The MS Display Adapter works well and has very little latency. There are periodic screen freezes and dropouts but not enough to severely impact my viewing. Works best with presentation material such as PowerPoint. I carry one of these in each of my projector bags, laptop bags, and brief case. Great in a pinch, easy to setup but you will need a USB power source for it to run so check to see if your projector and/or TV has a powered USB port near the HDMI IN or you'll need to run a separate USB cable from the adapter to a power source. Gave it only four stars due to the dropout and picture freezing but keep in mind that I'm streaming HDMI 1080 video to it so all though it doesn't do a perfect job with video, it does just as good as Apple TV 4K which I also use.

    No WIFI Needed

I'm one of the few that still have the Verizon unlimited unthrottled data plan with 2000 minutes of talk time. This is the only internet I ever use, their 4g. I don't have WIFI so ChromeCast and Amazon Fire Stick you can't setup as you can't cast and use your hotspot at the same time. The Roku 3 you can but it but for some reason it keeps cutting out when casting. This is where the Microsoft adapter Excels. It casts all my shows perfectly. I now have 3 of them, one on each TV.

I have 2 of these devices. I don't use them a lot, but it's good having them just in case. However, I have had a little trouble getting them up and running. This last one had less issues, but still. Out of the box I had trouble getting a reliable connection to the video receiver. Once I did (after about 4 tries), I was able to update the firmware. After that, the connection is quicker and apparently, more stable. Also, the button (that I assume is a reset) doesn't seem to do anything.

This is my second wireless video adapter. I already had one, but this came in a bundle so I kept it. I admit it has improved since the previous version which I almost returned because I could not get my PC to connect. I did have some issues connecting this to my laptop, but it was less painful than the previous one. Also, once it connected and I updated the firmware, it hasn't had a problem. Also, the "reset" button doesn't seem to do anything! Get it fixed!

The Microsoft wireless display adapter is quite nice and should work with most newer devices. I guess I should clarify that; as long as the device manufacturer doesn't lock out MiraCast support, like a lot of Android devices do, unfortunately. Unless Chromecast has changed, this adapter allows you to, basically, show EVERYTHING on your TV and not just one application at a time, so it's like you're physically connected to the TV.

This was kind of an added item with Office 365. Frankly, I didn't expect it to work very well - and I already had a media extender I'd purchased separately. But it works and works very well. I was able to connect both a laptop AND my Galaxy S7 to a TV and a projector. And it was pretty easy to do so. Not bad for a "bonus" add-on with Office. Oh, and it turned out to be V2 of the Microsoft extender, not a V1.

I have been trying all kinds of ways to get my new Dell Inspiron 5675 to extend the desktop to my Samsung Smart TV. This Microsoft product does not tell you on the box that the computer must be Miracast ready. So I had to make a 2 hour round trip to return it; at least I got my money back. I am trying other products and do not have a final disposition yet.

Easy to set up and connect. The only thing I have a problem with is that it lags every 15-30 seconds or so, therefore, if you're trying to play a video on the screen using the adapter, it's going to be a bit choppy. But if you're giving a presentation with ppt or whatever that something isn't constantly moving on the screen then it'll be good for you.

I specifically ordered this particular office 365 bundle to get this Wireless Video/Audio Extender. But it did not work well for me. Although I was able to get it connected it would not stay connected and also when it did connect i could only hear the show and not see it on my screen

To get the wireless to work you need a powered ISB to be within a foot of the HDMI connection. You must have a newer projector as my MIMIO’s USB does not work making this device useless. I love what it’s supposed to do it just does not work for me.

I first got this when I purchased my surface pro. Set it up at home and was pretty excited that I could stream wirelessly to my tv. However. as soon as we turned everything on, we noticed a considerable amount of lag, specially for videos and media.

This is decent for projecting a slideshow or powerpoint, but it has terrible latency for audio sync'd with video. Compared to a chromecast or apple TV, this device is lagging far behind.

This one is pretty dang good. IT could have the app store pop up with the app you need to download finding it isnt as easy as it should be other then that no complaints as long as you turn off sleep mode on your PC!

This enables me to share my computer with my husband to review travel decisions and more. Nothing like having a 52 inch tv for a computer screen. Also looking at photos is awesome and can now share with friends

Most new T.V.s have this feature built in but this was a life saver for my older model. If you have a lot of wireless devices running in the same room you might have trouble with signal interference.

I bought this in the Office 365 bundle. Works well, and transmits sound as well. I don't think I would have bought this by itself. Would have gone with something that has other functionality included.(Chromecast or Fire Stick)

Connected it to my tv and was wondering how hard it was going to configure and did not take much to have it work with my Surface Pro and Android phone. A nice feature to have to just broadcast right to the screen.

Wow, I am stilllearning how to do this and am finding it is so fun to see things perspectively on your computer screen on a larger space. Especially, when I have drawn pictures, it is kind of fun.

This device works out of the box but you will most likely have to download microsoft's app and update the devices firmware! After that so far it's only disconnected a few times.

Got the product to create better sound in the movie room. It paired nicely with my Samsung 2.1 soundbar, but the speakers are not that great. I had some older Pioneer speakers that I used instead.
