The 4K is good, you can really see a difference, and the 2TB hard drive is a good thing to have. A little pricey, but worth the extra cash if you got it. Considering its a 4K Bluray player along with the 2TB hard drive you really are getting your money's worth.

This should have been the console Microsoft launched with. I have been waiting for over a year to get some 4k content onto my new television, and the Xbox finally made it happen! The 2 terabytes leaves plenty of room for purchased games, and the power brick is at last built in. Who wants to wait a year when this amazing console is here NOW!! The ability to play 4k and game is worth the price alone. Great Job!!!

I picked up the 2 TB Xbox One S on launch day. I had an original Xbox One which was big and bulky but hey it set inside my entertainment center so who cares right. After deciding to get the Xbox One S due to the purchase of a new 4 TV this thing looks a lot better and not have to hear the fan on the power brick for the original Xbox One I'm so happy. Does it do anything vastly different from the original not really if you don't have a 4K TV, but if you do there are some advantages, like 4K blu-ray playback with HDR, upscaling everything to 4K resolution, and a very (I mean VERY) slight increase to the GPU power. Digital Foundry (which can be found on Youtube) said it was an 11% increase in performance which will be used for HDR gaming. The first title will be Forza Horizon 3 and the new Gear of War 4. So, yea if you have a 4K TV and want to watch 4K blu-rays I say pick it up.

I bought this for my adult son for his birthday. His Xbox 360 finally crashed so it was an easy birthday present to come up with. I visited him and he was playing one of his new games and he loves the Xbox. I have my own Guardian Xbox One and my youngest son has his own Xbox One. As you can tell, Xbox is our favorite playing console. I don't want my Guardian Xbox to die but I sure do like the look of the Slim Xbox One and my son feels it is faster. He also got the 2 terabyte one and extra battery charger (who wants playing time interrupted).

I decided to buy an Xbox One S even though I had a perfectly-fine Xbox One. The 4K Blu-ray player, 4K video streaming of Netflix, Amazon Instant and others, the improved (Bluetooth-compatible) controller, slicker and slimmer form factor, HDR support and the 2TB hard drive were all great selling points. It seems like a solidly better value than the PS4 Slim, and approaching the PS4 Pro in value. The PS4 Pro costs $100 more and can't play 4K Blu-ray discs, even though Sony is the one who owns the Blu-ray patents (idiotic). I haven't decided if I'll get the next box from Microsoft (Project Scorpio) when it comes out for Holidays 2017, but I have no regrets about this upgrade.

Cons:
Old Kinect One won't work without an adapter
Free Space is less than 1.5TB out of the box
White does get really dirty
Includes no free games
Price is high if compared to the old version of xbox one
4K output may flash a lot, depending on the tv used. Still kinky.
Dashboard responds really slow, it takes more than 5 seconds to open the friend list.
Pros:
Smaller version of Xbox One so far
Does not require an external power supply
Plenty of space for installing games
Supports HDMI 2.0 and 4K display
It is faster than old xbox one
For a short period of time, if you had an xbox one and a kinect registered in your account, you can get the adapter free to use the adapter with this version.
All in all a good system, but do not go expecting too much out of it. If you have an Xbox one already and you have no need for 4k there is no need to get this console.

I already had an Elite Xbox One and honestly was on the fence about buying the S model because of Microsoft announcing Scorpio to arrive sometime next year. It all came down to wanting my 4K tv to live up to it's potential so I decided to give it a shot. When I finally got it home and hooked it up, I was amazed on how good the 4k was. Even my wife noticed the difference. The interface experience was just the same and it was a nice refresh considering how much smaller it was compared to the older model. I was not able to try the HDR functionality because unfortunately my TV did not support it , but picture quality was still top notch. Now, if you are considering to buy this I would greatly consider a couple of things. Do you have a 4K tv and does it have HDR? And how valuable are those things for you? Because like I previously stated there is a new Xbox coming out later next year that is more powerful than this one. For me, honestly, it came down to wanting the higher picture resolution to watch netflix and UHD blu rays. This is not considerably a huge upgrade, but if you have extra money and want what it offers, by all means go for it.

So far I'm really happy with my purchase of the New Xbox One s . I can from PlayStation which was great also I was just looking for something new I guess. The new smaller design is really nice, a lot better then the older bigger Xbox one with that Big power brick going on. I really enjoy the extrs memory as well holds a tone of games on it so I'm all good there. The overall look is nice the stand is cool if you need it. So far no complaints from me , wish it cane with a game but that's cool just bought one lol. Good buy want be dissapointed for sure.

