A very solid feeling controller. Lacks blu-tooth connectivity for PCs, but overall a good buy so far.

I bought the Microsoft - Xbox Elite Wireless Controller for PC gaming. The controller is a solid build that feels good in your hands. The control buttons are interchangeable, ideal for multi-game setups. This feels like a product that will last for many years. The 2 joysticks allow me to experience gaming in a new way, 3D.

If you’re an avid FPS gamer, this controller is ideal. Fine tuning with ease and very little required to set up. Very user friendly for a gamer who’s learning the ropes whenever it comes to precision gaming controls in my opinion. Definitely exceeded my expectations.

    Perfection

The Xbox already has one of the most well designed controllers out there, and this one refines it to perfection. Everything about this exudes quality, from the high end packaging, to the case, to the controller itself. It is a joy to hold and you immediately get a feeling of quality and fit and finish that is unparalleled in Xbox controllers. All of the interchangeable parts lock in magnetically, no friction tension parts to wear out, no wondering if it is going in the right way, they just lock into place and are secure but easy to remove when you want to customize the controller. The long throw sticks are perfect for driving games or other precision uses, and the two profiles allow for on the fly switching of sensitivity, a great feature for running around and then switching to a lower sensitivity mode for careful aiming. The mappable under paddles mean you can map buttons that would normally take your thumbs off of the sticks to your other fingers. The hair trigger locks are great, I tend to set the right one for hair trigger and the other for long throw for aiming. I also like that this controller, like all of the other Xbox controllers, just uses two AA batteries. Sealed in batteries means that you can't just swap in new ones and keep going - and when they eventually wear out, it means a new controller. I use high capacity rechargeable batteries in mine. It also comes with a nice long braided USB cable if you need to use it wired. This controller allowes for you to customize it exactly to your gaming style and it is the ultimate Xbox controller. Recommended for gamers who are looking for the very best and are willing to pay the price for this controller.

The best controller for any console hands down, the only issue I've had is with the analog sticks. Sometimes movement happens in-game without having to move the sticks.

"You get what you pay for" is a phrase that can be applied perfectly to the Elite Controller. Most will balk at the high asking price, but this is a premium item and it is priced as such. This isn't going to be an easy sell for casual gamers who are fine with $19.99 after market controllers, or people who are completely satisfied with the standard controller. This controller will be marketed to the truly competitive gamer and people who are looking for something more durable & provides a wealth of options for customization & comfort. From the moment you pick it up you can feel the quality of the product. it has a nice weight to it & has the look & feel of a premium built product. The controller is comprised of swappable magnetic analog sticks, paddles and directional pads, so there is is less degradation thus giving the controller a longer shelf life. The Xbox also has it's own software which allows you to further customize various aspects of the controller to your liking! One thing to keep in mind, this controller isn't going to magically make you a better player. Please don't expect to shoot to the top of the scoreboard all of a sudden. This controller is meant to supplement your skills and provide you with additional customization and comfort options that could prove favorable for the end user! It's easy to scoff at the price, but purchasing this is no different than buying a quality gaming headset, racing steering wheel, or Arcade Fighting stick, all of which provide far less versatility. I am very pleased with my purchase and would advise anyone who is remotely interested or on the fence to take the plunge. Experience your games with a new sense of freedom!

[PC Wired player] I'm a rocket league player, but I don't play excessively. Probably use the joypad about 8-10 hours a week. I do not use it wirelessly, and have to have it plugged into the PC's USB all the time (a serious design flaw, imho). The USB plug failed after about 2 weeks. I now have the USB cord wrapped around the joypad and secured with electrical tape just to keep the connection stable. The plug is cheaply made. Now the left analog stick is behaving erratically, and will not reach the right (+y) direction completely. But sometimes it does. The analog controls are cheaply made. For such an expensive controller, this is ludicrous. [An aside: I don't usually do it, but since this controller was so expensive, I got the Best Buy warranty on it. And gee, now that it's broken and needs to be replaced for no charge to me... "We're sorry. This item is not available for pickup within 250 miles of 80226." GOLLY!]

