light weight portable work horse.
