Lot easier to use the tablet for writing with the keyboard. Worth the price for double duty as a cover too.

I love this thing. Might need a little getting used to, but once you do you'll never need anything else. It looks beautiful, it protects the screen, it's backlit, it's incredibly thin and light, it's a breeze to type on. What else do you want?

The keyboard is a nice color, not obnoxious. The compactibility of the unit is great and lightweight.

This is a great keyboard. For being only 6mm thick, it has good travel and the backlighting is a great feature. Not having to have Bluetooth (thereby draining battery) is an enormous plus. On the downside, sometimes the connection to the OS is a little flaky (probably the fault of the RT OS).

I have been using a touch cover with my Surface RT for about a year. I finally broke down and bought the type cover 2 because it's difficult to do any serious typing on the touch cover. The type cover has a great feel in the travel of the keys, is fairly quiet and allows me to type pretty quickly. Because it is smaller than a normal keyboard, there is some compromise with some keys, like TAB which are smaller and harder to hit accurately some times. The track pad is also a little different than the track pad on the touch cover, which took a little getting used to. When attached to the surface and folded closed, it makes a very slim and compact package. Backlighting is great and goes off when not active. I still think they're a little pricey, but I'm very happy with mine.

I bought the Surface RT about a year or so ago and it came with a touch pad. It was okay for for typing short notes and mouse navigation (when you didn't want to use the touch screen). I found it really bad and uncomfortably hard for typing out longer emails and documents. The type screen is much easier and more comfortable to use and feels more like a laptop keyboard. It is on the small side though, and there have been a couple of times when I've connected the keyboard to the tablet and it took a minute or two to work. Overall though, I'm pretty satisfied with it.

The keyboard is a great idea. It not only protects the Surface screen, but it makes logging in easier. However, the keyboard and touchpad are so sensitive, that I find while writing, you only need to brush the touchpad, and your e-mail gets sent without finishing, or it may completely jump to a different screen. Many times I find myself removing the keyboard completely. If not on a table or desk, using the keyboard is uncomfortable, as the kickstand on the Surface has a hard edge and cuts into your legs if you are trying to use it on your lap. I have yet to completely use all the functions available, so this review is somewhat limited. I find the issue of the weak area of the keyboard (between the connection and the keys) may become an problem in the future. I do not think this area will hold up and may break due to the extreme flexibility. And these keyboards are not cheap. They are about twice the cost of keyboards available for other brands. Overall this is a welcome addition to the Surface unit. It makes many functions easier (ie: manipulating the small cells in Excel), and gives total protection to the face of the touchscreen.

Great Keyboard. Snaps right into the Surface 2. Very responsive and I love the color and back-light feature. This is a must have if you own a Surface 2. Also, make sure you get the back-lighted keyboard if you buy one. The other one that is only a few dollars less is definitely a lesser quality, and I've heard they have more issues. I would definitely buy this again.

The color, aqua, definitely stands out & can be easily found. It is so very easy to attach to the tablet with it's magnetic connector; you just have to get it close & it aligns itself & attaches. The keyboard with its individual push keys is great, however the touchpad has a lot to be desired. It would have been perfect if they had it also as a push key rather than a touch area. I still like it because it's lightweight & acts as a cover to protect the touchscreen when not in use. It is also nice to be able to use the touchscreen even with it attached; sometime it's more convenient to just touch the screen to select something.

This keyboard is perfect for a Windows Surface Tablet! It connects very easily, and there is no need to turn it on/off with a switch, as with other tablet keyboards. It is very thin, but still works just as well as a regular keyboard, without the added bulk. When folded back behind the tablet, it automatically turns off so there is no problem if keys are accidentally pressed. I do recommend buying a sleeve to fit the two in; the material is cloth-like and can get dirty. Overall, great product and I am very happy with it!

I really wanted a 'real' keyboard if I was going to buy a surface pro 2. This has real keys, including full sized 'shift' keys. (I hate the half sized shift keys on some laptops and keyboards). I also didn't want a bluetooth keyboard. For me, that's just one more thing that will eat up battery life, and often the performance isn't all that great. I wanted a real connection. The touchpad has a weird texture to it, but it seems to function. Half the time I just use the touchscreen, but for office stuff I do use the touchpad. It is kind of cool how the keyboard 'clicks' into place, but man do I hate those annoying Surface commercials with everyone dancing and snapping their keyboards together. Luckily there are no dancing idiots that surround me when I've used mine.

Bought the Surface a year ago but only got the soft touch keyboard. This is head and shoulders better than that. So glad to make the upgrade finally. Wish i had spent the extra money upfront when I bought the Surface in the first place.

I tried the touch keyboard and I like this one better. I was surprised that I noticed that the keys depressed less when I was typing. I figure I will probably get used to that. I also find that I opt not to use it more often than I thought I would because if I am not on a table or at a desk it is hard to find a position that my fingers can reach it, my eyes can see the screen and the tablet isn't falling forward.

This is my second keyboard that I have bought for my Surface, Love them, Love the Colors & Love the feel. It also makes a nice cover to protect the face of the Surface while in my Back pack.
