Great Console for Those Who Waited

For Halo fans who are still rocking an Xbox 360, this is the console to upgrade to. I'm not a huge fan of some of the other flashy Halo consoles of the past, but this one still looks elegant on the TV stand. I'm thankful they didn't go with the army green and gold chrome of one of the past consoles. The unit itself is very high end and has a lot of detail to the graphics on the console and controller. The custom sounds to this console are cool, but of course are only activated if you physically touch the console. It's nice the console came with the Limited Edition copy of the game, but it's too bad that it's a download only rather than giving me a disk. This console is the only way to buy the Fotus armor; this is cool if you want to differentiate yourself from everyone else online, or you can flip it for a healthy sum to save on the overall cost of the console. A few points to the negative. While it's great this console has a 1 TB hard drive, only 780 GB are available right out of the box. This wouldn't be much of a problem, but Halo 5 takes up over 54 GB as a download. If all games are this massive, the hard drive will be used up very quickly. The headset this console comes with is as cheap as it can get, and it takes a while to find the setting on the console to increase the volume to make it useable. The connecter from the headset to the controller is very tight, but very prone to creating static, even with the smallest of touch. Lastly, there was the tiniest paint blemish on my controller out of the box, smaller than a pin head, hardly noticeable but still there, just to the left of the Y button. Overall, very good excuse to upgrade to the current gen console. In the current line up, this would be the console to get. In the near future, the best will be the Elite console for the same price as this one, but then no games come with and it looks as bland as every other black console on the market. Just do yourself a favor and go pick this one up while you still can, you'll regret it later when they're all sold out.

So first off I just have to say that originally I did not like the Xbox One back when it was first announce. I was a hard core Xbox 360 owner for years but when Xbox announce all the restrictions their new system was going to have I decided to go with the PS4. After awhile owning the PS4 I realized that the games just were not all that great as far as exclusives, as well as the controller and the interface. After Halo Guardians was finally release I was convinced to the make the switch back to Microsoft and Im honestly glad I did. The detail and quality put into this system is amazing. The colors the details and sound from this system is top notch. Even the packaging was very well done. Xbox one has improved much since its initial launch. With the recent upgrade and backward comparability its a no brainier now. Top points for me is the controller and its rumble feature which I feel is far superior to PS4, home screen is much improved and the list of exclusive games are far better. My only real complaint about this system is that any game you play has to be fully downloaded onto your hard drive. The system does not read the disc except for security verification. So when you first buy your game for example halo5 which is 60GB then you could be waiting for awhile before your able to fully enjoy the game, and of course with this comes the issue of amount of memory available. Luckily this system is a 1TB and Xbox has the ability to use external hard drives to expand memory which will be very important since everything must be download onto the system. So besides that I have no other complaints. This is a must have for gamers.

    It's Gorgeous, but...

So first off, from my experience, I love this console. It's gorgeous and, in my opinion, a good buy. Reasoning? Because you are getting a 1TB Special edition console that looks amazing, has neat sound effects, and it comes with the special edition version of Halo 5: Guardians. Just the game separately is $99.00. So in my opinion, it's a good buy. Not great, but good. Now to the bad. It hasn't been my experience, but my best friend and I both bought this the same day. After day 2, while playing The Master Chief Collection, his console DIED. We ran through all troubleshooting methods to no avail. After contacting Microsoft and being on hold for 2 hours, they told him to take it back to the store he purchased it at for an exchange. It was an easy process to do so, but still an inconvenience. Other than that momentary frustration, he loves his just as much. Note: This is my second Xbox One, first being a Day One Edition, and I have had NO problems with either console..

I like the Xbox one already so adding a bit for a special edition console that comes with a game I was going to buy anyway was an easy choice. I was disappointed that their is no game disc included. It comes with a card that has a download code. I have fiber-optic 400gbps internet and it took 24 hours to download and install the game. That was only the beginning of the server troubles. You would expect not to have to deal with this when you buy a special edition console like this. Also the game has a crazy strict ban system that needs revised. You can't leave a game or you will get banned. The servers cut out sometimes at the end of a match and you get dinged for leaving a game and get banned....These aren't always quick games either. This halo version isn't for the casual gamer and I won't be purchasing another Halo game until I know these issues are gone. At least the console is neat and there are other good games like Forza 6 to keep me entertained.

