Come for the combat, stay for the Nemesis system
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.the combat in this game is the free flow punch,punch,counter like in the Arkham Batman games, but with upgrades and finishers that make it feel unique. The nemesis system makes the game feel more "alive" as enemies will remember you from previous encounters. This was the first game I played on PS4 where I finally felt like the generation upgrade was worth it. It was my first reason why I got a current gen system.

It’s Better than I Expected.

You have to upgrade the character and weapons as you progress. It has story missions and tons of side missions, although they get quite repetitive later on in the game. Now, the Nemisis system is quite unique and interesting. I won’t put it in details so I don’t spoil it for you. This game’s been out for a while, but is still enjoyable. Fan of The Lord of the Ring or not, you’ll still enjoy the game.

If you're a LOTR fan, by all means, buy the game. Its not a bad game. Though I don't understand how this could be on that many GOTY lists. Pick it up if you're thinking about playing Shadow of War later this year. It's cheap, and it'll give you a taste of what's to come, and may help you in your decision on whether or not to play the second game.
