Excellent console if you’re in the Xbox family. Plays all your games at the best possible resolution and is very fast to load. 4K playback of UHD discs is a plus if you’re into movies like I am. A bit overpriced, but you do get a lot for your buck if you’re into gaming and movies.

Simply put, if you are a console gamer and have the money, get this console. In some sports the equipment matters very little, but in gaming, hardware matters a LOT. This console will give you an edge over all other Xbox gamers. The performance of this machine is noticeable in every aspect. In menu actions are much faster, loading games is faster, texture quality (even in 1080p) is much better, even its response time when you click the buttons on the controller is faster, and lastly it has a much better/more stable frames per second. After playing back-and-forth between the Xbox One S and the X it is the most freeing feeling to play on the X with a good monitor. Stop missing those shots because you couldn't see the enemy, stop missing those shots because you couldn't move fast enough, and stop being let down by color and texture quality. Get this console it is worth it.

This replaced our XBOX ONE which we bought on the release. It is much faster, quieter and the storage is huge. We don't have a 4K TV but the graphics are better and the games load and play faster.

Best console for 3rd party games

This console is great for multiplatform games. Coming from a PS4 Pro and having never owned an Xbox before there are a few hidden gems worth playing on this systems eco system. That said, the one thing this console lacks as far a new games goes is exclusives(and I don't mean Halo, Forza, and Gears of War). While I am enjoying GOW4 im not really into Forza or Halo which leaves me with nothing else to play other than newer 3rd party games and some old BC titles. PS4 has exclusives such as BloodBorne, Horizon Zero Dawn, The Last of Us 1 & 2, Nier, Nioh, MLB 17, Infamous, Spider Man, God Of War and many more that the Xbox simply can't compete with. However, the fact of the matter is that 3rd party games are what we end up playing/spending the most money on and that is where the power of the Xbox One X is used best. Also Microsoft has taken the power of the One X further by enhancing old 360/Xbox games for FREE WHICH THEY DON'T HAVE TO DO and is a fantastic use of its power and sony could learn from them in this regard. Games like Assasins Creed Origins, Rise of the Tomb Raider and almost all 3rd party simply look/play better on the Xbox One X than on the PS4 Pro wether you have a 4K/HDR TV or a 1080P TV and this trend will continue for the rest of this console generation until the PS5 comes out. This console is worth it if you are already heavily invested into the Xbox Ecosystem or if you want the best looking 3rd party games so make sure you are conscientious of this before purchasing.Lastly, the included 4K UHD Blu Ray drive is FANTASTIC and is the reason why it the console costs $100 more than the PS4 Pro(which I would have paid extra for to have since it is a must have on a 4K/HDR and streaming just does not compare.)

The new xbox one x is fantastic! Load times are almost quadrupled, graphics are great, and the design is flawless. I do only recommend buying this if you own the the original xbox one...or dont have one yet. I upgraded from the one s and feel like the price was a bit too heavy for the switch.

I have been an Xbox gamer for many years. I own the Xbox 360, Xbox One, Xbox one S and now the Xbox One X. In addition, I own a PS4 Pro and a Nintendo Switch. I also own a high end AlienWare gaming laptop. Ok, don’t judge me, my hobby is gaming! But, it does put me in a unique position to compare and contrast the consoles. I am running the X through a fairly new Sony 65” 4K HDR TV. I can tell you that the X is absolutely the best console ever made! It produces beautiful graphics especially on games enhanced for the X. This Xbox is equivalent to a thousand to fifteen hundred dollar gaming PC. I am so impressed with this console and it’s even slightly smaller than the S. If you’re a gamer and have the money, the Xbox One X is a must have! Don’t think about it, just buy it, you’ll be glad you dod

The XBox X is a great product. The graphics are awesome. It runs very smooth, I play Ark and with the XBox S there was significant lag as it would fill in the details but with the X there is very little lag.

Load times are much faster. Have enjoyed playing with limited amount of 4K games, but will even more so when more games are available in 4K. The graphics are way better. For best results, you need a 4K tv.

