It's smaller and NO MORE EXTERNAL POWER ADAPTER. And, it has 2TB of internal storage. Those two items make it well worth the price. The 4K video is really nice too. I like it a lot. Although, i will say, my first one froze at loading and updating after the 3rd day, so and i had to return it to get a new one. But i've had it for a couple months now with no issues. It is definitely better than the first one. Still trying to get used to the case being white, but it is growing on me. :) You don't see the dust or scratches anymore that the old case would show so easily.

It looks amazing.. Not having the power box is a huge plus.. I simply bought it because I had the money to but knew I'd be investing in 4K/ultra HD shortly. Gears of war 4 will prove if it was worth it or not.. Either way, it looks REAL nice if you care about those kinds of things. Home screen and everything else is normal. Just like to upgrade my toys so I did! Happy gaming !!!

Let me just says that I have been a Xbox One Day One owner and liked the Xbox One since I got it. This new Xbox One is improved in every way that was seen as a short coming. Speed, Power, and more GB. If you are in the market for a new system, the Xbox One has finally passed the PS4. It is even better than the newer Pro's they announced. If you are thinking of getting the system I'd recommend pay the extra and get the 2TB or the 1TB at minimum. You will regret it if you get the 500GB. In less than a year you will use up the space installing a few games.

After hearing of the upsacaling of all games, plus the HDR. I had to check out the Xbox One S, and after having it for about a month now. I can say it is amazing. It is a clear difference, everything just looks better. Of course you have to have a 4K HDR TV, even if you don't it still will bring the best out of your older TV. I compared my old Xbox to this one, and the difference is definitely noticeable. If you really want the full effect though invest in a good 4K HDR TV, and I promise you won't regret it. Xbox is still the best Consol Hands down.

I love the new Xbox slim. It comes with new features (4k blu-ray and streaming, new controller, new buttons) and is a very nice size, however the upgrades are not worth it if you already own an Xbox one. If you do not own a Xbox one, I recommend this over the original any day!

The New XBOX One S is a great improvement over the orginal XBOX One. Microsoft reduced the size o the console by 40% and gave it a great case redesign reminiscent of the white XBOX 360. Best of all, the external power supply is not integrated into the XBOX One S console (no more external power brick!). The buttons are now tactile and have a very satisfying sound when press (power button, sync controller button and eject button). The side USB 3.0 port in the Original XBOX One is now relocated to the front of the console for easy accessibility. The new tactile buttons are great: you will not be accidentally turning this console on or off like with the original XBOX One. The new XBOX One S can also be setup vertically (unlike the old one). The 2TB version includes the vertical stand for it (the 1TB version and 500GB version will not include it and will be sold separately for $19.99. In the back of the XBOX One S you have your usual connections: HDMI in (for TV), HDMI 2.0 out (for 4K gaming at 60hz), 2 USB 3.0 ports, one optical port, ethernet gigabit port, IR out extender (to control other IR devices from the console), Kensington lock and the 2-prong power connector. Long gone is the Kinect port (a sign that microsoft is axing this useless peripheral). However, if you are upgrading from the original XBOX One with Kinect, Microsoft will send you a free USB Kinect Adapter so you can continue to use yours with the One S (really handy for voice command with Cortana now). I ordered mine from microsoft the same day I got the XBOX One S and Microsoft shipped it out to me within 2 days! Just make sure your old XBOX One and Kinect adapter are registered to your Microsoft/XBOX account as well as your new XBOX One S. 4K features are great! Games are upscaled to 4k nicely and 4K streaming and UHD movies look absolutely STUNNING! Make sure to have a 4K capable TV or 4K gaming monitor. I use my XBOX One S on my new LG 27UD68. I get all the features supported by the console in 4K (minus HDR10 support - for that you'll need to shell out more money on either a tv or monitor). When looking for a 4K tv or monitor just ensure it has HDMI 2.0 otherwise the XBOX one will not render in 4K but rather 1080P. Additionally, the GPU in the XBOX One S has been clocked a little higher than the original XBOX One and some games with problematic framerates can see a 10% boost in gameplay. The new controller is almost the same as the original XBOX One controller except that now you have a texture on the grips (to prevent slipping during long gaming sessions), a 3.5mm jack which you can use with your favorite headset for awesome stereo sound. You can also use your headset to run voice commands with Cortana...really AWESOME! The bumper buttons feel much nicer and clickier than older XBOX One controller and the analog joysticks have been adjusted to minimize wear and tear over time. Best of all - Bluetooth 4.0 so you can use your new XBOX One controller with your PC, laptops, tablets, etc. The range is much improved with the addition of bluetooth 4.0 technology. Older peripherals like the chatpad and volume/chat adapter work flawlessly with the new controller! Overall, the XBOX One S is the XBOX One the original should have been. If you have the money to shell out up front, upgrade to this version and then sell the old one. I honestly think this is an upgrade worth considering for current XBOX One owners. And if you don't have an XBOX One, what are you waiting for; don't hesitate and get the XBOX One S for sure!

