Much smaller then original xbox one
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Bought this so now I can watch 4k content. Plus I wanted the smaller xbox! So far so good! I keep winning in halo! lol if you have a 4k tv and you enjoy gaming its a better route then buying a 4k player. Only downside is I will have to move it to my 65 to watch movies as soon as I start building my collection.

Nice video game console
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I've waited for a long time to upgrade my video game console and I am very pleased with my selection. This console is thin & doesn't take much space. Simple yet very functional. My video gaming experience has gone to a new level and. I am enjoying every moment of it.

great product
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. My only complaint about this model is 500GB is way too small. I would go with 1TB minimum. If you can spring for the 2 TB go for it. I've generally been a PlayStation user, right up through the PS3. I decided I would initially skip the PS4 and Xbox one until they showed longevity and got upgraded. I have also, typically bought Xbox machines at the end of their cycle, and I have always liked them. Xbox also seems to start slow and build when they release new machines vs the PlayStation. So I waited to see the new versions of each machine, and went with the Xbox One S over the PS4 Slim. Once again Xbox started off slow, but in these upgrade versions I think it has taken the lead in architecture, Hard Drive Space, and Price. Compared with the original Xbox One, we have a few key differences. Most good, some would say not all good, but as far as the "Cons" go, none of them mean that much to me. However, I have listed them for those who might care. They are as follows: Pros vs. Original Xbox One: 1) 40% smaller! And yes, the difference is very noticeable (see my comparison pictures) 2) 4K output. Not as big of a deal to most people as 4K adoption is not huge yet, and it's only really for video/Blu-ray (games are up scaled) but I have a 4K TV, so why not get ahead of the curve for once (PS4 Slim does not offer this). 3) The side USB port has been moved from the left side to the front, which is great for space saving 4) No gloss finish. As always, glossy finishes look great on day one but do not age well (easily scuffed and scratched). 5) Built-in power supply. 6) Hardware upgrade. In addition to the 4K hardware upgrade (HDMI 1.4 vs HDMI 2.0), there is more processing power available for HDR. 7) Higher capacity. You can now choose from models ranging from 500GB to 2TB. The extra internal space of the 2TB version was a huge selling point to upgrade. 8) The new Xbox One controller with Bluetooth, 3.5 mm Headphone jack built in, and new textured handles. Current Xbox users seem more excited about the controller than anything else! Cons vs. Original Xbox One (Again, I personally couldn't care less.) 1) As of launch, only available in white. I think it looks slick. 2) No elite version for the real game geeks. 3) Does not offer any option of a bundled Kinect, though it has been clear for awhile that Kinect support has been dwindling, and I find these motion sensors to be gimmicks (Go outside or to a gym. Meet someone Jeez!). 4) Does not include a headset, not even a cheapy earbud-style one. The one thing I do care about. All in all I think it's a great buy for these systems, and it looks like it will be around for a little while longer.

Big improvement
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. The xbone S is a big step up from the original xbone. The size, speed and looks are much better. Add in a 4k player and what the cost is and its easy to see the value. The controller is much improved as well. Will I upgrade to scorpio when it comes out? Yes but I plan on keeping my xbone S for my bedroom.

Best System By Far
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. The Xbox One S console totally makes the other's pale in comparison. It's no longer the size of your grandmother's VCR which makes taking it from place to place a breeze. The games both old & new look AMAZING & the graphics rock. I bought this online & it came on time in perfect condition. I did purchase the protection plan because this wasn't an inexpensive item but Best Buy did give me a price that was easily $50.00 less than ever other retailer & they have a price match guarantee. Everything about this system is worth every penny. If I had one complaint it would be that I need to be online to use the live features & the blu ray but it's not a big enough deal to even be a concern. I am satisfied with the Xbox One S & Best Buy in a big way. Definitely would recommend this to a friend, family, a neighbor...an anyone...It's so worth it!

Pros and Cons vs. The Original Xbox One,
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Today is a day I have waited a long time for, the day my Xbox One is no longer the size of a VCR from 1989. Compared with the original Xbox One, we have a few key differences. Most good, but not all. Pros vs. Original Xbox One: [+] 40% smaller! And yes, the difference is very noticeable [+] 4K output. Not as big of a deal to most people as 4K adoption is not huge yet, and it's only really for video/Blu-ray (games are upscaled) [+] The side USB port has been moved from the left side to the front, which is great for space saving (if another device is to the left) and less damaging if someone trips over the USB cable. [+] No gloss finish. They did get rid of the gloss in a minor pre-S refresh, but I'm happy to see it is completely gone. As always, glossy finishes look great on day one but do NOT age well (easily scuffed and scratched). [+] Built-in power supply. To me, this is HUGE (reverse pun intended). The old power supply added an unreasonable amount of heft to the already oversized console. It is especially great if you like to pack and travel with your Xbox since that's one less brick to carry around, and makes it much easier and cheaper to have spare 'travel' power cables so you don't have to remove your main cables when traveling. [+] Hardware upgrade. In addition to the 4K hardware upgrade (HDMI 1.4 vs HDMI 2.0), there is more processing power available for HDR, though to be honest I'm not sure how much I care about that. The real hardware upgrade won't be until Project Scorpio in 2017. [*] Higher capacity. You can now choose from models ranging from 500GB to 2TB! I definitely recommend no less than 1TB considering how quickly these games eat up hard drive space. I'm not a fan of cluttering up my area with external USB hard drives, so the extra internal space of the 2TB version was a huge selling point to upgrade. Cons vs. Original Xbox One: [-] As of launch, only available in white. Don't get me wrong, the white looks beautiful, but you can't go wrong with additional color choices. In my case, white matching NOTHING else in my home theater setup, so I would have preferred to stick with black. I'm sure that will come soon though. [-] No elite version (yet), which means no hybrid SSD available for faster load times. Elite controller still works great though. [-] Does not offer any option of a bundled Kinect, though it has been clear for awhile that Kinect support has been dwindling. [-] Does not include a headset, not even a cheapy earbud-style one. [-] Kinect users *raises own hand* effectively lost a USB port. They removed the Kinect-specific port, so now you'll have to use up one of the two rear USB ports to get your Kinect on. This also raises the issue of the console not including a Kinect-to-USB adapter, which just adds extra hassle to get your Kinect Kinected again. PSA regarding Kinectability mentioned above: For a limited time, you can get a free Kinect-to-USB adapter by contacting Xbox Support and providing your serial numbers. *Is it worth upgrading my Xbox One?* There is not a one-size-fits all answer to this. For me, it was a yes, as I was replacing a secondary Xbox One and I wanted the 2TB and smaller footprint. My Elite is still my main console, which I'm not ready to replace with the S due to the hybrid SSD and color. For most people, I would bet the answer is no. If money is a concern, it's probably no. If you don't 4K game or need the extra terabyte, it's probably no. If you're just a tech geek like me and always need the latest stuffs and thingies, then go for it! Ultimately, I'm still much more eagerly awaiting the full Scorpio hardware update, but the Xbox One S was a long overdue refresh. If nothing else, it at least leaves the Xbox One no longer as a beastly, oversized, whalephant, VCR, gargantuan, monolithic mass of plastic as its prior version was.

