Customers love the Xbox One Stereo Headset Adapter's compatibility and sound quality, frequently praising its ease of use and convenient volume controls. While some users mentioned connection issues and a bulky design, the positive feedback on functionality and affordability outweighs these concerns. Many appreciate the mute button and find the price reasonable. However, a few users noted concerns about battery life and the adapter's size.

The stereo headset adaptor works great. It allows you to use any headphones to listen to the game. This comes in useful for late night gaming as you can mute the TV and just use headphones. If your headphones have a mic this replaces the gaming headset that the Xbox came with. Makes gaming more enjoyable.

I was first a little hesitant to buy this little adapter, but eventually broke down and picked it up. It does better than i thought it would. It plays great stereo sound through any headphones you plug into it. Of course that all depends on the headphones you use. It doesn't compare to my old turtle beach wireless surround sound headphones for my 360, but for the ability to chat and listen to the game when I want to keep the gameplay volume to a minimum, this is great. I can hear the game and chat just fine. It's a cheap way to get late night gaming in while the rest in the house sleep.

This is one of those items that should have been included instead of a dedicated headphone unit. Seeing how it is not possible (straight out of the box) to use external audio to a sound system, other than going through optical or HDMI, this unit gives you that option. Sure you will now be tethered on your wireless controller but extra long audio cable is cheap and gets in the way no more than the cable going to a headset.
I do like the fact that I can now plug in my old Xbox 360 headphones into it and the sound quality is as it should be. The control buttons feel just as good as the original unit and seems tough enough to withstand many drops. Only time will tell if it last as long as controllers do but for now I am very happy with it. The price could have been $10 cheaper to make it a bargain but not as bad as Inthough it was going to be.

When I upgrade to Xbox one I thought my xbox360 turtle beach headset will be collecting dust because of the incompatiblility with Xbox one. With this adapter turtle beach headset shines again !

Obviously you can just plug in regular headphones (excluding Apple) into the controller and they will work, but some headphones don’t have the volume control and you can’t turn up the headphones and stuck at Low volume welll with this you can turn up the volume and sounds great! Especially volume control headphones with the mic and it’s much more convenient since the controls are right there on the controlller....Also great for using those old turtle beaches that were made for your 360 and what not and converting them to be used on the XB1. Only con is that when you unplug these from the controller the volume resets to bear minimum.

So far this has been the best additional purchase for the Xbox. I can use any pair of headphones I have lying around and don't have to dish out over a hundred bucks to get a "fancy" pair of wireless headphones. Totally worth it for the price.

I got this so I could plug in just about any headphone set into my X-Box and then as long as i use a cable that has a mic built in, I can hear and speak in my games. Love them!

Works with just about any 3.5 headphones, one with a mic, is recommended. Mute button on the adapter is convenient. Good fit on the xbox controller mo risk of coming loose.

For the most part, you get what this says. It allows you to connect a headset into an Xbox controller that doesn't have a 3.5mm input. It does have some handy buttons including an illuminating mute button. My only real issue is that at $25, this is nearly half the price of a new controller that has a 3.5mm input already. It might be worth it to just get a newer controller with the jack input and have a spare controller for friends or when accidents happen to your current controller. The only reason I went this route is because I picked up an open box unit that was $5 off.

At last, microsoft finally reverted back to the adapter that worked the best. Instead of having to reach up on your headsets wire and fumble to try and find the volume or mute, its now where it was on the original XBOX....and certain models of headsets on the XBOX360......where it made the most sense....next to all the other buttons on the controller. Now you can actually mute mid game or change a volume level mid GAME. I also really like that you can choose balance between game volume and chat volume. that's a really nice feature. One of the best products I've invested money into for my XBOX.

I got this to work with my older wireless headset. Easy plug and play type thing. Even though now the newer One controllers have the new jack to fit even your ear buds. Works for original Xbox one controllers but still works with the new ones. I feel like its more control and ease, sound-wise, instead of going through the xbox to adjust sound and chat volumes.

My son wanted a better headset for the XBox. But I didn't want to spend $100 or more when he already has a decent headset that just needed a standard jack connection. This plugs right into the controller and gives full audio control and works with standard headphones. One thing to note, when I attached the device for the first time, I almost immediately was prompted to do a software update for the controller. I assume the update was due to the adapter (and updated both controllers), but it may not have been.
One last thing - when I was shopping for this adapter, I only found it in two other online stores, and both of them were priced double what Best Buy had it for.

So you already have a decent to excellent pair of headphones or earbuds lying around and you don't have the money for a 5.1 gaming headset. Next best option use your preferred headphones of choice with this adaptor and get stereo sound through your current headphones. Also if your headset already has a mic it works out of the box for online play. Also the stereo portion also works if you're watching videos through your Xbox. Don't want to wake anyone late at night with that action movie you've been dying to watch well here's a solution.

Could xbox and microsoft have just made the Xbox one controllers compatible with the standard pair of headphones/mic or included the adapter with the console? Sure they could have. Why didn't they? So we would have to buy this $25 piece of equipment separately. With that said, the volume control and mute mic features are very helpful when you are in the middle of game, because you don't have to take a hand off the controller and search for the volume control on the cord or to mute the mic when you want to have a private conversation with someone in your house during the game.

I bought this after returning a Turtle Beach XOne headset. While the XOnes worked well they hurt my ears after wearing them for a long time. The adapter allows me to use my ear buds when not needing to chat (90% of my game play) or I can hook up an on older headset with a microphone when needed. I only wish it would allow for the sound to be turned up a little more (all the way up is sufficient but I like it LOUD) and wish it supported Bluetooth headsets.
