In many ways better than MAC
||Posted . Owned for 1 month when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I bought this for my son for remote learning. He's 9 and loves it. It works great. The only issue I have is that when you want to use it as a laptop with the keyboard you have to have it on a flat surface. There is a weight difference from the screen and the keyboard. You can't really use it on your lap like a traditional laptop. Positives-- 1. Touch screen 2. The price is good 3. I5 CORE needed especially with zoom 4. The pen. The pen is magnetic 5. Easy to use 6. graphics are great Negatives 1. Weight issue when using it as a laptop 2. having to pay for security. (IT DOES COME WITH ITS OWN BUT I BOUGHT ANOTHER SUBSCRIPTION) I bought my daughter a Mac book 2 months before this purchase. I so prefer this over the Mac. Mac last longer and as a Mac user my self had my laptop since 2014 and it's still kicking. I got less with 2020 MAC and paid over $1000 and this came with so much for $700.

Nice 2 in 1
||Posted . Owned for 1 month when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Microsoft. Windows 10. There is not much more to say about the software. The Surface Pro 7 is a good buy. It can be very power hungry at times. I feel that the battery life could be much better. I'm comparing this to similar Android and Apple devices. I get tops 5.5 hours. I would be happy with 7. I can't see getting the 10 hours Microsoft suggests. The build quality is nice. I love the weight and sleek design. I don' really understand the reasoning behind tablet mode so I run everything in desktop mode. I would and have recommended it to friends who want a mid range Windows device.

Surface Pro
||Posted . Owned for 3 weeks when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Excellent little computer. Easy to carry. Was easy to set up. Could be a little bit better camera system on it and could have a harder glass on the front. I gave it four stars because the battery does not last as long as they say it does.

I love my Surface Pro!
||Posted . Owned for 3 weeks when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I love my Surface Pro! I can easily attach the keyboard or use it as a tablet! It works fast with absolutely no lag time. It weighs next to nothing and fits anywhere. Both tear and front cameras are excellent.

A pricy upgrade--but worth it!
||Posted . Owned for 2 months when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I had a 7 year old iPad that I could no longer update iOS, took forever to open apps, and constantly needed rebooting. I also had a a 4 year old Dell laptop running Windows 10, that was pretty much suffering the same problems. I ruled out replacing these with a Macbook because I wanted still wanted a tablet and also use some Windows apps on my PC. I ruled out an iPad Pro for the same reason. Then I ruled out a Surface because I had read that it wasn't really a great tablet. So I upgraded my iPad to a a 2019 iPad with 128GB. No regrets. After a few more months of battling with my Dell, I realized I was spending more time waiting for applications to open and complete a task than the actual amount of time it took to initiate a task (it would take me hours to use Quicken to pay monthly bills because just opening the application could take minutes). So, I decided that there was not point in delaying it any more and decided to upgrade my laptop. So after reading some reviews online and based on past experiences of buying inexpensive Windows laptops, I decided to spend a little more and get the Surface Pro 7 (balking at the $120+ price for the additional keyboard). I have no regrets about this decision either. Yes, it's more computer than I need to pay bills, run Office, and browse the web, but it is so nice to have a PC that can do it so fast. Imitation is the sincerest form of flattery. The Surface has the quality feel that I expect from Apple products and I why I have paid a premium for them. Apple could learn a few things from Microsoft for a change--in particular with the power adapter connector. The Surface's adapter does insert into a side slot, but it has a magnet that pretty much snaps the adapter in on its own. I wish my iPad did that with the Lightning adapter. Initially I used an old Bluetooth Apple keyboard with the Surface. It worked fine, but I did get annoyed with the slightly different layout and the fact that I needed to carry to separate devices around when I wanted to use the Surface elsewhere. I found a "good" deal on a Surface keyboard and I'm also glad I made that purchase. The Surface is a great lightweight laptop. A meh tablet. It is too heavy and large to hold for a extended period of time. So I'm happy that I have my iPad for a tablet and the Surface when I need more horsepower.

