Great Xbox, came as part of deal with Samsung television. The style of this thing is beautiful, it looks classy with its elegant white design. Happy this can also play 4k discs too! 500 Gb drive is plenty, though if you have more than 5 games you want to store solely on the Xbox (no disc), then go for the TB drive

Look, it's not insanely more capable than the original. It's not noticeably quicker or more powerful in game. Let us get that out of the way. When you realize that, I think you'll be happy with this new version. It is much smaller, and in so doing, has become WAY more attractive (I purchased mine in white) and I am far happier with the way it looks in my entertainment set. It feels more solid, and the new controller that came with it is a noticeable improvement over the original run. One of the biggest improvements are the removal of the need for a power brick. They've internalized that, so there's one less chunky thing behind your set. Really, though, this is an Xbox One that can do your old games AND do 4K in movies. If you have a 4K set, you will definitely notice a difference. It's beautiful. Mine doesn't even have HDR capability (which this device CAN do) and it's still some of the best picture I have ever seen. If you need a new one, or are new to the Xbox culture, do not hesitate to buy a One S with a great bundled game. You and your 4K TV will be happy!

use for gaming and entertainment, including 4K BluRay. it's also a stylish device that fits in with any decor. the interface is much more familiar for those using WIndows PCs, which is great. I bought this more for the 4K functionality than anything, it has more 4K capable apps than most stand-alone 4K BR players on the market. if you can make it through the somewhat clunky interface to actually watch 4K discs you'll love this interface. Just pin the "Blueray" app to your Home and you're good. take longer than most 4K players to load the video but the quality is still the same.

I caved and got this even though the Scorpio is right around the corner. I was on the fence but I'm sure glad I got it because gaming in HDR is something you'll never want to go back from. I wished all games could be in HDR and I hope that the support continues because it is a real thing and it looks so sweet on a proper TV. And the 4K Blu-ray player is just icing on the cake. So while I wait for the Scorpio to come out I'm enjoying this console. Even though it is a 500 gig model an easy upgrade to the my book HD 4 TB gives it the boost it needs in storage and that still a cheaper way to go then buying the 1 or 2 TB Xbox. If you are like me and was on the fence about getting it I would go for it because you can enjoy it now while waiting for the Scorpio and you can always trade it in or sell it to a friend later to make up for some of the cash.

I recently bought this system for my 11 yr old and he loves it. It was so easy to hook up, and the graphics are amazing. He’s new to video games and loves the variety of games available and i love that i can set up parental controls and add money through Microsoft. Extremely happy with this purchase!

I had an Xbox 360 and wanted an upgrade to this because it doesn't have the power brick, is much smaller, game graphics are way better, and it has the capability to stream and play 4K content (althought haven't tried this feature yet). One thing that I don't really care for is that you have to install the game, even if you have the game disc (must still have disc in system even after installed). This means you can't just play a new game from the disc but have to wait until it is installed, plus it takes up space on the hard drive even though you own the disc! I can get over it but if I would have known this prior, I would have got a bigger hard drive. All in all it is still a great system.

I bought the Xbox one S to replace my original Xbox one and I have to say it is a upgrade in every way. The one S is compact and much lighter than the original and does not have the big power brick that the original has it is now built in to the console. The controller is also improved and the box itself is more power efficient but the main reason I say this is a value is that for the money you also get a 4K blue ray player so it is some what future proof I say it like that because the Xbox one x is on the horizon. And as a side note I also purchased the official stand from Microsoft that stands it vertically it looks great and saves space.

I highly recommend the Xbox One S. It supports 4K and the various apps that utilize it. It will upscale the video. One con: the smaller HD. Since everything has to be installed now to play, you WILL run out of space fairly quickly. I would recommend getting yourself a high capacity external drive. It supports USB 3.0 and the games seem to load faster from the External than the HD anyway. I recently added a 2TB model to mine and moved everything over to there, only taking up a little over 26% of the capacity and now my Xbox is nice and lean. Keep an eye out for the deals and pick yourself up an Xbox! Gamertag: TheRamblingFrog

This Xbox was a gift to my daughter turning 7. She absolutely loves Minecraft. This product package was well worth the money. Now it’s going on 6 months and my daughter and husband fight over who’s going to play what game. Best birthday gift ever!

Bought for UHD playback, stayed for the games

Bought this for playing UHD blurays, cost of the stand alone UHD bluray players was extremely expensive and this can do double duty. I already owned a day one edition of the xbox one so I can still game & now take advantage of HDR features. This is a lot smaller by comparison and seems to be well built. 500GB wont go far with but with an additional external drive you can add plenty of breathing room. My only complaint is I wish bestbuy offered more of an in-stock selection on the bundled options for xbox one - my store only offered the minecraft and forza bundles.

