Customers love the Xbox One Stereo Headset Adapter's compatibility and sound quality, frequently praising its ease of use and convenient volume controls. While some users mentioned connection issues and a bulky design, the positive feedback on functionality and affordability outweighs these concerns. Many appreciate the mute button and find the price reasonable. However, a few users noted concerns about battery life and the adapter's size.

I am very satisfied with purchasing this product. It is extremely easy to setup in a snap, and has volume controls for the game volume as well as chat volume. There is a mute button in the middle to easily turn on or off. I highly recommend every xbox one multiplayer gamer to purchase this item.

This adapter works great. I bought it so I could use my bose headphones when playing games. The sound is great but you have to buy another adapter to get the mic to work on Bose headphones. It would be a 5 star rating if not for that. I was able to get the the special mic adapter that plugs right into this one for $20. Other than that they work great

Great product. The adapter allows you to use any head phones that have a 3.5mm plug. I have a few sets of gaming headsets and this adapter let's me use them so I didn't have to buy a special pair of headphones for the Xbox one. Just plug it into the controller, then go to setting and update the software on the controller and then it is ready to use.

If you have an old xbox 360 headset and don't want to dish out a hundred dollars to buy a new headset, I would recommend this adapter. The audio is good, not great as you hear some static here and there. But, if you are on a budget or can't make the investment now, just buy yourself this adapter. If you recently bought a new xbox, I think those controllers have a built in 3.5mm opening and don't require an adapter.

Great adapter if you want to hear the game you are playing a lot more clearly. You can attach ANY headphones to it (you don't need an expensive bluetooth headset or anything). Great because you can hear a lot more of the details in the games you are playing, and gives you a more immersive experience. I didn't realize all of the finer details in the audio portions of the games and was missing some of the nuances.

I wrote a review on the turtle beach PX22 headset and mentioned that with the purchase of this adapter, the headset is able to work with the Xbox one. This adapter works as described and is an asset to the headset. Buying this adapter afforded me the opportunity to only have to purchase one headset as opposed to two, because my son has all four systems. This adapter was a necessity and works great.

I bought this to use with a headset that was made for my Xbox 360. Sometimes it would work, but then sometimes my friends couldn't hear me when I used my mic. The game audio came out fine, though. In the end I returned it so I can buy a new headset for my Xbox One.

I got this headset adapter to be able to connect my new headset to my xbox one, but since I have custom controllers (limited edition) the adapter does not click well and sometimes it gets disconnected, this is very frustrating for online gaming. It is pretty much the only choice right now, and they work well mostly.

It is really annoying to find an audio adapter cable because no one carries them anymore (ever since Radioshack went off the deep end). To remedy the problem, I went to Best Buy in a 30 minutes frenzy trying to find a way to avoid ordering one off the internet. This was my solution. It costed me $20 to get an audio cable and another headseat adapter, but I now have a working Turtle Beach and back-up headseat adapter - yay me.
P.S. Don't move. Seriously, this cable will disappear if you place it in a moving box. Trust me on this.
P.P.S. If you would like to wait on getting an audio adapter cable, which will probably get lost in the mail (see line above), then you probably need to stay on the internet. Silly Troll.

Product works but...

The device works but the design is typical Microsoft. The 2inch wire that comes with it is required for both mic and earphone usage. And not just as a 3mm converter. If the wire breaks, and it looks and feels like a weak part of the device, the entire thing will need replacing. Another 3mm converter won't work.

When I upgraded to Xbox One I thought I was going to have to retire my beloved Turtle Beach X42 Headset. Low and behold Microsoft did right by it's loyal consumers and made this adapter so I wouldn't have to spend another $150. The adapter works great and would recommend it to anyone upgrading from a 360.

Needed to Connect Turtle Beach Headset

I had a turtle beach XP400 headset that I used with my Xbox 360. When I upgraded to the Xbox one, the puck that came with the XP400 was not compatible with the new controllers. To use the XP400, you have to buy this headset adapter along with the Turtle Beach - Ear Force Talkback Cable for Xbox 360 - to allow your XP400 to have chat capabilities on Xbox Live. You lose a little of your wireless headset (you now have a cord running from the headset to your controller), but it isn't that bad. I had a hard time figuring out what I needed to get my XP400 working with the Xbox One, so in summary, you need this adapter and the talkback cable (linked below). I rated 4/5 just because the prongs that attach to the controller are a little fragile.

Mainly i purchased this so i can use it with my beats Solo HD headphones, which i love them. I need to buy an extra piece of equipment, so i can make the microphone work, but i didnt cost me that much, it was cheap.
Make sure before you buy it that you are aware of the need for an piece to use a microphone with it. Otherwise, using it to listen to games directly wont be a problem.

Got an X1 for Christmas, and already had a ps4 with a pair of wireless Golds. I did not want to buy a new headset, and I read from several sources this device would work with the Golds. Sources confirmed. Works like a charm, and saved myself some $. The buttons come in handy, and it's very unobtrusive on the controller. Slides write in and I don't even know it's there.

Good: cheap in price, great in quality, works great, useful if you don't have a newer controller
Bad: that I didn't buy two for my other controller
No regrets on this purchase. Still use the adapter even with the elite controller.

Headset adapter. A must have for anyone with a 3rd party headset. It's a shame so many of us have to own it just to be able to chat on any kind of decent level. Anyhow, mine works without a hitch about 99% of the time. It has a game volume and chat volume controls along with a mute button that comes in handy.