Great EVERYTHING

Decent Hardware but has some flaws
||Posted . Owned for 1 month when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I switched from a MacBook air since I needed to use windows 10. I was really excited to use device for about a week. It's an extremely portable device. However it has some flaws. Its an intel i5 but if you use it on battery its heavily throttled. It also gets pretty hot. the windows 10 software isn't as snappy as mac os and windows updates sometimes messes up your features more. I liked "instant on" and after updating i've been experiencing the surface pro going into hibernation. I have the alcantara keyboard with it and that is really nice to use with the surface pro. i also have it set up with a surface dock and its a solid machine when used with the dock.

Does the job
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I debated between going for a more laptop-oriented 2-in-1 like the XPS or Surface Book, the Surface Pro in the middle, and the iPad Pro at the tablet-specific extreme. I ended up with the Surface Pro for 2 major reasons: Versatility and weight. Surface Pro 7 isn't as light as the iPad/iPad Pro, and it's a little bulkier, but it is not uncomfortable to use as a reader either sitting or lying down. I often try to rest it on at least 1 edge/side if I can, but its not a terrible burden for a quick 10-15 minute read standing/unsupported. Certainly, I think it's more manageable than an XPS with no removable keyboard or the Surface Book.

New Surface Pro Love it!
||Posted . Owned for 1 month when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. The Surface Pro is everything I have ever wanted for speed and all of my adobe photoshop needs. The color is great and writing and drawing directly on the screen is a game-changer. I had lots of help from Agent Rubinato to help me make my decision. He was informative and extremely helpful in assisting me with the accessories I purchased. I love the pen and couldn't live without the detachable keyboard and sheepishly I admit I am a mouse user still. It was easy to get started using it and there are a lot of tips for getting it set up and talking to my peripherals.

Very good but not great.
||Posted . Owned for 3 weeks when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. It is light weight and fast, BUT, it is not a substitute for a Dell laptop. In hindsight I should have gone with a laptop. The screen is small and it gets noticeable at the end of the day.

Love the Surface.
||Posted . Owned for 1 month when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.(Purchased Open-Box) I do everything with this device as it is always within grasp. I do a lot of video editing/record and I also play a quite a bit of games. The i5 Processor can handle everything I need it to do. I use Movavi for my video editing and OBS for light recording. It can handle games like ffxiv or WoW (on lower settings) with no issue. I also use Stadia and this device is the perfect size for good portability gaming as well. Recommend for everyday use. The only reason this has 4 stars instead of 5 is because, I purchased this used online and there was no mention of the charger missing. Luckily I already had a charger, I just wished used products had better descriptions, especially with not being able to go into the store.

I love the form factor and the performance
||Posted . Owned for less than 1 week when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This is my second Surface. I had the first one for about four years and it suddenly stopped working, for some unknown reason. After working with Microsoft support (who were very helpful) it was determined that the old machine was no longer usable. I looked at other laptops, considering other options, but I just kept coming back to the Surface. I love the form factor and the flexibility. It travels so easily and it has more than enough power to do all that I need, including some light design work and streaming production. It is a great tool and I like it so well I just bought the new version to replace the old one.

Good all around
||Posted . Owned for 2 months when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I needed something portable to use when not around my home/gaming pc. I got this on sale and it works great. I’ve been using it mainly for photoshop and have had some fun drawing in fresco with the pen. The pen works pretty well and the keyboard is great. Can also play some less cpu/gpu intensive games. I’ve been playing persona 4, Star Wars kotor, baldurs gate enhanced and fallout new Vegas and it runs them fine. I had originally bought an expensive Asus gaming laptop but it was so loud and got so hot and I’ve read that’s just how gaming laptops are. This stays quiet and doesn’t heat up too much.

Love it
||Posted . Owned for 1 month when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Took me a bit to learn to like this, but now that I do I LOVE it. It is my backup computer to my desktop that I can take with me to travel or just to use at Starbucks or on the sofa at home. I didn't think I would care much for the tablet alone without the keyboard but it is how I use it the most. For years I have had a Chromebook as my portable computer, but this is so much better for work and play. It is fast, convenient and very portable. It is also a great picture for movies. Definitely worth the price, and I expect it to last for years.
