    Great System, Bad UI

The Xbox One is a great system with a slew of impressive and useful features, like 4K Blu-Ray playback and backwards compatibility (both features lacking in all models of the PS4, if you are comparing the two) with a lot of great Xbox 360 and original Xbox titles, and excellent in-home streaming. There are a lot of great games out there for it, and if you're really into the Xbox exclusives, then this is definitely a great choice, even if you're just looking to play some of your favorite 360 games again. The one thing that I really don't like about the system is the user interface for the Dashboard (AKA your "home screen"). Gosh, it's ugly. Things really seem to be all over the place, and it may take you a while to find what you're looking for. It's too complicated, and needs to be simplified and streamlined, rather than overwhelming users with options for social media and friend comparison around every corner. But with enough use, you'll be able to find your way around. That being said, I've really enjoyed my time using it. It has performed really well, and the feature rich nature of the system keeps me coming back to it. Performance in the games I have played has been excellent, with great performance and visuals in-game. There are plenty of games out there for it, both first party and third party, and with backwards compatibility, you can pick up the great 360 titles you may have missed on the cheap in used games stores to start building your game library. Not all are compatible, though, so be sure to check the backwards compatibility list.

    Parents Beware

Bought this at Christmas, with a few new games Hello Neighbor, Minecraft etc. My kids tried for a week to play these games but they had to upload then after waiting for that it was needs updates, this is something you think will take a few mins, nope it was days and nothing, after 2 weeks they were only able to play one game out of 6 and the games are not cheap, then I find out you need to be on something called Xbox live which you pay 60$ a year for. I don’t want an 8 and 9 year olds playing online at all. Most games won’t work unless you do this. I call the company for advice and they had none to give me. Getting someone on the phone from Microsoft that knows about gaming is a joke. You also have to make email accounts and passcodes and yada Yaddaa AHHHH! What happens to put game in and play it? It should be easier not harder. I will never buy a gaming system again. They use Apps easy tap and play no headaches!

    Great Product, BUT

I read the specifications oaths X-Box and bought it because it had bluetooth capability according to the Best Buy spec's. After getting it home and setup, I found out otherwise. I researched the fact, and found this on the Microsoft website. The Xbox One console does not feature Bluetooth functionality. Headsets cannot connect to the console using Bluetooth." The link:https://support.xbox.com/en-US/xbox-one/accessories/connect-compatible-headset . I consider this a bit of "False Advertising". I'm an Elite plus member, don't write many reviews but, felt this was important. I'm giving it a great review because the system is fantastic and I'll figure something out. Read into it everyone!

    I Prefer the PS4

The graphics are on par and so are the games. My issue with the Xbox One systems is the ridiculous installation and update times. PS4 includes required updates on the game discs but Xbox forces you to connect to the internet to download extremely large files before you can even play. I can play a new PS4 game five minutes after I insert the disc but with the Xbox it takes as long as multiple hours. You are required to have an internet connection even if you do not play games online. I bought the system simply because Forza 7 is the best (arguably) driving game available on any console. There are plenty of issues with Forza's messenger and online system too. Overall, I'm not a huge fan of the Xbox One.

      Hey there,

We're sorry to hear that Xbox One S hasn't quite lived up to expectations. Just to clarify, though -- while Xbox One S does require an internet connection for initial setup, you can then go offline and only need to go back online for game updates or for games with online features. Otherwise, offline games may be enjoyed completely offline. For more information on how to use your Xbox One S offline, go here: https://support.xbox.com/en-US/xbox-one/networking/using-xbox-one-offline

I had an original Xbox One I had pre-ordered and bought when the One's first came out. Still have it. I saw the sale on this one along with the Game Pass and it interested me. I talked to the sales guy and he sold me on the Game Pass portion, so I bought it. The Xbox itself is very good, has double the internal space of my original, is slimmer, and faster in every aspect of my original. Love it. Game Pass, however, is lackluster. The sales guy really oversold it and I feel I got taken for a ride on his embellishment. The machine itself, awesome, must get if you're looking for an Xbox. Game Pass, pass on it.

      Hey there,

Congratulations on making the leap to Xbox One S! And thanks for recommending it to anyone in need of a new Xbox. We're sorry that Xbox Game Pass didn't live up to expectations, though. The service, which offers more than 100 great Xbox games for a low monthly fee, adds new games to its library on a regular basis, so we hope you'll check it out again soon. Until then, we hope you have a lot of fun with your new Xbox One S!

