The Xbox Series S, which I’ll refer to as Xbox, gets a lot of hate. It isn’t a 4K console (though most 4K games aren’t rendered in 4K on the Series X anyway), only has 512GB of storage, and lacks an optical drive meaning you can’t buy used games. But it’s still a solid console if you don’t care both 4K gaming. I have a 4K TV but usually stick to Lego games on my Xbox. With those titles, it doesn’t really matter. The graphics aren’t the same as my 4070Ti desktop, but that’s fine. The Xbox cost a fraction of my graphics card. The Xbox takes up minimal console space and doesn’t demand a whole shelf to itself. It’s also quiet, I don’t hear it while watching movies. Every streaming app is available on the Xbox platform. I picked up the media remote and use my Xbox for watching Max, Disney+, Netflix, Apple TV+ (including my purchased movie library), and various other platforms all in 4K. It’s a great media strainer that, when on sale, isn’t much more than an Apple TV 4K while having gaming capabilities. The Series S is the one to buy if you’re using a 1080p TV as well. Does it have the full power of the Series X or competing console from Sony? No, but it has a large game library, costs much less, is smaller, and works with the best game subscription service: Game Pass. I’ve played a few other games and they all look fine. Again, not graphically the best but still serviceable for what I paid for the console and it came with 3 months of Game Pass. Overall, this is a great first Xbox to decide if you’re going to get more into gaming. It’s a nice introduction to console gaming, gives you access to Game Pass, and works as a great media streamer all while costing less than half of higher end consoles (when on sale).

Incredible Features at a Low Price

The Xbox Series S is the more affordable and compact version of Microsoft's latest gaming console, the Xbox Series X. With a price tag of $299 (at most places), it's positioned as an entry-level console that provides players with the next-gen gaming experience without breaking the bank. One of the most notable features of the Xbox Series S is its size. It's significantly smaller than the Xbox Series X and even the Xbox One, making it a great option for gamers who have limited space in their homes. Despite its compact size, it still packs a punch, thanks to its custom-built AMD Zen 2 processor, which provides faster load times and better performance compared to the previous generation of consoles. The Xbox Series S supports ray tracing, which is a graphics technology that allows for more realistic lighting and shadows. It also supports up to 120 frames per second (fps) for smoother gameplay, and it can display games at up to 1440p resolution. However, it's worth noting that the console doesn't support native 4K resolution, which is a drawback for gamers who want the highest possible graphics quality. One of the downsides of the Xbox Series S is its limited storage capacity. It comes with a 512GB solid-state drive (SSD), which is much faster than traditional hard drives but can fill up quickly if you have a large game library. This means that you may need to purchase an external hard drive to expand your storage space. Overall, the Xbox Series S is a great option for gamers who are on a budget or have limited space in their homes. It provides excellent performance, fast load times, and access to a vast library of games. However, it's important to note its limitations, such as its lack of native 4K support and limited storage capacity.

    My Beloved SBox

The Series S is a compact powerhouse that exceeded my expectations. From the moment I unboxed it, I was impressed by its sleek design and small footprint, which fits perfectly into my entertainment setup. One of the standout features for me was its performance. Despite being the smaller sibling to the Series X, the Series S still delivers impressive graphics and smooth gameplay. I was blown away by the stunning visuals and fast load times, which made for an immersive gaming experience. Another aspect that I appreciated was the affordability of the Series S. As someone who's mindful of their budget, the lower price point was a major selling point for me. It allowed me to enter the world of next-gen gaming without breaking the bank. Additionally, the inclusion of Xbox Game Pass further enhanced my experience with the Series S. Having access to a vast library of games right out of the box was a game-changer. It allowed me to explore a variety of titles without having to make additional purchases, which was fantastic. Overall, my experience with the Xbox Series S has been nothing short of exceptional. Its compact size, impressive performance, affordability, and access to a wide range of games make it a standout console in the next-gen gaming landscape. Whether you're a casual gamer or on a budget, the Series S is definitely worth considering.