Second elite controller that has broken from the trigger. My first broke from the left side trigger or LT button. My second one has broken on the right side trigger now. Outstanding controller until it breaks and is pretty much useless. Each one only lasted me about 1 year and a half roughly.

These controllers come with rubber grips that become unglued after sometime. They also expand so gluing them back down is likely not an option. Microsoft will do nothing to remedy this even though thousands of consumers have reported this factory defect. Furthermore, Microsoft has confirmed the life expectancy for this 150 dollar controller is 90 days this is also what their warranty is. I don't like people wasting their hard earned money so felt the need to leave this review. Please before buying go on youtube and look up all the people with this identical issue. I hope i helped someone save 150 dollar. P.S - If you are gonna buy it get bestbuy's extended warranty. Best Buy doesn't play around with that.

This controller is great for someone that always plays games. This Elite controller can be used on both the Xbox One console and a Window 10 PC. Its highly customizable and comes with all the accessories. So there's no need to purchase additional thumb sticks or paddles or charging cable.I also comes with a nice sleek case to store all the accessories and controller in. This has a good weight to it from the normal Xbox controller. The feel of the Elite controller is immaculate. It feels exactly like a premium product should. The only setback is the adjustment it takes to get use to the additional paddles underneath. They are placed in a perfect spot, but I wasn't used to paddles underneath and I would sometimes accidentally press the paddle. But after you get a few days with the Elite controller the paddles did not bother me and the controller felt great in my hands. Using the Xbox One accessory app, this Elite controller can be configured exactly how you like with the button mapping. So you can map any button on the controller, not just the paddles below. You can even do pre-sets for different style games.

I really like the elite controller. The standard controller already felt pretty good in my hands but the elite controller feels fantastic and far more substantial then the lighter, cheaper feeling original. The non-slip grip is nice and you can do almost anything with the added paddles and trigger stops. Although I rarely have all four paddles mapped out or even installed at one time, it's great that I can just throw a paddle on and map it in a matter of seconds to make a certain task in a game a little more convenient. Same goes for the different joysticks, though I have not found a need for the octagonal d-pad. The only gripe I have is the price tag. I suggest you save your money unless you absolutely understand that it's just nice to have. It's not going to change your life or make gaming any better than it already is. Also, because of said price tag, it would have been nice if it came with a rechargeable battery at the very least, and a charging stand at best. The days of having to always have a stock of AA batteries just to game should have been done away with years ago and it definitely shouldn't have to be done when you spend so much on a controller.

Takes a while to get used to...

Takes a while to get used to but it is great to use once you get the hang of using the paddles. The paddles button mapping can be changed in the app that you download on your Xbox One. Your other normal buttons (such as A,B,X,Y,RB,LB, etc.) can also be mapped to other buttons as well. Two custom mappings can be saved to your controller; there is a switch on the controller that allows you to switch between the two saved mappings. The build quality is sturdy and has weight to it; the weight makes the controller feel more secure in my hands. The trigger-locks are useful in fps games or any game with shooting mechanics; the locks can be set with a small switch underneath of the controller; I have not had any problems with the controller yet as some users have reported having stick drift occur. All in all though, I got it for $40 dollars off so at $110 dollars, it is worth it for me.

This Elite controller is better than I expected and a bigger difference over the standard controller. It is heavier but also feels much nicer in the hand due to the texture and build quality. The thumbsticks move so much nicer like there are bearings or magnets controlling the movement and the bumpers also feel much better clicking. The triggers also move effortlessly without any notable resistance and the underneath paddles are nice additions. The new multi-face dpad is also great, it unlocks clicks you didn't think existed before. Switching accessories is simple. Really great controller, I also got the 2 year geek squad protection to replace this if it breaks.

This is a big improvement over the standard controller. The paddles are perfect for shooters and I imagine they would be useful in racing games, too. The customization app gives many tweaking options. Most will not appeal to everyone, but everyone will find something they like. The controller is very solid. All interchangeable parts are magnetically secured, so not snaps to wear out. The only downside is the battery cover is different and will not work with many rechargeable battery docks. I use rechargeable AAs anyway so it's not a big deal for me. The controller is much heavier than standard, which I like. Some may dislike this, though.
