This keyboard turns my tablet into a full laptop! It has become my lifeline at work, when I need to sit and prepare documents, and the ease of popping it into the tablet is incredible.

This keyboard is a great extension of the Surface Tablet. I personally like the clicking keys (compared with the soft-touch keyboard available). This keyboard snaps into place when moved near the Tablet. And, it pulls apart easily, making this a nicely functioning setup. Also, the keyboard does have backlighting, in case you need to work in the dark or in low-light conditions. Of course, the keyboard does make a nice cover for the tablet, when closed. A key feature that I like about this keyboard, is that the tablet will go into sleep mode when closed, and awakens quickly when it is opened back up. Finally, the keyboard, when flipped back behind the tablet, does not work, allowing the user to use the tablet with the on-screen keyboard (as a 'normal' tablet).

Bought to go with Surface Pro and all that is required is placing the tablet on the connector. Works great and uses tablet as power source. Nice way to add versatility to the tablet.

I like the ease of attachment or detachment. Its very light. And you can get it in a variety of colors. Also adds great protection for screen when not in use.

I bought this because I wrecked my old keyboard. I love the back light on the keyboard. I also bought in purple because I did not want the old boring basic black. This works great.

The lighted keyboard is easy to use even in dim light. The magnetic snap on feature is great. The carrying case if good for transporting from home to the office as well as storage.

I picked this up with a new Surface Pro 2 since the Power Cover wasn't available yet. I opted for the Type Cover since the Touch Cover didn't seem very responsive when I tried it briefly in-store. I initially didn't like the texture of the material around the keyboard, but I've gotten used to it and it's not so bad now. The keyboard keys are smooth plastic and backlit, which is a very nice feature. It didn't take much adjustment to type pretty efficiently on this keyboard, though I can't type quite as quickly as I can on most other keyboards. The trackpad comes in handy occasionally, but it's rather small so you'll probably use the touch display far more. It is sometimes hard to find the touchpad by feel too, since it's covered by the same material as the rest (apart from the keyboard) and there's only a slight indentation to demarcate it. The connection to the Surface Pro is very solid, but not too hard to separate again. You can attach it "backwards" as well so the keys face inward when you fold the cover around the back of the Surface Pro. However, I often just remove it and leave it off when I want to use the Surface Pro as a hand-held tablet. While it doesn't feel cheaply made, it is a bit flimsy. That's pretty understandable given how thin it is. I do feel like the price is a little high for how it feels, and it's almost so necessary to getting the most out of a Surface that I wish Microsoft would just include one in the box (or a voucher for one). Personally, I do think the small premium for the Type Cover over the Touch Cover is worth it. If I didn't care about the keyboard, I think I'd rather have a simple "dumb" cover rather than pay nearly as much for the Touch Cover (unfortunately, though, neither Microsoft nor anyone else makes a cheaper dumb cover yet).

This is an overall great keyboard for your surface. It adds keyboard functionality without adding bulk to the form factor of the surface. They keys have decent travel considering how thin it is, and is much easier to type on than the touch cover.

This is an amazing addition to the Microsoft Surface. My wife loves it. It connects so effortlessly as well, and has a nice feel to it. Well worth the cost!

This one actually feels like a keyboard. The one that is completely flat is something you really cannot get accustomed to typing on. Glad for the upgrade.

I am a college student and I take my Surface to class because its light and easy to carry around but it originally came with a touch cove that was difficult to type with. I decided to invest in a type cover and its was a great decision. The cover is light and thin so there was no big difference in caring it in comparison to the other. Its smooth and easy to type with. My only complaint is that the material on the back gets dirty easily and in not quite sure how to clean it. Other than that I absolutely love it.

I purchased this tablet for my daughter for Christmas. She uses it as her school computer and finds it useful. Love the keyboard for easy typing.

Bought this keyboard for my surface RT & I must say that I am impressed. I love that it just snaps on and off. The magenta color is just gorgeous with the black surface RT. I decided to buy this one instead of the flat keyboard because I need to be able to type on actual keys and this keyboard is perfect for that! It is definitely a must have for anyone who has a surface.

I love this keyboard. It is cute with my tablet and it keeps my tablet screen safe from scratches and other things while I am transporting it.

it took a little to set up and get it to work but this type cover is superior in every way to the smooth one. very nice feel to it. love it

Almost makes you think you have a laptop instead of a tablet. Bluetooth compatibility makes it a easy connection between the two devices. It runs off the tablets battery, and attaches nicely with a magnet.

Really like how the keyboard feels like a stand board while typing. This product increases the usefulness of the Surface 2 immensely. Backlighting the keys makes the Surface feel like a laptop when I need to write quickly. It is so easy to attach and remove - the engineering is inspired. Then when I fold it back - I have a 2-in-1! So glad I got this keyboard.

I love the color and the versatility and the fact that it is soft and easy to the touch and the mouse is awesome and very easy to navigate

This accessory for the surface is definately worth buying, it helps you to type faster for college and any other papers you need to do

This was a gift this year to our daughter for her tablet that was bought last Christmas. She loves it. A great addition to the tablet!
