I was tentative about buying this since I already own a PS4, I was afraid I wasn't gonna use it much. That fear has since been eradicated. It's a beautiful machine and in conjunction with an ultra 4k tv it can upscale your games and movies.

I was looking for a second xbox one for my house. I already had the original 1 TB xbox one console, but I wanted a second for my bedroom. I decided to buy the Xbox One S 500GB because I didn't need as much hard drive space in my bedroom as my living room. The Xbox One S looks and feels cheaper than the original Xbox because it has actual buttons on the console that are plastic. I prefer the touch screen style on the original console. I love that the Xbox One S has a built in power supply! I also love the smaller size. It takes up a fraction of the space that the original would. The controller has a textured grip and is lighter than the original. The system is set up the same, but it is noticeably faster than the original console. My games load faster, the apps work faster, my Netflix searches are faster, and the overall picture in the games is better. I would recommend this console instead of the original, but I wouldn't replace the original with it. There just aren't enough major differences to switch. I only bought it as my second console because its a tiny bit better.

Love the clean, simple design of the Xbox one S. It takes up very little space. Was a little annoyed we had to download a separate app just to be able to play 4K movies through the system. Also wish you didn't have to be connected to the internet in order to play a game you have a hardcopy of. The graphics and picture are great. Battery life on the controllers is also impressive. We probably would have upgraded to the 1 terabyte had we realized how quickly the internal storage is used up. That can be remedied with use of an external hard drive though.

New and improved, smaller design. Much better to commute with. No more power brick. Standard power cable same as (PS4). Redesigned controller , its narrow and has a slight textured grip. It's also got Bluetooth to interface with your phone or PC. Great for steam games. 4K blu ray and 4K Netflix . This comes with a digital key for Battlefield 1. This download took over a day with FIOS 50/50 internet on wifi. The console needed a few updates as well as the controller. Plan accordingly if you make this a gift. Otherwise it's gonna be 24-48 before you can play online. Same old GUI interface. Slow laggy. PS4 will always win hands down for just to sit down make a party and play the darn game. Xbox wants to do too much and control your tv and has to many tiles and apps. I do like the white color and smaller design as well as the Bluetooth added to the controller. It's interface is marginally better but it's still indeed an improvement. If you don't need smaller design Bluetooth controller, 4K or don't have a 4K tv wait for the Scorpio which will be 4K gaming @60 fps, (which sounds too good to be true especially when high end multi thousand dollar pcs struggle to output.) We'll see.

It's a great system! The 4K Blu-ray works wonderfully. However I wish I would have got the one terabyte but I ended up buying a external hard drive anyway.

I've been a long time 360 user so the backward compatibility is a plus. I got battlefield 1 with it as a download. It ate up a lot of hard drive space. Loaf timed are long but I suppose that is a result of the great graphics. I don't have a 4k tv...yet so that us a great feature for the future. Overall pleased with the purchase.

As a long time PlayStation fan it is hard for me to write this review saying that I've been more impressed with Xbox's new console iteration than anything Sony has put out with the PS4 Pro. Sony's decision to not include a 4K Blu-ray player was my leading cause for looking into purchasing an Xbox One S and I am not disappointed. The Xbox One S boasts a slicker design and gets rid of the bulkiness that plagued the original Xbox One all wall including 4K and HDR gaming and movies. Also if you're trading in your Xbox one for this it helps with the already low price of their bundles. It is after all the cheapest 4K Blu-ray player on the market and it does so much more as well. Games look astounding such as Battlefield 1! As much of a Sony fanboy as I have been I have to say that Microsoft is winning me over at this point in the generation. Sony has some catching up to do. If you're looking for a great console with tons of integrated features and a 4K Blu-ray player there's no choice right now better than the Xbox one S. Good job Microsoft!

I personally love the console itself, however there aren’t as many enjoyable games for Xbox as there is for the PlayStation 4 in my opinion. On the other hand, the controller is very ergonomic and it’s so nice to use, I just personally don’t prefer this console. But it’s great either way!!

Not bad for the price. Bought primarily for the 4k player. Had a lot of issues when I first purchased. Trouble playing several 4k movies as well as audio issues. Updates seem to have remedied most of this issues however. I would recommend a separate dedicated 4k player.

So I would assume most people reviewing this would want know if they should buy this over a playstation or they just bought it checking reviews. Either way I honestly can say I don't have that answer for you. There is a few things I want to explain to cover how this purchase will effect you. First if you are buying it for yourself. Make sure you have the patience and the knowledge to get things running. Apps took me a minute download and operate. The biggest problem I have with this is its very hard. I hook up a lot of things in my house and have a lot of electronics. And this is pretty difficult to navigate. Personally I should see if there is a remote for things like getting out of apps or simply getting back to downloading. I had to google everything. And the back button didn't always bring me back to the home screen. The games are super heavy in memory. 47 gigs for the battlefied that came with it. And 47 gigs downloading takes a very long time. Even getting my blu ray on I needed to download an app. And another thing about the apps, i wish you could add what apps you want to be honest. I want my Id channel app, i could use an oxygen channel app and so on. People are trying to steer away from cable so all the TV apps they can get they should put it on here. With that said things I do like. I like the game when I played it. Didn't last but for 30 seconds but my last video game system was a playstation 3 and I wasn't great at that either. So i'm not used to the xbox controls. I think they should include a tutorial on this system. Explaining exactly how you get out of some screens. My roommate has an xbox 360 and I know she is probably jealous cause I don't even use my xbox 1 s. It plays 4k and I got it cause I haven't been in gaming for a while. But i have a external blu ray writer for my computer with a graphics card, so I mostly spend time on that. I don't even use it for the blu ray. And I have an apple tv which works great. If you have a streaming device and you have simply a blu ray players are you don't really care to play 4k then this system probably wont do anything for you unless you are gamer which I am not. If they wanted some advice, add more apps. Ones that separate the xbox from others. And make the controls a lot easier or teach people. I have a 55 inch samsung tv so it does look good when I play it. And when I get a new 4k tv i might get more use out it. But right now it just collects dust until I decide to get involved in games. Cause its not user friendly.

I was in the market to upgrade top the latest game console. I had a great experience with my Xbox 360 and it was a natural choice to upgrade to an Xbox One. The graphics are amazingly crisp, great picture, and great sound. the UI takes some time getting used to, but easy to navigate. The only minor cons are Battlefield one takes a while to download, and every now and then my controller disconnects for no reason (I changed out the batteries already). Overall, another great product by Microsoft.

I had decided to buy this item when i seen there was a special that was being run in the store, getting the unit and game is a great deal. Having the 4k option is also a plus. I would advise that this is the 500 gig model and that 500 can be used very quickly, after updates your given a little over 350 gigs of usable space in my case. After a downloading a few games the space can be used very quickly. Other then that it has been a great purchase and very entertaining.

Nothing bad to say about this new generation in the Xbox. The 4K is amazing with what's available in 4K but you need a 4K tv to use it to its full potential. Easy set up and great not just for games but movies are mostly what I use it for. Highly recommend picking one up if going from an older generation Xbox. It takes some getting use to with all the new tricks bells and whistles but a lot of fun to use.

So far I'm loving the XBox One. The graphics are fantastic and it has a great selection of games and apps. File sizes are huge, so don't expect the 500GB HD to last long. My one complaint, is that if you connect your cable box to the XBox, you have to have the XBox on to watch TV. Not the end of the world, but seems like an oversight in design.