Purchased the unit online, and had it delivered to the house. The remote control would not stay connected to the system even after multiple battery changes. Called and had to return the entire system a 60 mile trip. My wife wound up spending more since they did not have the same system. I opened the box and no power cord. Another 60 mile trip. I returned the whole system and got my money back. Had a bad experience with customer service. I don't recommend best buy. Very disappointed.

I picked this up at the store to use for gaming and also as media center. Performs great , no lag in the UI. All the streaming apps work well on it too like Netflix,Hulu Amazon etc... It will stream for 4k if you have a 4k Tv but will not render the games in 4K. If you are a casual gamer who's budget concious then this is a fair value. You also get 3 months game Pass which is ok but not great.

    Terrible system! Requires constant updates!

    Posted
    XboxBad

Worst of all Xboxes in terms of being user-friendly. It requires updates on all games that I try to use and each update requires no less than 30 minutes to download and usually 45 minutes or longer. Updates mostly are to increase promotional data and advertising additional products that you're not interested in anyway. Xbox has gone way over the limit on intruding on customer convenience. Graphics great, etc., but what a hassle to use!

      Hey there,

We're sorry to hear that you're having difficulties with your Xbox One S. Rest assured, most game updates add features and fix bugs in order to improve the overall game experience. While some games may require major updates, many are relatively small. If you're experiencing unusually long download times, here are some tips that may make upgrades go faster: https://support.xbox.com/en-US/xbox-one/networking/troubleshoot-slow-game-or-app-downloads-on-xbox-one

Xbox has always had great consoles and this one is no exceptions. My only grip is that it took me longer than I care to admit to figure out what the difference between this model and the $500 alternative is (It's basically the processor if you are curious). If you are a casual gamer like I am it's not worth the extra $200. This system is great even without the super charged processor.

Love the Xbox system as a whole. As a PS owner my whole life, I was shocked how much nicer the profile of the controller is. Comes with 3 months of game pass and 3 months of Xbox gold. Nice little starter pack. I don’t have a 4K TV so didn’t spring for the One X. I’d never know it though. The One S is snappy moving from menu to menu and games launch pretty quick too. Love it.

We got this system after waiting several years for the one to go down in price. It has been mostly user friendly with a few hang ups of not recognizing the WiFi or simply not wanting to power up occasionally. It’s working fine at the moment tho, sometimes we just have to do a hard reboot. Graphics are great and it was a great bundle to try out Gold and the game pass.

      Hey there,

We're glad to hear that your new Xbox One S is working well for the most part. A hard reboot will usually fix minor hiccups in performance. If you ever run into an issue that a reboot doesn't solve, your new console comes with a one-year limited warranty. You can reach out to Xbox Support for assistance here: https://support.xbox.com

Not a whole lot different from the first xbox one but its definitely smaller. Too bad it doesn't come in black. If you don't have a 4k tv then this is a great counsel. If you do have a 4k tv then I'd recommend the xbox one x. However the one s is half the price of the one x so if you are looking for something more affordable then the one s is a great choice.

Right out of the box it is very simple to install! Just follow the directions and before you know it you are using the system. Create your online account and start exploring ! I already have three games and it plays without any slow load times. I do recommend buying external storage to avoid using up space. Buy one! and buy the best buy plan!

The XBox1 S console is a nice little investment when you consider what you are getting for the money. You are getting a top of the line media center that is now Kodi friendly (Bonus!). Also, you are getting an up to date gaming system that happens to be the #2 gaming system in the world (in my opinion). Only behind the XBox1 X console. Either XBox1 console will be a smart buy.

Well disappointing to me, had to update software before it can be used 1GB update, the negative every game I played needed to be updated like 30 GB for the game to work! I expected to just pop the game in and play , also colors were less than impressive, this new XBox was incredible slow like a old hard drive expected more from a new ideam , retuned was so disappointing

You know all those problems you were having connecting your headset, downloading certain items, etc...well the new Xbox fixes all of those issues seamlessly. I chose not to go with the one X because there are not enough 4k games to justify paying twice as much. Besides, when that day dies come...the one X will be old news!

Great improvements over the original Xbox ones. Smaller form factor makes it easy to fit in tight spaces . The power cable isn’t a huge brick with two pieces just a small wire which is much better. Definitely quieter than the original Xbox and works faster and plays better quality Blu-ray Discs. Worth the money
