So, this is a chatpad. It has a keyboard and the keys are even backlit and it works very well on Xbox One. It adds a minimal amount of weight to the controller and I actually find the controller more comfortable with this attached. I would never play without the Chat Pad attached and here's why - the programmable buttons. There are two buttons that you can program to do anything you want. By default they are set to screenshot and video capture accordingly, but I have set one of mine to snap the Achievements app. It's very easy to customize and use.

Bought this Chatpad for my 11 yr old Grandson and he loves it, I feel the pad/keyboard is a little small for growing fingers, but the quality is really nice.

Purchased it for the obvious reason of saving time texting through xbox one messaging, how ever I was disappointed to see that you can. Not plug in Astro A50 Headsets to this while it's plugged into to your controller, it's either you have this connected to your controller or you use your Headset, it comes with its own headset (Microsoft basic black headset) to connect below the chat pad but you can't use yours. Not sure if it works for others. Since I only own the ASTRO A50s and sadly have to disconnect one or the other every time. Other than that it's a very useful keyboard. I'd recommend it either way.

Works great right out of the box. Auto detected and updated controller automatically. Love the volume control for buds and mic.

I bought this almost solely because I wanted to be able to communicate during twitch streams. This made it possible. It has also come in handy any time text input is needed. I thought it might be cumbersome, but it sits quite nicely in the nook below the controller without making it hard to handle the controller. If you are looking for an easier means of input...this is great. It also comes with a headset (if you need one).

If you ever had to type any thing over a sentence on a controller, this is a MUST! Well built, make s the controller heavier, but not unwieldy. And if you don't like the way it feels while gaming, it just pops on and off with almost no effort (I would almost say a perfect fit/connection to the controller). So if you're writing a review with this or just changing names on XCOM, this is great!

This is worlds better than toggling through the letters with the control stick. My fingertips are fat and I can still punch the little buttons without trouble. The chat pad fit perfect and installed quickly with an update. Since we use the XBOX for YouTube, streaming and other multimedia purposes, its great for searching and everyone in my family really likes it. It's handy for messaging during a game as well and lets you return to the action quicker. It looks cool and I like the way it lights up in the dark. Only problem, is that some of the characters that are secondary or tertiary like: &?|/ seem to not correspond with the button correctly. This was a problem when I wanted to manually type in a specific link. Maybe it has something to do with the version I have or a missing update. This is the only reason I did not give it 5 stars.

This keyboard is f'n awesome. The audio controls work f'n awesomely. It works f'n awesomely with the Elite controller. I'm a Mac guy, so usually I say f Microsoft, but the Xbox One is f'n awesome.

I send a lot messages to friends and i really needed a chat pad to make my life easier. Totally worth it. And it has a headphone/headset jack so you can plug in your headphones or headset. Glad i didn't have to compromise anything. The pad feels sturdy, well made. The buttons have a nice comfortable feel. Would recommend for sure.

The Xbox One Chat Pad is an awesome addition to anyone's gaming arsenal. Instantly type messages to friends and type codes into system for redemption in seconds instead of minutes. I used to hate typing one character at a time by selecting each character, now I just type like on my phone, love it!

I read a bunch of reviews online about this chatpad not easily fitting onto the controller. It fits my 3 controllers just fine. I have two older controllers (the standard one and a midnight forces one) that I bought in Aug 2015 as well as a covert forces controller that has the new design (with the headphone jack). It fits all 3 just fine. My kid yanks the chatpad on and off of his midnight forces controller all the time without issue. It's a quality piece. All the buttons have a nice feel and they are backlit. It is 'hot swap-able' meaning you can take it on or off the controller in the middle of a game and it continues to work fine. You certainly don't have to restart games or refresh anything if you leave it off, then put it on in the middle of a game to enter text.

Attaches easily to my controller. Doesn’t feel like a hassle and looks likes it’s per of the controller. Makes searching for items in the store much faster and easier. Sending and Replying to messages is fast and easier than using the popup keyboard on the tv.

ive used other chatpads and didnt like them. they felt cheap and worst of all they had to use the usb chip. this one, you just plug in update and use. its that simple.

My husband had one of these for our 360 and loved it, and we couldn't believe they didn't have them for the Xbox one when it first came out. So glad they finally made one, it's better than the 360 one plus it comes with a headset which makes it a great deal.

I love this chatpad its a great way to play and type all from the controller I got this for my Brother and he loves it too it makes typing really fun and easy so if you have a gamer or yourself i say get this it balances the controller and feels good on it

To start Let me say I have big hands, boot huge Andre the giant hands, but big hands. So my first concern was with tiny buttons. It turns out that the bottoms aren't as small as I was thinking and this device turned out to be really easy to use which was great since I was using Xbox for all my internet use. Plus the keys are back lit every time you start typing. I loved that feature cause to be honest I don't like keeping the light on in my room. This product was easy to use easy to install and over all very handy. Good job Microsoft/Xbox

I love this keyboard. It makes typing things out on the Xbox 1 much easier! Even better is although that it fits snuggly, and is sturdy, the design makes it so that it doesn't alter how you hold this controller. Also, It has a 9mm headphone jack so that you can use a wider variety of headsets, so if you have one of the Xbox one controllers from when The consol first was released that doesn't have that, this is a good investment to open up that option to you! The convenience of this product is awesome, I recommend it.

I paired this with the Elite Controller. I wish it came without the headset but if you needed one its included. It looks awkward and i was afraid it would get annoying but its well designed and i hardly notice its there during game play.

I love video games, do you have an idea how much time you can lost, writing your password, codes, names, and so!, a lot!!, with this keyboard everything its simple!! you spend a lot of time playing instead of writing

I think this is the best accessory to own if ur an xbox one owner. This chat pad allows for fast communication with other online players and as well typing in the browser/ other apps. The keys are perfectly positioned and big enough.