I'm reviewing the Xbox and the steal guardian figurine only since I didn't get into Halo 5 much. This Xbox design is the best I've seen yet. I always buy fancy new Xbox designs when I upgrade to a new console. I still think they could do better but this one does have a lot of details and the blue accents are my favorite part. The Xbox works pretty well. I've had some issues with freezing and glitching but I honestly think that was from the game I was playing (Black Ops III). 1TB of memory is all you need really. It can be annoying when it fills up and you have to delete something but I'm sure you're not playing 20 different games at the same time anyway. Just keep your favorites downloaded and delete ones you don't need at the moment. You can always get them back. The controller looks and feels great too. The steel guardian thing that comes with it is one heck of a project. I didn't do it myself because I watched videos on it and I'm afraid I would screw it up. But it's definitely interesting and quite an accomplishment if you can do it.

I love the look of the Halo 5 Limited Edition Xbox One. The custom sounds it makes are a little weird, especially if you are used to the default sounds. Having a 1TB hard drive is so much nicer than the 500GB drives. I think 1TB should be the bare MINIMUM, as all these games take up so much space it fills up quick. The two downsides of this is: one, the price. It costs $499 for this bundle, when other bundles with equivalent specs (custom design, game, 1TB hard drive) are selling for $399. It's the bundle everyone was crying for so of course they charge a premium. The second thing I don't like, (and this is not limited to this bundle), is the fact that the game is a digital download rather than a physical copy. I would much rather get a physical disk than a digital download. I think Gamestop sells all their bundles with physical games instead of digital downloads as they refuse to sell them that way. I bought from best buy because with Gamer Club membership you get double points.

780 GB of free storage upon bootup!

Let me start off by saying that I have two other Xbox ones that I love and use just about everyday. I was extremely excited to purchase this new Halo 5 edition as a replacement for one of my 500 GB systems. The console's design is great and even the packaging was superb. My disappointment came when I booted it up and noticed that the console only had 780 GBs of free storage. That's 220 GBs that are already gone from the advertised 1 TB! With nothing installed, at all! I initially figured the game was probably pre-loaded then. Check that, nope! You still have to download that as well. Very disappointing, enough so that I'm just gonna go ahead and return it. That 780 GB will get even smaller once the new update comes in November. For $500, that's just a bit too much to accept in my opinion. If this is your first console. I would still get it, but not as a replacement for an existing one. I was really excited to add this to my entertainment center but I guess that's not gonna happen.

The game package came with a "game" that you have to download from the internet !!!!! 1) it will use up space when you have to download from the internet 2) I don't have high speed internet, I have satellite internet, which is not very fast !!!! And a limited number of usage on the satellite 3) I gave $500 for this game set, it should either already have the game installed on it, or better yet, have a cd for it, so, you can take the game to a friends house for play !!! Had I known I had to download the game, I would have gotten the cheaper version, and brought the game, itself !!! Now, my son cant play his game until he gets all the "UPDATES AND DOWNLOAD" the game on HIGH SPEED INTERNET !!!! No, I didn't read the box, because he's the one who wanted it in the first place, and that's why I got it !!!! Plus he like the Hallo XBOX, version, the way it looked !!! I really wished it came with the game on a cd, so, my son could be enjoying his Christmas present !!!!

Ordered this console for my BF who is a huge halo fan. He loved it. The console is cool looking, sleek and QUIET theres no sound of fans or anything. The console responds quickly to requests and is really nice. All the extras were packed nicely and securely. Do note that the figurine requires tools to cut out and assemble. The bundle does come with a headset and 14-day gold trial (which will allow you to download the game and extras). The controller is sleek and feels great to handle. Really a nice console and a great gift for any halo fan. Just note that this comes with the digital version of the game and microsoft no longer offers the promotion to exchange the digital game for a physical copy. So if you want a physical copy you may be out of of luck here

I bought this for my husband for his birthday because developers are no longer making new games for his XBox 360 (which still works great). Unfortunately, everything has to be downloaded before it can be played, which does not work well when you live way out in the country and have to rely on satellite internet. He hasn't been able to play a single game. The advertisements say it can be played offline, and that may be true. But what they don't tell you is that you have to download everything before you play it, and downloading takes forever and eats up bandwidth. Misleading advertising, slow download because the files are huge, and major frustration make this a loser for us. Do not waste your money if you don't have high-speed broadband internet access.

Bought this as a bundle in late Oct 2015 shortly after it came out. The primary users are myself and my 12 yr old boy. We bought this console exclusively to play video games and we use Apple TV for everything else. The console is very responsive, well built, and the games are fantastic. The only complain is that Microsoft makes things very busy and confusing when maneuvering between video games and other functions (movies, etc). Definitely an adjustment after owning a PS3 from a more streamlined and simple navigation system. The console could be smaller for what it does and also generates heat. Overall, looks and works great. Recent update for playing Xbox 360 games are a pluch since these games are a lot cheaper. We are happy with the online gaming functionality but could be cheaper for what you get.