Original Review: November 9, 2017 I love it. It’s taking its place over my PS4 Pro in the first HDMI slot that’s for sure. I’m pretty sure you already know what the Xbox One X does otherwise you wouldn’t be here. Project Scorpio Edition is that same Xbox One X console just with a pretty coat of paint. It has polka dots on the top and goes to a gray color tone. The X really does look good with the black and hint of green lettering on the front. This is a dense system very heavy but not difficult to move; You can tell Microsoft put their heart and soul into this product. The system has a lot of power in it and perfect for showcasing your 4K TV. Xbox One X is quick with the UI and it does open apps insanely fast. 4K HDR looks phenomenal Gears 4 and Forza 7 really shine on the system just wish they had more new first party games that took advantage of the system at release. The family loves using it and they love the 4K Blu-ray built in. In my opinion, it really is and remain an all in one box; that was Microsoft vision and I believe they promised on that. $500 is a steep price to pay at first but I feel like the investment and value is there just not “unlocked” And the X is sure to come down in price with retailers in the next 6 months. Xbox 360 games look better but don’t expect a massive improvement. All in all, it’s the perfect streaming box and the most powerful console in the world right now. Spend the extra cash on the Xbox One X and have it all. (Note: Get an external hard drive. It is a MUST. No really, AAA games now take up nearly 100GB of space or more. I get it with the massive 4K textures but this takes the cake. I now have 214GB left from the 1 TB and keep in mind that not all of these are UHD games but imagine 1-2 years from now. 1TB is not going to cut it.) Update 11/23/17: I’m already out of hard drive space not even a month away. So yeah I would highly recommend a 2 - 8 TB HDD if you certainly going to download a lot of games. Destiny 2 will get a 4K HDR patch next month. As it stands it’s 33 GB, the 4K textures on this game are going to be massive I’m sure. I notice someone else said you shouldn’t be shocked by games eating up space and questions people if they are gamers who are stunned by this. That is beside the point, I’m not “shocked” by the space being so overblown. I’m simply pointing out that these companies can’t get away with such small storage for much longer going forward and for YOU to get an HDD as soon as possible. They are already working on improvements to how storage is handled. For example, Devs can cut out things that don’t matter to the local country games and giving you the option deselect language packs. This is what is needed going forward and at least glad they are going to do something and I’m proud of that. Update 2/28/2018: Mircosoft has remained to deliver promises on the Xbox One X. The system is stellar and has a strong lineup of games. The monthly pass service is on $10 a month and well on its way to being the Netflix of gaming. There is an App for PC that allows to the streaming from Xbox...and an iOS app called OneCast which works amazing. this is by far my favorite system since the Sega Genesis and the Dreamcast. Keep up the great work Microsoft.

      Hey there,

Thank you for the very thorough review of Xbox One X! We're glad to hear that you're still enjoying it now as much as when you first got it. And good call on the recommendation to invest in an external hard drive if you plan on installing a lot of games -- it'll definitely come in handy in the long run. We hope you continue to have a lot of with it!

      Happy gaming,
      Chuck

I have purchase the OG Xbox One (2013) and Xbox One S (2016) but the Xbox One X (2017) does REALLY improve the graphics, textures and overall picture on a 4K tv. I have played the X on 1080 tv, you do see the upgrade but the reall benefit is on a 4k tv. I have a KS 8000 samsung 4K and wow!! The 4K and HDR does shine with the Xbox One X!!! I am more than happy with my purchase as Gamer NOT as a customer that walked in Best Buy.

I upgraded from the standard Xbox One to this and have to say it was worth the money. All games show a notable boost in performance and the games take advantage of its enhancements look absolutely stunning! If you already own the One or the One S and are on the fence and don't feel like spending the money right now - wait, save your money and buy it when it's gone down in price and/or possibly bundled with a game. If you have the money burning a hole in your pocket and need an excuse to buy it, just do it. You'll love it!

Microsoft lived up to the hype. I have gone from an orginal XB1 to and S and now the X. The S did upscale, which was a noticable improvment over the XB1. The X blows the S out of the water. The 4k games are thin right now but Ghost Recon Wildlands looks fantastic through the X on my samsung 4k TV. The X is also whisper quiet, nice little bonus.

What a beautiful machine! I mostly bought the X for 4K graphics but I have been so surprised by how much faster this xbox is! Switching menus are quick and smooth, loading is faster, and the 4K and HDR are so gorgeous. They have been expanding 4K support a lot since it's release. It's not cheap but I have been VERY happy with my purchase. No issues at all thus far and I use it every night whether it be to game or watch movies or TV. Speaking of, I have this plugged into a TCL 55" 4K tv, perfect for gaming!

I got it as a Christmas present for the kids, but decided to try it first to make sure the extra $ was worth it (Xbox One S was tempting for the lower price)... but I was blown away by this beast! It is very attractive in the shelf, not bulky or noisy, and it performs beautifully. Games looked amazing and movies looked just as good. Despite the high price, I just couldn’t convince myself to downgrade. OLED TV probably helped with decision too. It is a keeper and I think the kids will love it!