Got the system on a holiday pricing deal. We Already had an xb1 and an xb1s. I did have a 4k tv without a uhd source to it. For less than the cost of a dedicated UHD disc player I got this system that plays 4k disc, a solid gaming system and a popular free game. My only complaint is a glitchy blu ray player app. It seems to work 99 percent of the times and at other times won't recognize the disc. You attempt to play the same disc at a later date and all goes smoothly. I have heard this complaint from several users and am hopeful Microsoft will fix this issue with an update.

We purchased the Xbox One S Minecraft Bundle for our two children (8 & 11) for Chirstmas. They were SO EXCITED to receive it, as it was their main gift wish. We hooked it all up, (which was quick and painless) and waited for the multiple updates to complete. I wasn't impressed by the fact that the system, the and the two controllers had to be updated.... they took about 10-15 minutes EACH to complete. Then, the games that we purchased along with the system, as well as the Minecraft game and Builders Pack that came with the bundle all had to be downloaded to the system. I tolerated all of those updates and downloads because I realized that these processes are necessary for the best gaming experiences. The graphics and ease of use for my two kids were GREAT! The games we bought were Madden 17, Guitar Hero Live, and of course, the Minecraft game it came with, and my kids love them all. This system was an upgrade from our Nintendo Wiii which was purchased about 7 years ago, so it was quite the difference in graphics, and technology. About an hour into playing, however, the system powered off by itself. We though it was strange, but chalked it up to the fact that the system had been overworked. We let the system "cool off" for more than an hour, as suggested in the troubleshooting tips on the Microsoft website, even though the system never did show a warning or feel hot in any way. My kids turned it back on to play, and again, after about an hour of play, it shut itself off again. I changed the settings on the home screen to NOT automatically shut off after a certain amount of time, also as suggested on the website. Again, the system continued to shut itself off randomly after about an hour of play. Late Christmas night, I decided to give the Microsoft chat option a try, and I was so impressed to see that someone was available to chat! The tech help person was VERY understanding, apologetic, and mostly- helpful. He asked me what I had already tried, which I SO appreciated. No one wants to be run through an automatic list of "trys" when they're already frustrated. He gave me a couple of more tips, such as resetting the power supply by unplugging the system for 10 minutes, and then plugging it back in, and he also suggested NOT plugging into a surge protector, but instead directly into a wall outlet. Neither of which worked. He then explained that the system comes with a year warranty, and that he'd be happy to help me set up a repair, BUT he recommended simply exchanging the system at Best Buy since it wasn't beyond the exchange time frame. My kids continued to play the system as it continued to randomly power itself off, until the next day when we took it back to Best Buy for an exchange. They were sold out of the system, but they painlessly refunded the purchase to our Best Buy card (even though the original purchase was made online- which is not the case with all retailers), so we could order another system. That was two days ago, and we're waiting for the new system to arrive. My kids were so disappointed that they haven't been able to play with their new toy during their Christmas break. However, I am so impressed at how easy it has been to get the assistance I needed, and then to return the item to Best Buy. We do A LOT of shopping at Best Buy and will continue to do so. Here's hoping the new system works without ANY issues!

Purchased as a birthday gift for my daughter. She is extremely happy as it upgraded her from her 360. Of course about 3 weeks later the deal came with an extra controller and gaming headset...oh well. Graphics and speed are excellent. Hook-up and setup was a breeze. Not ready for the X price tag yet then you will be happy with this one.

Got this for the kids almost a year ago. It’s been great...but we realized that 500 gigs isn’t really all that much space for games, especially since, with XBox Gold, they can do free game downloads. They don’t like to delete, so they’ve run out of space. We’ll get an add-on, but I think we’ll go with the 1T storage next time around.

I bought this Xbox S after buying an HDR 4k tv as an in-between way to view movies in HDR and have been very happy with it so far. Between my existing Xbox One and the Xbox One X I'll get in November, I didn't need this console to have a ton of HDD space, so it's been perfect for watching HDR 4k movies on, and the occasional game.

If you don't have the money just yet for the xbox one x I recommend the one S the 4K ultra blue ray player alone us a great deal they are usually 100 dollars or more alone for the sale they are on now as low as 169 you get that at a system that's had many entertaining apps and has upscaled 4K

They didn't reinvent the wheel here, just made it smaller. Somehow, the smaller size and different build materials make this a much better looking machine. That alone makes it nice. The lack of a huge power brick is a plus, and add in the fact that it can play 4K? I'm sold. I don't notice huge leaps and bounds in speed or processing power, but it feels more refined than the first generation. It is a very affordable 4K player that also happens to play Xbox One games. You can't go wrong! Just realize that this isn't a groundbreaking change of the previous model and I think you'll be happy!
