Can get a membership for less on sale

It is much better than the PS network, so it makes sense that it costs. You can find 12 month memberships online for less; however, the network is worth $60 if you cannot find it cheaper.

It's not mandatory, but come on it kinda is. You can't use any of the services on xbox if you don't have live, online gameplay, netfix, etc. So if you can spend for the system then you can afford this once a year. This one comes with a free skin for killer instinct. I gave it to my buddy who still has 10 months left on his live, I don't play fighting games.