Tired of waiting for competition to come out with True 4K players to challenge the mid-priced market, so I looked into this unit. HDR DVD's won't pass that technology to 4K displays that do not have the 10-bit HDR technology (most, if not all, 2015 or earlier TV's). My Sony XBR is compatible, but it's only an 8-Bit unit. So therein lies the problem if you want to buy HDR 4K DVD's and have the technology pass into pre-2016 TV's. I will update this as I delve more deeply into the gaming and DVD aspects of this S unit. Sharp looking, smaller footprint and no external power brick are the strong points of this unit.

I already have had an Xbox one since release but i recently got a 4k tv just so i could get the slim with 2tb of storage! The design is simplistic but very modern and it takes up way less space than the previous Xbox. The added power to the console is somewhat noticeable in day to day use but where it shines is with UHD blu rays. Watching the Revenant or Batman V Superman is just awesome on this.
This is the cheapest 4k blu ray player you can find and it plays full on games, what more could you ask for?!?!

I wasn't originally planning or purchasing this as an existing Xbox One owner but the console won me over. It is super slick and easy on the eyes. Everything is more refined from the OS itself to the updated controller. Some Games perform a little better as well and a 4K UHD bluray player is included. (major plus for me since Sony does not include one in their player)
Bottom line if you have a 4k tv this is a no brainer. If you don't already own an xbox one, this is also a no brainer.

I bought this knowing it would have the 2TB hard drive, which was a limited item. I love the larger drive. The white looks great. The new bluetooth-compatible controller is a welcome addition. The lack of a power brick is AWESOME! This isn't a bundle, so no games came with it. But I'll take the larger hard drive over a bundle (I already have tons of games).
If you want cheaper, get one of the original Xbox One's with a bundle. It's still an awesome device.

First, let me say this is my third Xbox One. (I've had a dozen or so consoles in my lifetime) I had the 500gb Xbox One and sold it when the 1tb Elite model came out. So rather than reviewing the Xbox One in general, I will compare this model to the other two that I have had.
Pros:
- Smaller (obviously).
- Can stand up vertically making it more versatile.
- Internal power supply (finally no power brick)
- Updated controller with more range.
- 2TB of storage is nice for larger game libraries.
- Design looks cool.
Cons:
- Console feels a little cheap. Plastic and power button feel a little flimsy.
- Controller also feels cheaper. Almost too light.
- No hybrid drive (Elite only).
- No games included with this particular SKU.
- There's a new Xbox console coming in 2017.
If comparing this to the cheapest Xbox One, there are enough reasons to choose the S model. In my opinion, it should replace the standard model. I just wish it didn't feel like they skimped on materials. And don't let the 2TB storage trick you into spending more for this. You can always add more storage if you need it with an external USB drive, which might even improve read/write speeds if you have the right drive.
I was going to sell my Elite model and replace it with the S, but after checking this out, I changed my mind. The hybrid drive in the Elite does speed things up a bit and 1TB is enough for most people, but it is also (currently) $100 more. It does come with the awesome Elite controller though. Personally, if I were buying my first Xbox One, I'd probably go with the Madden 17 model as I think you get a better value overall.
If you're comparing to PS4, I'd have to say the one benefit of the PS4 is it's a little more stable, and feels more like a stripped down gaming-first experience. The Xbox One does tend to freeze sometimes - Not a lot, but I don't have that issue with my PS4 at all. I prefer the feel of the Xbox One controller and I like the Xbox Live community better than PSN. There are not a lot of exclusive titles to worry about anymore so just pick what you like the feel of.

I was about to purchase a 4K player when I found out that Microsoft was releasing the One S. This is priced almost the same as the Samsung 4K player but can do so much more! It looks nice and fits much better since it is smaller. I am a little upset that it only comes in white (unless you pay extra for the Gears of War edition) AND the biggest thing is they removed the Kinect port from the system but don't advertise it anywhere. The only way you can use Kinect is with an adapter which you can only get by calling Xbox support and opening a ticket. If you owned an Xbox One before the One S you get the adapter for free (7 - 10 business days after you call) but if not you must purchase this accessory separately (not available for purchase anywhere yet...). It seemed a little strange considering Xbox brags about Kinect so much just to cut it off like that especially with the release of Cortana. They say you can use Cortana with headsets but how can you voice command Cortana with a headset that is connected to a controller that is turned off? If you turn the controller on then you already can do everything Cortana can do... Plus side is the system has built in IR so you can still control all your devices without Kinect or the IR blaster.

I had an Elite console before this but it was time to upgrade because I bought a 4K TV with HDR10 capabilities. Overall it's a great console with slight performance increases from the bigger and older Xbox One but those differences are minimal and only on games without a locked frame rate. With that said, if you're in the market for an Xbox One and you either just got a 4K TV and are upgrading or just buying your first Xbox, this is worth it. However, there is no reason to dump the original system if you're using a 1080p TV. At that point, if you're a big gamer, wait for Project Scorpio which I myself can't wait for.