Definitely worth the upgrade from a 360
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Fast, slim, and modern. Definitely a worthy upgrade from a 360 to XBox One S. Was wondering if I should get the One instead, saving $50 but definitely made the right choice by going with the S. Don't have to worry about the power brick and it's so much easier for carrying around in a bag. Controllers are really good, not too different from the traditional ones, but Bluetooth is definitely a plus. Overall, really good buy.

Good first update
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Smaller profile is nice, no brick is outstanding. Bought as a replacement for my kid's Xbox 360 which had died on us. It's only hooked up to a 720p TV, so no benefits to having the 4K or HDR. But it's an Xbox One with upgraded power features, so it's smoother than my Day One edition, and quieter. My kid mostly plays Assassin's Creed on it and watches Netflix, has been doing what I wanted with no issues so far.

Great for game play and as a 4K movie player
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Love the clean, simple design of the Xbox one S. It takes up very little space. Was a little annoyed we had to download a separate app just to be able to play 4K movies through the system. Also wish you didn't have to be connected to the internet in order to play a game you have a hardcopy of. The graphics and picture are great. Battery life on the controllers is also impressive. We probably would have upgraded to the 1 terabyte had we realized how quickly the internal storage is used up. That can be remedied with use of an external hard drive though.

Great Upgrade from Original Xbox One
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Xbox One S is better in every way, from design to the 4k capabilities including blu ray / HDR to the refined bluetooth controller. The actual system is smaller, sleeker, and has better disk eject button and usb placement. If you have an original xbox one and are thinking of upgrading, it is worth it, if you have a 4k tv.

Great Upgrade from Original
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I got an original Xbox One at launch and absolutely hated it, it was buggy and huge. I purchased the new Xbox One S to play Forza and I have not been let down by it since I purchased it. They have fixed all the issues of the original Xbox One and have made a killer console. Add 4K on top of that, great purchase.

Great Console
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This is my go to console. I have no horse in this race as I love gaming and I own all the consoles.I don't like being on the outside looking in. When a game comes out I want to play, then I need to own them all to be sure I can play that game. That being said I always seem to turn on my One more than the others. And with this revision of the One console they seemed to have gotten it right. The size, the look, the power source now located within the unit, the updated controller, everything about it is very well done. Looks fantastic on my LG 4K TV and the 4K Blu-rays look perfect too. For the price of a dedicated 4K Blu-ray player you get it all with this console. Always be looking for a sale here as you can get a lower price that includes a extra game. Buy without fear and enjoy it's contents. Be well

Best System By Far
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Wanted this for the longest time & by far it was worth the wait. The graphics are amazing, the size of the system just makes it easy to pick up & take it with you anywhere. Me & my other half are finally having movie dates with the blu ray feature. There's truly been no downside here other than we are still learning all the things it can do but like anything else it's a process but a fun one. Btw, Best Buy had the best price & I also purchased the Geek Squad 2yr protection plan because it's important considering all the use it's getting & why not just be covered & they can & have answered quite a few questions without laughing at me...so kudos to them! Happy overall & it's great to have a system everyone loves for a myriad of reasons.

Fun, Fun, Fun
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. The Game console is slim. The cord no longer has the big box attached to it like the 360 so it was really easy to hide. The 4K is a great feature on the Xbox One S we love it. Its easy to use!

||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I got the console on a black friday deal, having already owned the original xbox one, but once i saw the one s, it had to be mine. Great product, slim, less clunky, 4k availability. Awesome.

Best console, even better
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. The Xbox one is already my favorite of the big three, and the S model improves it in a few noticeable ways. Firstly, it supports 4k and HDR playback which is great because I just got an oled TV. And it's way smaller and lighter than the original with no battery brick so it's easy to maneuver/travel with. If you have an original Xbox one, you can but don't have to upgrade. If not, definitely make the S your first option.

Great Bundle
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I own a Day One XBone, but this was bundled with a 55" Samsung television which I was in the market for so I ended up with another XBone. It pairs great with the television and the picture is amazing. Plus it makes sense if you are a fan of Battlefield 1. The size is considerably smaller than my Day One XBone. It does not however come with a kinect, but if you have an original XBone than I believe Microsoft will give you an adapter for the old one to use with the XBone S. I highly recommend this bundle.
