This type cover is very beneficial. It provides protection to the Surface 2 when not in use and it provides ease of use and conformability during use.

The type cover 2 makes the surface pro 2 awesome and easy

With original keyboard I made a lot of mistakes because the keys were flush. This keyboard is like a laptop keyboard with actual keys. Very easy to use.

Works great as a keyboard with tablet and is easy to use

Bought a new Windows Surface Pro when recently on sale. The vendor did not have the lighted Type 2 keyboard available in the red color. Found it in stock at Best Buy and purchased. It worked perfectly. No problems to date. I knew that the small size of this keyboard would make it harder to touch type on. It does have a good feel to the keys, but like any laptop computer it is a bit smaller and not as easy to use as my normal desktop keyboard. I expect to get used to it eventually. I recommend that you try one before you buy. It sure beats the on screen keyboard.

I like my dark purple keyboard because there is enough contrast to allow me to see the keys well even in the dark. The keyboard and built in mouse are responsive and easy to use. The keyboard works well and still allows you to use the touch screen through out your computer sessions. The only negative thing I can say is the unit can fall away from the computer because it is only connected by a magnet. But if you are careful everything stays attached. The keyboard fits very nicely with the Surface Pro and provides goosd protection for the Surface Pro's screen.

I bought this keyboard for a Surface Pro 2. It was well priced. The keys have a nice spring and the whole setup is very easy to move and travel with.

There is not much to say here. If you want to keep your load lite and maintain the small form factor of the surface then you will want this keyboard cover. Despite how it looks its very responsive and works just as well as a normal keyboard.

The "type" model was seemingly impossible to find or order other then on secondary market. I went into Best Buy, they ordered two for me, and I got them much sooner then indicated, like in three days. Very pleased with the ordering process, Best Buy personnel who called me as soon as it was in, and the ease of use. While some people might like the touch keyboard, I found them very difficult to use and love the type style. Hightly recommended.

For a pretty darned flat keyboard, this is surprisingly good. In my brief in-store comparison to the Touch Cover there was no comparison - this is just much, much better. However, I don't like the compromises that a small keyboard forces on you. Each Function keys actually has 2 actions - one you get to by pressing the Fn key. You have to use the Fn key to get to the Function keys as the standard behavior. If you swap the behavior, then you have to use the Fn key to get Home, End, PgUp, and PgDn. I use Function keys a lot, and also the Home, etc. keys. Still, it's a wonderful portable keyboard.

Nothing to really complain about, just a tad pricy.

It works perfectly when I have to type a lot and hello to protect de screen. it drains the battery of the surface a bit faster but is worth it!

The purple color looks great and adds a splash of fun to the look. It's nice to be able to type without utilizing the keyboard on the screen.

I love the way it clicks into the tablet. The backlighting feature is great and easy to adjust.

I could not recommend any of the other Surface keyboards for serious business use. The lack of tactile feedback and the lack of definite home keys make those devices hard to use for a touch typist. The Type Cover 2 has enough of the right things to make it a functional keyboard for serious business use - I have made the Surface Pro 2 my primary work computer (go figure!) and the keyboard is just right for the application.

I like this keyboard much better than the cheaper touch one they offer for the Surface. It clicks in/out easily and the keys work well.

Picked this keyboard and spent more because I like the resistance touch and it has been well worth the difference in price...although at the time I didn't really want to spend that much more, I'm glad I did as I would definitely not have been happy with the other keyboard....My granddaughter has it and after trying it a few times...I definitely did not like it....great for those who have been used to typing on phones a lot. Wish they would have had brighter colors so took the pink as it was the only bright color.

This product is fantastic. I am very pleased that I went with Microsoft over Apple products. Not only are they more affordable but I love that Microsoft Excel, Word and PowerPoint are on the tablet. The keyboard is a great function as it allows you to turn your tablet into a mini computer. It functions perfectly and the keys are very responsive to my key strokes. It is accurate, easy to attach to the tablet and user friendly. I love it and would recommend it to everyone looking for an electronic device of this type.

Because the Surface Pro can basically be anything you need it to be, it's good to have as many input device methods available. Sometimes, touch is fine, other times I want the stylus, but pretty much any time I'm typing more than a few words, I prefer a physical keyboard. This keyboard is responsive and backlit, which exceeds my needs. Having the trackpad there for those times when you need pin-point accuracy (generally on the desktop with a program that hasn't been updated for touch) is a giant benefit.
