Using a current Win8.1 Lap top it works quite well and was easy to set up. Haven't been able to get my tablet, asus transformer pad TF300T, running android 4.2.1, to work having tried a number of the third party miracast programs. My android phone Samsung S4 works fine

i'm gonna tell you the bad part of using this product first. it is not the hardware itself, but it is windows and the firewall. Many people had hard time connecting the WDA, it is because unlike Android, Windows and antivirus software have firewall. The only solution is disable your firewall each time you connect it with your TV, unless you don't use antivirus program at all.
My TV already got a WDA, but it only works with Android and not PCs, so i have to get this to sync flash videos from my PC. I also got the Chromecast, but it doesn't support all the websites and flash video, so this MS WDA is useful for me.
after you disable the firewall, everything is simple from this point, you connect it with your PC, and download the MS WDA software from MS store, and do the advance setup. the connection is fast, and very smooth on Android.

Very easy to use and set up...as long as the TV has USB and HDMI ports. It will disconnect at times if you have internet surges, and the connection needs to be reestablished. This can be a great piece of technology when used with the Surface - can watch video, use for presentations and training - the uses are many.

Others have more limited range and have a very long connect time. I was able to quickly connect to this from my Lenovo Carbon X1 and streamed a movie to an AV receiver with no issues at all.
Might replace the other netgear DTV-3000 I have.

This is a great accessory to add to your, "tech-to-go"collection. Microsoft has created a simple to install and easy-to-use device to duplicate or extend the display of your WiFi device to your television screen. Eliminats the hindrance of cables and adapters.

This is a mirror cast device, dissimilar from Chromecast. This is for wifi display mirroring with Android devices and mirroring or extending with Windows wifi display compatible computer systems. With Android, you cannot cast like a chromecast with chromecast compatible apps, you mirror the entire display and the display must remain on. With Windows computers it acts as an additional display that you can mirror or extend to with is the benefit to this over chromecast devices. Also over chromecast it doesn't require to be connected to a wifi network in order to function, it is a direct to device over wifi which makes it faster, not having to go through and access point.

I purchased the Microsoft Display Adapter after experiencing numerous problems getting my Toshiba computer's WIDI connection to work without frequent freezing and stuttering. The Microsoft Wireless Display Adapter worked perfectly right out of the box allowing me to stream movies and videos from my computer to my Samsung HDTV in full HD smoothly without any artifacts. Great product at a good price!

I bought this for work. I use a second monitor and thought it would be a great way to get rid of that stupid chord/adapter mess the MS Surface FORCES you to use. Well, it was not to be, the resolution is not good enough and makes the font hard to read. There is also a very small lag in the mouse pointer that drives me nuts. Back to the chord and back to the store with this thing. It does seem to play Netflix and other videos pretty good with good resolution.

This is very easy to use but unfortunately didn't keep up with the idea of putting games on a large tv. There was too much lag in the image. Everything else seemed to work really well.

Great improvement over version 1 from MS. Easily attaches to USB and HDMI on most HD displays. Separate power to the USB side is possible, but no power adapter is included. Most redundant adapters I have in my possession work fine though, but haven't needed them (yet).
Plastic case, connecting both female ends of the cable actually helps remind me to remove the adapter before departing.
Very little lag, nice UI from MS on the interface (found in the MS Store).

Very simple to use. I connected this to the big monitor in the conference room. I tested this with my surface tablet and a newer HP laptop both running windows 10. Mostly showing business graphics like PowerPoint slides. I did show some training videos and the sound and video was as clear as using an HDMI cord. I also used this with an android phone just to see if it would work, which it did. It is wireless so I think meant to be used in the same room as the monitor.

Although initially skeptical about whether it would work (it's a Microsoft product), I was subsequently very impressed. Took it out of the box, plugged it into my TV, turned on my laptop, changed the source using the TV remote and voila, my laptop's screen (desktop) was on the TV. I was amazed at how easy it was and that it worked so well. Plus it is wireless (no cables needed) and it will work on any TV. Great for showing photos on your HD TV from your laptop with no hassle.

I love the this device. I use it to cast pictures, YouTube videos and movies to my Epson projector (via a Pioneer receiver) form my Samsung Note 3 and SP3. Very little lag on Samsung Note 3 and almost no lag from SP3, great quality.
My favorite feature is, when I work from home, the ability to use a TV as a second "monitor".
The adapter is in a closet with all of my electronic equipment and I have never had an issue connecting to the adapter I'm usually about 20 feet away.

Set-up was very easy. Does require a computer with wireless display supported. Video does stutter now and then, but overall broadcasts well to a TV. Suggest the adapter ve in line of site for best results, not hidden behind TV.

I didn't expect much from such a device since I have a Chromecast and rarely used that. But once I used this, I found out how much more convenient it was to connect and display local content on my TV. I've always used an HDMI to connect my devices. With this, I no longer have to do that to get the same results. Just plug the wireless display adapter into an HDMI port on the TV, plug the usb cable to a usb port on the TV (or to a power source if the TV doesn't have one). Then on your device, just find the wireless display adapter and connect to it. Done. Everything is mirrored from your device onto the TV. This seamlessly with Windows 10 and supported Android 4.4+ devices. The one thing that makes this item different than the Chromecast is that you don't need an internet connection for it to work, whereas the Chromecast requires a wireless connection in order to function. Perfect for traveling to places it's a hassle to connect to the wireless network (e.g. hotels, relatives/friend's place) or even places with limited to no wireless.

Just plug it in, select the HDMI input on the TV, choose the correct active display from the charms bar on your Windows 8 device and your up and running. I noticed a slight lag from the laptop to the TV but overall a good product.

Amazing device, connects seamlessly with my Windows 8.1 laptop and Galaxy 5S phone. Initially I did notice some problems regarding lagging and taking too much time to connect, but once I installed the Microsoft Display Adapter App from Windows store it worked without any issues. I also like the small size of the device which is very handy to carry.

Most reviews say it works like a charm. Didn't for me. My computer was a 3yo Core i3 laptop (3rd gen) upgraded from Win8.1 to Win10. Once plugged into my TV's HDMI, the TV displays the Microsoft logo. My laptop can see it too, but for some reason, it just won't connect. WiFi driver up to date. Was getting quite frustrated, and then poof, it just worked. Then it didn't. Then it did again. All that happened within a day. Now it has been working, but still don't know why. Nice thing about this, unlike chromcast, is that it doesn't need your in house wifi to mirror the image. And your computer's Wifi can still get internet content using the in-house wifi, while simultaneously beam things to the MS adapter.