Ok, so there's no actual 4k games quite yet. But this console does upscale existing 1080p titles and they do in fact look sharper and more colorful overall. Plus over HDMI 2.0a the console is capable of detecting more of the features your set has and enable them accordingly. Overall I've noted my load times and menu choices are a tad quicker than my Xbox One...I would say this is thanks to the SATA3 drive inside. But where this console really shines is in the fact that you're getting a fully capable 4k UHD BDRom player with HDR compatibility. All that at this price-point, plus the ability to game?! Sign me up!! Once Gears and Forza Horizon 3 drop we'll finally get to enjoy the 4k joy in our games on the couch!! :)

    Great 4K BluRay Player

This is my first Xbox, being primarily a Playstation loyalist. I bought the Halo MC collection with the console and generally am very happy with the purchase. The Xbox GUI took some getting used to but it has now become intuitive. I wouldn't say the Xbox One is superior to the PS4, it's simply different. Obviously the ability to play 4K BluRay is a huge advantage and really the only reason I bought the console. I've watched a few 4K movies and the quality is incredible. It's a great console and if interested in a 4K video player, why not buy this? The controller is great, the exclusive games are awesome (have played them with friends for years), and the price is the same as plain 4K BluRay players.

Although I had a Day One Xbox One, and never really had any complaints about it, it's clear that this is a better device. It's smaller and it has an integrated power supply. I'm not at 4K yet, but I will be, and this will lead the way. The only downside is that if you use Kinect (eg for voice command of media), you need the Windows/XB1S adapter, which is more cabling and is kind of annoying to have to deal with.

First off the bat this console up scales every thing making it a truly valuable peace of hardware for owners of a 4k tv. The Xbox one s also features HDR support for gaming and video content so you can watch true native 4k Blu-ray discs and be getting the best picture possible. would recommend going with the 2tb if you have more than 10 games then any thing smaller with fill up fast. Excellent peace of hardware Microsoft setting the bar again - Best Buy Employee.

Nice upgrade from the current Xbox One greater storage inside and textured grip on the controller which has a headphone jack built into the controller. Power supply is now internal good if it doesn't need replacing, not so good if it fails as often as the externals used to. Now capable of 4K output and streaming from your favorite sources as well as playing 4K DVDs. If Kinnect is important you will need an adapter to use an Xbox One Kinnect available free to early upgraders, $39 add on otherwise. Unit is compact and quiet, takes up much less real estate compared to the earlier model. If you can wait for the Scorpio model with even better graphics processor due out soon, I would hold out.

I purchased both xbox one systems, big and small and I have to give it to the Xbox one s. No more power brick, it has HDR, can get up to 2 tb of storage so you can have alot of games installed on your system without having to delete some when you run out of storage. Its well worth it in my opinion.
