This is a must to do normal desktop work
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. The docking station is a great help so that I can have powered USB connections. It works well in general and has the 3 USB3 ports. My only concern is that occasionally when I plug in the SurfacePro3 it does not power up and therefore nothing attached works. You need to look at the power indicator on the top right hand side of the docking station to make sure it is working. I have had to re-dock to get it working. I am going to call the Geek Squad to see if I am doing something wrong.

compact
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Nice compact size. Like the multiple spots for a thumb drive to plug in, though those locations are a little awkward to get to when the tablet is docked.

No Surprises
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Bought this for my daughter's Surface Pro 3 which I got her for college. No issues in connecting, setting up, etc. Full plug and play ability. Have yet to use it to connect to an external display, but dorm rooms are small and desk space is limited, so kept to using the display on the surface as primary. Would recommend definitely if having to use as your desktop, as being able to use a full size and keyboard/mouse are critical.

A must have add-on
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.First, if you're thinking desktop replacement, you'll need the docking station. It allows you to connect 2 additional external monitors and still use the SP3 screen. It small, well designed, and solid. However, here's my wish-list: 1. Make it so the SP3 screen can still tilt even when in the docking station. 2. Provide a switch to turn of f power/charging to the SP3 even when docked. It's important to let laptop batteries run down and NOT have the plugged in all the time (reduces battery life). Can't simply unplug the docking station because then the devices connected to the docking station no longer work. 3. Would love to have a cable that allows the keyboard to be semi-detached from the SP3 itself. All that said, it's worth the price.

I use it all the time
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I love the docking station! I haven't actually used the cord that came with my surface pro 3 because it's so awesome. I even put it in there when I'm not charging it. At first I thought I wouldn't like it because there was no sound when it was charging, but I watched a YouTube video and learned how to fix that and I've not had a problem since. I haven't added speakers to it yet, but I think that is an awesome feature.

Great Product!
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. The docking station is a great addition for anyone using their surface as work PC. I would give it 5 stars if it weren't for the price point.

Essential Accessory for the Surface Pro 3
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This docking station really adds a level of productivity to the Surface Pro 3 that is really needed to take it beyond the realm of tablets into true laptop replacements. It comes with a Mini DisplayPort, two USB 2.0 ports, 2 USB 3.0 ports, an ethernet cable port, and an audio jack for headphones. Although it's a little pricey, I would definitely recommend this to those who use their SP3 for work.

Works Well
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I purchased one previously off E-bay and it had a short or something and kept kicking off USB items (mouse and keyboard). This was a replacement and it works fine without issues. I will say, however, that now it is more like a laptop than ever and I just should have saved 2/3 or more of the price and bought a larger, stronger, faster laptop. IN my opinion, Surface Pros are overpriced garbage.

Quite useful device, but not required
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I have enjoyed my docks for my tablet and console controllers as they allowed me to have hands free access. This does the same job and adds much needed ports to a person who likes to be modular in his equipment. This allowed me to add a portable Blu Ray, SD card reader, and external HD to the Surface without bogging down wiring from the side of the device. Price is a bit of a downer though, but I grabbed it on sale at $150.

Glad I own this machine
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.what a great buy. the surface pro has exceeded all my expectations. very well built, sturdy, easy to handle and work with. the keyboard is awesome so easy to pull on and off as needed. I have been using this for 8 months now with zero problems. few glitches when trying to get the docking stations set up with a second screen but once figured out it works like a charm.

Makes a SP3 a great desktop too.
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. The Microsoft Surface Pro 3 dock brings the SP3 full circle by allowing you to pop it into the dock and get full speed wired Ethernet, a full size monitor, keyboard and mouse all while topping off your charge. Extra USBs too if you need them. A quick pull on the sides and it pops out and you are on your way. We have finally reached the ultimate PC configuration.

Nice Addition for our Home Office
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I wanted a nice solution to use in our home office. It is a little awkward at first when inserting the Surface into the dock but once you do it a couple of times it is no big deal. The only thing I don't like is that I wish it had an HDMI port so you don't have to buy the video dongle adapter. I like the many USB 3/2 ports and the magnetic side for the stylus.

Lots of ports to expand capacity
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I love the docking station, it allows me to use a full size keyboard, mouse, and I also use an additional port to plug in a card reader so I can review and edit photos from my memory card on a full size monitor. I would highly recommend this product as it allows you to use the tablet in place of a computer and still have the flexibility of tablet use.

Great addition to my Surface Pro 3.
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. The many ports provided by the docking station are wonderful to me. The fact that it was on sale makes it a even better deal. Even if it is at regular price, I still think it is worth it compared to if you have to buy RJ45 dangle, USB hub, video expansion and etc separately. I also like the fact that my Surface Pro can be connected to external monitors.

A must have
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I highly recommend the docking station if you're going to be using the Surface Pro 3 predominately in the same location. There's only 1 USB on the Surface Pro 3 and with all of the peripherals I have, it made it easy. The slide apart design makes it really easy to dock and undock.
