Customers are saying

Customers have good things to say about the Xbox One S 500GB console's 4K capabilities, graphics, and ease of use. Many appreciate its slim size and the inclusion of an extra controller, along with the picture quality and overall performance. However, some users express concerns regarding the limited storage space and the battery life of the controllers. The relatively small hard drive capacity is a recurring negative comment.

Smaller profile is nice, no brick is outstanding. Bought as a replacement for my kid's Xbox 360 which had died on us. It's only hooked up to a 720p TV, so no benefits to having the 4K or HDR. But it's an Xbox One with upgraded power features, so it's smoother than my Day One edition, and quieter. My kid mostly plays Assassin's Creed on it and watches Netflix, has been doing what I wanted with no issues so far.

Love the clean, simple design of the Xbox one S. It takes up very little space. Was a little annoyed we had to download a separate app just to be able to play 4K movies through the system. Also wish you didn't have to be connected to the internet in order to play a game you have a hardcopy of. The graphics and picture are great. Battery life on the controllers is also impressive. We probably would have upgraded to the 1 terabyte had we realized how quickly the internal storage is used up. That can be remedied with use of an external hard drive though.

Great Upgrade from Original Xbox One

Xbox One S is better in every way, from design to the 4k capabilities including blu ray / HDR to the refined bluetooth controller. The actual system is smaller, sleeker, and has better disk eject button and usb placement. If you have an original xbox one and are thinking of upgrading, it is worth it, if you have a 4k tv.

I got an original Xbox One at launch and absolutely hated it, it was buggy and huge. I purchased the new Xbox One S to play Forza and I have not been let down by it since I purchased it. They have fixed all the issues of the original Xbox One and have made a killer console. Add 4K on top of that, great purchase.

I bought this knowing i had extra storage. But the value is in the 4K playing and upscale. It will also work with HDR if your TV is compatible. I like the bundle with the game as well. Battlefield 1 is one of the most realistic graphic game i have played. It is completely worth the purchase.

New and improved, smaller design. Much better to commute with. No more power brick. Standard power cable same as (PS4). Redesigned controller , its narrow and has a slight textured grip. It's also got Bluetooth to interface with your phone or PC. Great for steam games. 4K blu ray and 4K Netflix . This comes with a digital key for Battlefield 1. This download took over a day with FIOS 50/50 internet on wifi. The console needed a few updates as well as the controller. Plan accordingly if you make this a gift. Otherwise it's gonna be 24-48 before you can play online. Same old GUI interface. Slow laggy. PS4 will always win hands down for just to sit down make a party and play the darn game. Xbox wants to do too much and control your tv and has to many tiles and apps. I do like the white color and smaller design as well as the Bluetooth added to the controller. It's interface is marginally better but it's still indeed an improvement. If you don't need smaller design Bluetooth controller, 4K or don't have a 4K tv wait for the Scorpio which will be 4K gaming @60 fps, (which sounds too good to be true especially when high end multi thousand dollar pcs struggle to output.) We'll see.

This was purchased as a replacement for my teenage daughter's Xbox 360 that was failing. The slim form factor over the original Xbox One is a great improvement, as is no longing having the clunky brick to manage. Seems to be a slight improvement in performance over the original One console, however the aesthetic appearance feels a little cheaper. Gone is the "touch" Xbox One button on the front (this one actually is a depression button). I also prefer the all-black model, it just looks a little sleeker in my opinion. Also haven't had a chance to view the 4K Bluray player since it's in a kids room. Note: Battlefield 1 was a bonus for me since I was already looking to buy the game, so by getting this console on sale for $250 made it feel more like I was buying BF1 for the $60 while only paying $190 for the new Xbox. Win-win if you ask me.

It's a great system! The 4K Blu-ray works wonderfully. However I wish I would have got the one terabyte but I ended up buying a external hard drive anyway.

This is my go to console. I have no horse in this race as I love gaming and I own all the consoles.I don't like being on the outside looking in. When a game comes out I want to play, then I need to own them all to be sure I can play that game. That being said I always seem to turn on my One more than the others. And with this revision of the One console they seemed to have gotten it right. The size, the look, the power source now located within the unit, the updated controller, everything about it is very well done. Looks fantastic on my LG 4K TV and the 4K Blu-rays look perfect too. For the price of a dedicated 4K Blu-ray player you get it all with this console. Always be looking for a sale here as you can get a lower price that includes a extra game. Buy without fear and enjoy it's contents. Be well

We have the older model as well and cant tell much of a difference. Actually this one seems to glitch more but coulf just be the certain game or internet connection. Needless to say obviously we liked this product enough to buy two. We use it for movies/Netflix as well as video games. The memory on this one is easy to fill up.

    Best System By Far

Wanted this for the longest time & by far it was worth the wait. The graphics are amazing, the size of the system just makes it easy to pick up & take it with you anywhere. Me & my other half are finally having movie dates with the blu ray feature. There's truly been no downside here other than we are still learning all the things it can do but like anything else it's a process but a fun one. Btw, Best Buy had the best price & I also purchased the Geek Squad 2yr protection plan because it's important considering all the use it's getting & why not just be covered & they can & have answered quite a few questions without laughing at me...so kudos to them! Happy overall & it's great to have a system everyone loves for a myriad of reasons.

I bought this for my grandson last year and I play with him all the time very cool consul we were thinking about staying with the 360 but this one does it all I'm thinking about getting another one for the living room that way we don't have to move the console around I like that it's simple to use

I've been a long time 360 user so the backward compatibility is a plus. I got battlefield 1 with it as a download. It ate up a lot of hard drive space. Loaf timed are long but I suppose that is a result of the great graphics. I don't have a 4k tv...yet so that us a great feature for the future. Overall pleased with the purchase.

I absolutely love this system. It is 4k nervana. I mostly bought this system because I wanted the 4k blueray player. However after using this system I realised its so much more than that. I love the fact that I can pin my shows to the home screen saves so much time opening the app. I also use the live TV feature and have noticed some major improvement in picture quality when my cable box is hooked up to the Xbox one s. Let's face it cable just isn't cutting it at 1080p when you have a 4k screen. The TV can only upscale so much but the Xbox one s really pushes what I though was possible. I am more than happy with this purchase and am glad to add another system to the man cave.

The Game console is slim. The cord no longer has the big box attached to it like the 360 so it was really easy to hide. The 4K is a great feature on the Xbox One S we love it. Its easy to use!

As a long time PlayStation fan it is hard for me to write this review saying that I've been more impressed with Xbox's new console iteration than anything Sony has put out with the PS4 Pro. Sony's decision to not include a 4K Blu-ray player was my leading cause for looking into purchasing an Xbox One S and I am not disappointed. The Xbox One S boasts a slicker design and gets rid of the bulkiness that plagued the original Xbox One all wall including 4K and HDR gaming and movies. Also if you're trading in your Xbox one for this it helps with the already low price of their bundles. It is after all the cheapest 4K Blu-ray player on the market and it does so much more as well. Games look astounding such as Battlefield 1! As much of a Sony fanboy as I have been I have to say that Microsoft is winning me over at this point in the generation. Sony has some catching up to do. If you're looking for a great console with tons of integrated features and a 4K Blu-ray player there's no choice right now better than the Xbox one S. Good job Microsoft!