Well worth the $500 once you break down the price

Yeah, this is $500 (more than the current Xbox Ones out) but you have to look at it this way, the Xbox is ($400), and it comes with the limited edition version of Halo 5 ($100) and also the Guardian Statue, and other little extras. So it's the same as buying a Xbox One and the game separately, only this one looks WAY cooler. Only thing I wish is the Chief version of the controller came with it too, but either way this is an awesome deal for Halo fans, or people that just want an Xbox One with an amazing game.

They pull you back in... As a guy in his late 20s, I thought I might let this generation of consoles pass me by and be done with gaming. Hardly use my last gen consoles for gaming anymore. Add the insane price for software and the little available space on a 500GB system and I couldnt justify the cost. However this seemed like a worthy purchase with 1TB of space, $100 game included and a great looking shell. Hoping Halo 5 is as entertaining as it looks. Will miss having friends on the couch playing split screen but can understand why this feature was left out.

I've owned the PS4 since it dropped. I got this system specifically for this game and this specific console thinking you got something, you know, extra. Sure, special controller (that you can buy anywhere), special case, ok, looks different. Plays a 3 second tune when you turn it on...disappointed, thought there would have been a bit more to this part. 1tb drive! But why the old, slower one? Why not the new one they've been using? Why a digital download that you couldn't use before official release. Its slower than the PS4. Going thru menus is painful, its 'quick' startup isn't, PS4 is almost instant. Just a huge disappointment You are better off buying the Forza 6 Edition then buying Halo 5, you save a lot of cash that way

I feel that the xbox is a great system but they need to change how fast a game downloads it takes about 30-45 min to have a game download it seems. Also when I tried to Connect to xbox live it would give me a error message saying I couldn't sign in,it took about 30 min at one point after I did a hard reset. My remote started to stick also. I honestly feel it could be a better game system. The interface is so much different and a little complicated. But I did play call of duty black ops 3 after my delay. I returned the original xbox halo limited edition that I bought and I just decided to get a exchange for a new one instead. I hooked the new xbox I exchanged and so far so good working smooth.

I've been waiting for a special exclusive Xbox One for the Halo series and Microsoft has finally delivered. With a one terabyte hard-drive, a beautiful external design with matching wireless controller, and a digital copy of Halo 5 included with a 14 day trial of Xbox Live Gold.. what else are you wanting for? I'm happy with my new and first Xbox One. Pro: - External design equals awesome - One terabyte hard-drive (Other bundles have a 1TB HD) - Halo 5: Guardians Limited Edition Con: - Overall price - No Kinect Sensor (Would not hurt to have one at this price)

Bought it when they were rolling out the bundles before Christmas, came with Halo (installed in its 1 TB hard drive), an extra game (blacks ops 3 obviously, why get any other game?), and an extra controller (Chose master chief edition). Looks amazing and it sounds great when you turn on the Xbox manually. Completely happy with my purchase since it was a part of a set of Christmas gifts to myself. Anyhow, I've enjoyed my Xbox immensely since I've bought it, and the only missing is the kinect, which would've been nice if it came along with the bundle. No problem though, I will purchase it separately, since it makes a difference in overall enjoyment.

With all the choices of console variations to choose from, this one looks the best to me. The power-on/off sound and the disc eject sound is a bit much, but otherwise the console itself is great. I love having the 1TB of internal storage. As a casual gamer, I don't worry about filling that up anytime soon. On top of this, the console comes with a great looking controller with a standard headset port, and it comes with a digital copy of Halo 5 with a few digital add-ons. Streaming from this console to my Windows 10 machines is really nice too. I can plug in an Xbox 360/One controller into my machine and stream my Xbox games directly to me.

The cd/dvd drive stopped working in less than 4 months, after I bought this combo back in December 2015. Their games are ok, no complaints there. I do not like that on every screen their are ads you cannot remove/delete from the page! Thank god I bought the extended warranty from Best Buy/Geek Squad. It's still under manufacturer warranty, but come on....a $500 unit (that's what I paid) breaks in less than 4 months of use!!!?? I will be returning this unit and all accessories asap, for a PS4. I will never buy another microsoft gaming console and/or game. FYI, the last 2 xbox 360's I got both their cd drives failed too!!

I originally did not want to buy the Xbox One because I didn't like the fact it was not backwards compatible and I have a lot of Xbox 360 games. Then they announced that it was becoming backwards compatible and with the sleek look I knew I had to get the Halo 5 Edition. Not only did it come with a lot of memory space for the avid gamer; my wife loved the fact that it went with our décor. Xbox has always had better games than Playstation, but it seems like their graphics are finally starting to catch up with Playstation. All and all this is a terrific product.
