As I stated in my review earlier, the type cover is essential to get the most out of your surface pro 3. The keyboard is a little compact, though quite easy to navigate. It is light weight, which in my opinion is quite essential if you buy a light weight pc or tablet. The backlit feature is excellent, and so is the gesture controls. The only minor issue is that the material is easy to get dirty, so my suggestion will be to go for some darker color.

I had the touch cover for the Surface RT when that launched. It was neat but functionally it didn't come close to typing on a keyboard with physical keys. I opted for the type cover when I upgraded and it is a world of difference. It works incredibly well and doubles as a screen protector for the Surface. You could certainly get a Bluetooth keyboard for considerably less, but I wanted the easy portability. That said, it would be nice if Microsoft lowered the price for these, or included them with the Surface. Still, definitely recommended.

I purchased this product as an add-on for my Surface Pro3. The keyboard is perfectly designed to give you the complete feel of a laptop including a built in track pad. Given the lightweight design and flexible casing (snap on , snap off), it can easily provide protection for your tablet or return to the more comfortable carry in hand option. I highly recommend this product if you are a speed typer and need to work as efficiently as possible.

I didn't get the keyboard when I purchased my surface but quickly got tired of using the virtual keyboard. This is so much quicker when typing anything lengthy. The keyboard snaps on and off very easily and is great protection for the surface screen. Only problem I have is that I accidently touch the touchpad and then all of a sudden I'm typing in the wrong spot. Once I learn how to disable the touchpad I will have no complaints.

Having the type cover with my Microsoft Surface Pro 3 made taking notes, writing essays, creating power points, etc. so much easier while attending college than taking with you a big bulky laptop. The type cover is very responsive, feels good to type with and love that it doesn't require anything else, just snap it on and start typing. I've had this for over a year and it's just as responsive as the day I bought it.

Ok, seriously...this keyboard is NOT Bluetooth compatible. I cannot believe it! This deducts their stars from 5 to 4! I love the way it types. It's very smooth and my fingers just glide over the keys. I don't have to expend a lot of energy pushing down nor are they too sensitive. The reach is perfect for me, but I have small hands. One other thing that took from the 5 stars is the material. When I saw them in the store, they always looked dirty. Dust clings to it too easily. It's nice and soft...feels great...feminine if you will - but not really feasible, I don't think, for a portable unit as this is designed to be. At home I have control of that; but I'm a student and as we all know, classrooms are not clean! We'll see how it holds up. But the Bluetooth is an issue. As cutting edge as the Surface is in some areas, this is like going backwards in time. I had envisioned having the tablet on a tv stand in front of me at the house and the keyboard in my lap on some occasions. You know looking down in our laps to work all the time is very bad for our posture, etc. I can work quite well with a keyboard in my lap looking up at a screen...but NOT with this!! WTH?? I saw on a shopping site (not to be names ha!) an adapter that can make it wireless, but not sure about it since asking around about it in BB resulted in deer in headlight looks. Anyway, so far so good. It's light, easy flowing to type on, quick connect physically and virtually to the tablet, back light is a nice touch but I don't work in the dark so pointless for me. The magnet feels very secure; it's not a flimsy connect. I haven't used the ports yet, so no comment on that part. The charger has a couple nice features. It can be plugged in either way so you're never fiddling around with it trying to plug is in right side up. And it's magnetic, so when you get close it grabs it and helps you connect it easily and without force. The plug is flush vertically with the tablet - not sticking out awkwardly like most chargers. Long and sleek looking~adds to the overall sophistication look the Pro3 has as a whole. Oh wait.....I just started reviewing the tablet! Sorry!!

Purple is my favorite color. When I bought my Surface Pro and I found a purple keyboard to go with it, I was so happy. My Surface Pro Keyboard is so easy to use, and it feels good to use. It hooks onto my PC with a snap, no work or shuffling required. All I need to do is tap on the keys lightly to type - this makes typing even faster with less stress on my hands/wrists. I love this keyboard!

The type cover for the surface pro 3 is an amazing accessory if you are on the go a lot and don't want to carry a keyboard and mouse. The touchpad has been improved from the older versions although there is a little lag when you do 2 finder scrolling. the pen holder is not a part of the type cover, it comes included but its a separate item that you can affix with a double sided tape.

I would never buy a tablet without some sort of cover and this is much more than that. Its thin but still has that keyboard feel. I wouldn't use it at my desk, but for all other portable uses its great. I love the snap on magnetic connection which instantly syncs the bluetooth. Its a little pricey but overall worth the investment for convenience and screen protection.

This keyboard works perfectly with the SP3. Many will state that it should be included with the SP3 since how can you have a laptop replacement without a keyboard? However, the SP3 can be used without a physical keyboard. I love the back lighting on the keyboard. My only complaint? I should have purchased a brighter color which would highlight the SP3 even more!

The surface keyboard is needed if you want to the good use out of the tablet. I purchased mine as a laptop replacement, and without the keyboard it would not be that. The keys are surprisingly nice, and the back-light is a very nice touch. The only issue is the fact that is comes with a very bad attachment for the surface pen. Its a small loop that attaches with an adhesive. For the price you'd expect something much better.

Pros: Color, Protection, easy to use, solid, nice leather material used Cons: weight, It can be used with or without the keyboard cover. Insering or removing the Surface Tablet is simple, yet it holds the tablet securely.

The Type Cover 3 is everything I asked for. It's small, light, and surprisingly enough, a joy to type on. The only downside I would jot down is that it bounces up and down quite a bit when it's angled up against the Surface. Other than, that it's a joy to use. If you have a Surface Pro 3, do yourself a favor and get a Type Cover 3.

This keyboard is awesome to type on. It fits nicely with the Surface Pro when sitting in your lap. I was hesitant on purchase at first but it is worth the money to purchase. Backlit works nice when needed and the holder for the pen is week worth it. I have not had any troubles with my pen falling off like others have reported.

I love the keyboard, as it makes typing on the tablet A LOT EASIER. The pen holder loop is a bit awkward, but it doesn't really bother me. My only issue would be that I wish there was a way to have it stay open when flipped back. I know you can just take the keyboard off, but it would be a neat feature. Other than that, love it!

My biggest peeve with this keyboard is that you do not get it with your surface and it really is one of those required items to make the surface fully functional. My second issue is the lack of a decent solution for the pen, a sticky piece of tape? Seriously? I've already had to replace the pen once since the holidays thanks to the inability to store it properly with the tablet and keyboard .. next investment will need to be a case with something but then it takes away from the easy flip and use functionality if I have to keep putting it away in a case .. with such a cool magnetic power supply, you'd think they'd come up with a similar idea for the pen .. oh well .. The function of the keyboard is good, it's easy to use, comfortable for the most part in a variety of settings including putting my feet up and typing whilst relaxing, something you just can't do well on other tablet style machines. I do like how it functions practically with the surface itself, but honestly it is a necessity so again there's that annoyance of having to pay an extra $130 to get the full functionality which takes away from enjoying it completely.

I have been using the keyboard for several months with my Surface Pro 3 and I have to say it works great. I would recommend it to anyone that has purchased a Surface Pro 3. The first surface pro 3 had issues not connecting to the keyboard but Bestbuy made an easy exchange. The keyboard is very nice for those of us who wish to have one and is a good cover for the screen when not in use. Only objection is the price. Should be a part of the computer and not an add on. Leave it to Microsoft.
